The New Shape of Sharing: Networks, Expertise, Information
Online series on key issues facing Western European collections and public services will encourage debate and surface new ideas. The sessions will focus on three areas: new models for collaborative collection development and services; the growing range of content and format types and their significance for libraries and researchers; and the evolving role of libraries and librarians in the research process. The multiple effects of the pandemic on libraries and academic institutions clearly demonstrate that the topics chosen for the forum—cooperation and sharing of collections, services, and technology among libraries, scholars, and members of the book and publishing communities—are particularly pertinent in today’s library environment.

Publishing in the humanities and social scienecs second conference
Les Éditions de l’EHESS et les Éditions de l’INED organisent les 2e rencontres de l’édition dans le domaine des sciences humaines et sociales, les 16 et 17 novembre 2020. Ces deux journées mettront l’accent sur l’évolution des métiers éditoriaux dans le contexte de la mutation numérique de l’édition. L’objectif est de construire une réflexion commune pour prendre la mesure des évolutions survenues depuis le début du XXIe siècle et de leurs conséquences, intellectuelles comme professionnelles.

Organisé par la chaire Unesco « Pratiques émergentes et communication pour le développement », le colloque Intelligence artificielle et innovation sociale vise, à travers une approche interdisciplinaire, à étudier les bouleversements sociaux induits par l'intelligence artificielle, à identifier et analyser les pratiques de l’intelligence artificielle par les acteurs économiques, publics et civils ; d'observer les processus d'appropriation collective ainsi que les logiques de coopération qu'elle suscite (création d’espaces de discussion, de formation, de médiation etc.) ; de développer une approche critique de l’intelligence artificielle et de l'innovation sociale ; de suivre les évolutions des processus d'innovation liées à l’usage des algorithmes ; de révéler les principaux défis soulevés par l’intelligence artificielle ; d'appréhender les freins et les incitants à l'usage de l'intelligence artificielle dans les pays en développement.

A forum on current issues in European librarianship
The New Shape of Sharing: Networks, Expertise, Information continues conversations begun at the New Directions Symposium held in Frankfurt in 2017. This multi-day forum of panel presentations, a poster session, and interactive breakout sessions on key issues facing Western European collections and public services will encourage both structured and unstructured debate. We will advance our understanding of the challenges and initiate action in three areas: design new models for collaborative collection development and services; explore a growing range of content and format types and what they mean for libraries and researchers, and highlight the evolving role of libraries and librarians in the research process.

Au programme : retours d'expérience, réflexions sur l'articulation entre enjeux techniques, scientifiques pour la recherche et les bibliothèques et, bien sûr, présentation de la nouvelle plateforme. Le projet Fonte Gaia se décline en un blog et une bibliothèque numérique scientifique. Porté par le consortium international rassemblant des universités françaises et italiennes (Grenoble, Paris 3, Bologne, Padoue, Rome), Fonte Gaia a pour vocation de proposer aux italianistes de devenir autant lecteurs que producteurs et commentateurs de savoirs et d'éditions numériques.

The objective of this workshop is to create the conditions for the emergence of a scientific community using digital collaborative tools within Ethiopian studies. There is no need to recall the scientific and technological context in which we live to understand the importance and challenges of this methodological revolution. Many initiatives have emerged over the past two decades, both in terms of the availability of digitized documentation and the tools to use it. After the first experiments, interoperability and sharing have become the key words, and Ethiopian studies must respond to these good practices.

Elle s’inscrit dans le cadre des activités de l’axe transversal du laboratoire « Histoire et sources des mondes antiques » (HiSoMA – Éditions, archives, humanités numériques) et du premier axe stratégique de la Maison de l’Orient et de la Méditerranée (Les données de la recherche, de l’acquisition à l’archivage).

History corpuses in the digital age. Electronic editions of royal and princely acts
Le projet de recherche Acronavarre ambitionne de recenser et d’éditer numériquement les quelques 7 000 actes des rois et reines de Navarre conservés sous quelque forme que ce soit et produits entre 1484 et 1594. Il s’inscrit dans une longue tradition d’éditions de corpus d’actes royaux et princiers du Moyen Âge. La validité de ces corpus fait l’objet d’un engouement renouvelé, tant en raison d’un retour aux sources de la part des historiens que du développement des outils numériques. Ces derniers ont bénéficié des corpus existants pour tester des méthodes et des techniques. En retour, les potentialités des nouveaux outils (web sémantique, interopérabilité) obligent à concevoir autrement la constitution de ces corpus. Comment les historiens des époques médiévale et moderne s’en saisissent-ils (s’ils s’en saisissent) ? Quelles sont leurs attentes ? Leurs espoirs ? Leurs déceptions ?

The testaments of French footsoldiers - a collaborative transcription project
Transcription collaborative – C'est parti !
L’équipe du projet « Testaments de Poilus » est heureuse de vous annoncer le lancement de la plateforme de transcription collaborative qui permettra aux internautes de transcrire et d’enrichir plus de 1000 testaments rédigés par des Poilus de la Grande Guerre morts pour la France. L’ouverture de la plateforme aura lieu le mardi 30 janvier 2018, de 14h à 19h aux Archives nationales (site de Paris). Lors de cette demi-journée, des conférences et ateliers présenteront le corpus des testaments, les enjeux de leur transcription et les étapes de la préparation d’une édition électronique. Des ateliers en petits groupes permettront d’assister à une présentation détaillée de la plateforme et de se familiariser avec son fonctionnement.

Crowdsourcing as a means to share, enrich and publish heritage sources
The wide variety of these projects, their objects, and their contributing “crowds” is striking: “Transcribe Bentham”, “Zooniverse”, etc. not forgetting Wikipedia. Facing this fact, it seems interesting to allow researchers from various disciplinary origins to gather and question crowdsourcing together. A large number of questions are at stake, from a scientific point of view, but also sociologically and ethically: are there common practices to these projects that are so different in their objects, objectives, data, and contributors? We thus wish, during this international and interdisciplinary conference, to confront theories, reflexions and sharing out of experiences on this subject.

A symposium, New Directions for Libraries, Scholars, and Partnerships, will take place on Friday, October 13, 2017, at the German National Library during the Frankfurt Book Fair. The Symposium is sponsored by the Collaborative Initiative for French Language Collections (CIFNAL) and the German-North American Resources Partnership (GNARP), both working projects of the Center for Research Libraries (Chicago, USA), with support from the German National Library and other French, German, and international partners. Session topics include: collections and collaboration; digital scholarship; the publishing revolution; new dimensions of service to scholars and students; and new strategies for services and partnerships.

The notion of "author" through the prism of the socio-economic changes in the book profession

L’objectif de ce séminaire est d'une part, d’établir un état des lieux des pratiques, discours, positionnements et représentations éditoriales en les examinant à partir de la notion d’« auteur » dans le secteur des littératures de genre et d'autre part, de contribuer à une réflexion théorique et méthodologique à partir de l’exposé de travaux de recherche en cours sur cette thématique. Il s’agit, de fait, d’analyser de quelles manières certaines mutations socio-économiques (autoédition, désacralisation de l’acte d’écriture avec la mise en place d’ateliers, de formations, à l’image de la pratique du Creative Writing, surproduction, concurrence accrue, rationalisation, recours au crowdsourcing) reconfigurent tout particulièrement la notion d’« auteur » au sein de ce secteur, qui rencontre un très fort succès auprès du lectorat.
