  Prehistory in the present: mediations, writings and images

  Comment se manifeste l’idée de préhistoire aujourd’hui ? Comment, avec quoi, pourquoi la fabriquons-nous ? Et que fabrique-t-elle en nous à l’ère du transhumanisme et de la crise écologique que nous vivons ? Ce colloque international réunit écrivains, dramaturges, artistes plasticiens, cinéastes, chorégraphes et musiciens, en dialogue avec des professionnels des musées et de la médiation et des chercheurs en sciences humaines, pour réfléchir à la productivité de l’idée de préhistoire dans l’imaginaire contemporain. Une première journée porte sur les rapports entre création et médiation, une deuxième sur la présence de l’idée de préhistoire dans la littérature, le théâtre, la chorégraphie et la musique, une troisième sur son élaboration dans les arts visuels.

  France through the mirror of Antiquity - Representations and uses of ancient civilisations in French schools

  Représentations et Usages des civilisations anciennes dans le cadre scolaire français

  Ce projet permet de s’interroger sur les référents communs qui sont transmis par l’école. La journée d’étude « La France au miroir de l’Antiquité » se proposera de mettre en perspective les résultats obtenus en les comparant avec ceux déjà étudiés pour d'autres civilisations anciennes (Étrusques, Rome, Grèce). Les interventions s’intéresseront donc à la réception de ces civilisations dans le cadre scolaire français.

  Ancient Physiologus and its medieval transmission

  Special issue of "RursuSpicae" (#12)

  Any proposal concerning one of the “recensions” of the Physiologus (in Greek as well as in the other ancient or medieval languages of diffusion – Latin, Armenian, Georgian, Arabic, Slavonic, Romanian ...) is welcome. The papers (in any European language) may relate to the medieval tradition and the avatars of this text / genre, and relate to philological, literary, cultural, naturalist, or iconographic aspects.

  Feeding animals/Eating animals. Theories, Attitudes and Cultural Representations of Nutrition in Ancient and Medieval World

  According to ancient biological theories, nutrition is, along with reproduction, one of the functions of the soul shared by men, animals and plants. At the same time, however, eating habits are among the starting points on which differences between humans, animals and plants are culturally built. This means that a transversal biological praxis can be used as an anthropological device, in order to to fix and identify specific boundaries and thresholds, either symbolic or theoretical, between both animality and vegetality on the one hand, and zoosphere and  anthroposphere on the other hand.

  Servius and ancient knowledge

  Les commentaires de Servius (4e-5e s. de notre ère) sur les œuvres du poète Virgile (1er s. av. J.-C.) constituent un maillon important de la transmission du savoir antique jusqu’à nous. Ce colloque international se donne pour but d’analyser les fragments d’érudition ainsi transmis par le commentaire de Servius dans les domaines les plus variés. Les communications poseront la question de la transmission du savoir et de ses transformations, ainsi que celles du degré de spécialisation et de vulgarisation des sciences.
