Summary

Le FRIAS (Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies) recrute des chercheurs. Le Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) est un Centre de recherches au sein de l´université de Freiburg, pôle universitaire d´excellence fondé grâce à l´initiative d´excellence, un concours fédéral des universités allemandes. L´Institut est composé d´une d´une école scientifique – School of History – au sein de laquelle l´ensemble des disciplines en histoire est représenté ; des chercheurs internationaux y réalisent des projets majeurs de recherche pendant leur séjour. Dans la phase actuelle des cinq premières années de la School of History, les projets individuels se rassemblent autour de l´histoire européenne comparative du XVIIIe au XXe siècle. Au-delà de cette perspective définie, des propositions scientifiques concernant d´autres époques et d´autres pays sont également les bienvenues.

Announcement

For 2011/12 applications are invited for up to 7 Fellowships:

 

4 Senior Research Fellowships

for tenured professors (or equivalent) in the field of History and/or allied disciplines and 

3 Junior Research Fellowships

for post-doctoral researchers in the field of History and/or allied disciplines. 

Candidates for Senior Fellowships should have an outstanding record in international academia with a high-ranking publication profile. Applicants for Junior Fellowships should be exceptional young researchers with a highly promising Ph.D. in addition to further publications.

 The academic year starts on October 1, 2011 and terminates on July 31, 2012. Fellowships will be remunerated according to the German professorial system, depending on the candidate’s profile and qualification. Senior Fellowships and Junior Fellowships are usually for one year. All FRIAS Fellows are expected to reside in Freiburg.

 Applications including CV, list of publications, two letters of reference (only for Junior Research Fellowships) and a research proposal (5-8 pages) should be sent to the Directors of the FRIAS School of History by June 22, 2010: University of Freiburg, FRIAS School of History, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Herbert and Prof. Dr. Jörn Leonhard, Stadtstr. 5, 79104 Freiburg i.Br., Germany.
