  The Smaller European Powers and China in the Cold War, 1949-1989

  This international conference aims to examine the policies of the smaller European powers towards China – and vice versa – during the Cold War. Thereby it focuses, on the European side, on both Western and Eastern Europe – regardless of whether a country was part of the NATO or the Warsaw Pact. Meanwhile, on the Chinese side, the conference proposes to include both Chinas, namely the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (RoC). While this should allow for the analysis of different relational constellations, the chronological framework – that ranges from the Communist victory in China in 1949 to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Tiananmen Square uprising in 1989 – should enable us to identify policy shifts and patterns.

  Les mardis de l’École des chartes (2015-2016)

  Événement régulier consacré à l’actualité éditoriale des chartistes, les « mardis » se veulent le cadre d’une rencontre et d’un débat entre un auteur et un « discutant », collègue chercheur partageant des centres d'intérêt communs. L’objectif, avec la participation du public, est d’en présenter les thèses, d’en évoquer la genèse et d’en discuter le contenu, afin d’en proposer une lecture originale et dynamique.

  Cité interdite, palais impériaux et cours royales, comparaison entre les symboles du pouvoir impérial et monarchique en Orient et en Occident

  L’objectif de cette manifestation scientifique est d’étudier les Palais impériaux et les Cours royales d’Orient et d’Occident. Le thème central vise à une « comparaison entre les symboles du pouvoir impérial et monarchique » de ces deux civilisations.
