- Guest speaker Professor Malcolm Bowie, Cambridge
- The Institute of Romance Studies, London, Saturday 8 May 2004
Held under the auspices of the Society of Dix-Neuviémistes, with additional financial support from the Society for French Studies, this day will provide an opportunity for current and recent postgraduate students to reflect upon the role of theory and interdisciplinarity in their own research and upon the future of nineteenth-century French studies (taken to include literary, historical, cultural, artistic, and theoretical perspectives on France and the French-speaking world, 1789-1914). Proposals are invited from current and recent postgraduates for ten-minute presentations on the following topics, and how they relate to issues arising in their own research:
The closing dates are 31 January 2004 (to submit a proposal) and 28 February 2004 (to reserve a place). For either of these, or to find out more, please contact Miranda Gill, SDN Postgraduate Representative: miranda.gill@chch.ox.ac.uk, Christ Church, Oxford OX1 1DP. More information about the Society of Dix-Neuviémistes is available on the website www.sdn.ac.uk.
