Zusammenfassung
Interoperable Annotations for the Arts and Humanities is an event in the series of DARIAH-Expert workshops. It is a combined effort of the Berlin-Brandenburgische-Akademie der Wissenschaften as partner within DARIAH-DE and The Language Archive. The series of DARIAH-Expert workshops has the goal to bring together a small group of experts, related to a specific topic and have them exchange their knowledge about latest developments.

- Deep understanding of suitable tools and approaches ready to be used to make annotations
- more interoperable or to work with annotations in an interoperable way
- The adaption of existing annotation software to make it more interoperable within a web
- environment
- A set of approaches, fostering interoperability of annotations leading into a document of best
- practices
- A definition of strategies for the leverage of annotations from closed software or from
- proprietary standards
- An articulated vision of the importance and roles annotations can play for (Digital) Humanities
- research in a digital environment to promote the topic of annotation.
- A description of the landscape of (digital) annotation practices and methods in the humanities
- A description of further needs for interoperable annotations from a humanities perspective
- which could be used by other initiatives and projects
- An agreement how to continue with the built up network of annotation tools implementers for
- further synergistic development.
