Music, Nation and Identity: the English Musical Renaissance, forms and conditions.
Appel à contributions pour un prochain numéro de la Revue française de civilisation britannique consacré à ce qu'on appelle la Renaissance de la musique anglaise à la fin du XIXe siècle. On pourra s'intéresser au débat sur le nationalisme en musique, la production et la réception d'une musique dite nationale, à la construction d'un mythe identitaire anglais ou britannique par la musique, par l'appropriation de modèles étrangers ou indigènes du passé, aux personnalités qui ont favorisé la légitimité et le développement de la musique dans la société anglaise, comme au mouvement choral, aux éditeurs, aux institutions et à la critique musicale du temps. -

Ce colloque voudrait perdre la mesure du renouvellement interprétatif dont la philosophie de Rousseau a été l'objet ces dernières années : mieux comprise dans sa cohérence, mieux située dans son rapport polémique avec son temps, elle apparaît plus pertinente pour le nôtre. Les propositions de contributions se situeront à la fois par rapport à cette problématique d’ensemble et en référence à l’un des pôles autour desquels s’organisera le colloque :1° « Théorie de l’homme » et « histoire de la morale ». 2° Théorie du langage et esthétique. 3° Philosophie politique. 4° Philosophie de la connaissance et métaphysique. -

Contemporary Uses of the Second World War in Russia
The Journal of Power Institutions in Post-Soviet Societies
The Second World War gave rise in the USSR to a myth whose beginnings already existed at the time, but which developed gradually, finally taking on institutionalized form after the 1960s (essentially in the sense of commemorative plaques, monuments and museums) in the context of the Cold War and the evolution of the system that followed on de-Stalinisation (N. Tumarkin). We will thus examine contemporary visions and re-appropriations of the history of the war – from local testimony-collection initiatives, school war museums and school textbooks, to representations in films, programmes on Zvezda, and cultural events.
