Resumo
The Museum of the History of Science, which houses a collection of
scientific instruments of international importance, has been awarded a
Designation Challenge Fund grant by the Museums, Libraries and Archives
Council for a research project entitled ‘Small Worlds’. It is now inviting
applications for two posts of Researcher for the project, one of whom will
concentrate on cataloguing microscopes, the other microscopical specimens.
The officers will be involved with mounting on-line presentations of the
collections and a special exhibition. The successful candidates will
possess relevant degrees and a proven interest in the technical and
cultural history of early scientific instruments. The officer for
microscopical specimens is likely to have a relevant background in the
biological sciences.
