Presentation
A hands-on workshop for heritage professionals, who share the cultural heritage collections online, and researchers, who use digital resources in their research. The aim of the workshop is to promote digital research methods and academic re-use of the digital heritage content in the European academic community.
The outcome of the workshop will be a short hands-on online guidebook on how to set up re-use strategies: 1. helping heritage professionals share their collections in a way that is most inclusive and enables re-use of the resources, 2. helping researchers to find, use and re-use heritage resources in their academic work.
- Day 1 (12:00-18:00) will explore the main problems of heritage resources re-use in the context of participants’ expertise. Participants should be prepared to deliver a lightning talk (app. 5 mins) about their projects which are relevant to the workshop. After the day of work we invite you all to a networking dinner.
- Day 2 (9:00 – 15:00) will be dedicated to booksprint. Participants will concentrate on writing-up an initial set of guidelines for the reuse, which will be elaborated through online collaboration after the workshop.
The guidebook will be published online by fall 2018 and presented during the DARIAH General Assembly meeting in Warsaw. All participants who actively contribute to the final outcome will be listed as co-authors.
