Ce séminaire fait partie d’un projet plus large de collaboration avec le Centre d’étude de la première guerre mondiale de l’Université de Birmingham, et a pour ambition de créer un réseau international de chercheurs de disciplines différentes travaillant sur l’entre-deux-guerres en France et en Grande-Bretagne. En s’appuyant sur les études récentes des démobilisations politiques et culturelles, il s’agit de contribuer à l’historiographie des sorties de guerre à travers une approche renouvelée de la reconstruction en Europe.

Le séminaire a lieu de 14h à 16h au Centre d’histoire de Sciences Po, 56, rue Jacob, 75006 Paris. Métro Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Organized by the Birmingham Centre for First World War Studies and the Centre d’Histoire at Sciences Po, this seminar aims to lay the foundation of a long-term collaborative project that would enable historians of France and Britain to renew the study of both countries in the inter-bellum period.  Convinced of the necessity and value of a truly comparative and interdisciplinary approach, the project will firmly locate the experience of France and Britain between the two world wars into its European and international context. Its focus on the transition from war to peace will lead the team to build on recent studies of cultural and political demobilizations after WWI; to combine the history of sorties de guerre with a renewed approach to the reconstruction of former belligerent nations.

The seminar will be held between 2pm and 4pm at the Centre d’histoire de Sciences Po, 56, rue Jacob, 75006 Paris. Métro Saint-Germain-des-Prés
