Contemporary African Art and New Media: Reflections on a New “Intermediatique Axis of Relevance”
This collective work project addresses the question of the encounter between contemporary African art, new media and intermediality from a creative point of view. It attempts to rethink this encounter in the light of media ondines. The contributions invited in this call for papers require a multidisciplinary approach, in order to better question the mutations that characterise contemporary African artistic creation. We are particularly interested in articles that broaden the aesthetic and temporal categories through which contemporary art, new media and intermediality are traditionally understood.

Cultural Mediation in Language Teaching: Possibilities, Challenges Or Mission Impossible?
Revue « Verbum et Lingua : Didactique, langue et culture »
The editorial team of Verbum et Lingua has determined that the thematic focus of this publication will be “Cultural mediation in language teaching: possibilities, challenges or mission impossible?”. Cultural mediation is understood as the search for understanding and comprehension between linguistic and cultural differences of different communities. The teaching of languages and cultures plays a role in cultural mediation through pedagogy, linguistics, intercultural studies, research and methodological tools that serve this purpose. Therefore, the journal invites specialists in cultural mediation and linguistic intermediaries, interested in facilitating the teaching of languages and cultures as a bridge to a better understanding between them, to participate with article proposals.

Seminar Series: Women in French Australia
In this seminar we propose to re-centre various cultural representations arising from literature (oral and written), artistic mediums, media, music and cinema by Francophone Sub-Saharan women. Importantly, this seminar aims to go beyond the denunciation-celebration axis that has so far tinged many a study on polygamy in cultural representations from the continent to explore polygamy in all its forms, including unofficial extra-marital relations implying tacit acceptance of polygamy (Boni, 139), and modes of expression.

For a geography of territorial transitions?
Conceptual frameworks, methodological challenges and critical perspectives

Conference, symposium - Middle Ages
Blood and Virtue. Nobility of Blood and Nobilities of Soul in the Middle Ages
This conference will look at the theoretical debates surrounding the concept of nobility, its social repercussions and nobility of soul as a discriminating criterion, not only in the aristocratic social group but in the whole society. How does the ethical dimension associated with the notion of nobility help to justify its social pre-eminence? Do medieval authors agree or, on the contrary, oppose each other in resolving the contradiction between a moral quality and its hereditary transmission? How did these theoretical concepts translate into practice? Do they give rise to expectations or even social demands?

Convergences of Popular Dance, Justice, and Media

Call for papers - Ethnology, anthropology
Revue « Parcours anthropologiques »
This issue of Parcours Anthropologiques calls upon researchers in a wider sense (who define themselves as theorists and/or practitioners), from various areas and disciplines, in and beyond the social sciences. We invite contributions that privilege reflection on “new” “graphies”, with particular attention to the concrete and sense-oriented dimensions of experience and to the dialogue between what is experienced, what is thought and techniques that are mobilized. This issue is an opportunity to draw an initial state of the art of works and reflection on that topic and to engage in diverse exploration of ways that open up to the sensorial, practical and theoretical stakes of a “Corps&Graphies” project.

Foreign Consulates and Consular Agents in France in the 20th Century
The presence of embassies, consulates and other foreign diplomatic representations in France is a relatively undocumented subject, particularly in contemporary history, although it lies at the crossroads of the history of diplomacy and international relations, economic history and the history of immigration. This call for papers aims to generate contributions for the second year of our webinar, intending to continue the exploration and unravelling of French international and diplomatic history 'from below' in the 20th century.

Call for papers - Ethnology, anthropology
This edition of Savoirs en Prisme review proposes some reflexions on how their manner of conversing defines human societies. Nowadays the word conversation can refer to interactions without voice or body using predictive text and artificial intelligence. Can this type of communication meet the needs of human beings? Is not face-to-face conversation a necessity, almost an urgency at the moment? Literature and all forms of representations have bequeathed to us this principle present at the very core of societies.

In this volume, we would like to analyze in depth the paths taken by the 20th and 21st century Latin American and Caribbean letters in relation to the experience of the black diaspora in dialogue with the visual arts, as well as in relation to the main themes, forms and techniques used by artist, playwrights, poets, storytellers and writers. In a context of increasing violence and intolerance towards minorities in Latin America, we will welcome analyses that focus on the relationship between literature and the resistance of the cultures created by the black diaspora.

Religions and the intimate sphere in contemporary times
Our contemporary era is marked by changes in the relationship to sexuality that can be grouped under the term “sexual modernity”. Although these issues are intimate, they also have a strong collective dimension. Several recent societal debates, particularly in the West, whether on same-sex marriage, surrogate motherhood, sexual violence, or recently on abortion freedom and trans-identity, have shown that although they are not new, the questions of the relationship between sexual ethics and religions must nevertheless be studied in the light of the social, scientific, political and legal developments of the last decade. This colloquium proposes to examine the relationship between religions and sexuality in contemporary times.

The transatlantic circulation of fashion in the 20th century
Cultural and symbolic aspects
