Le séminaire Input, Poke & Save est un séminaire international, en ligne, qui se destine à l’étude des plateformes de jeux, en l’abordant sous différents angles : hardware, contrôleurs alternatifs, plateformes de distribution des jeux, mais aussi les contextes de distribution desdites plateformes, voire de certains jeux et éléments de hardware, dans l’industrie globalisée du jeu.

La philosophie et la question nationale
Prenant comme point de départ l’idée, proposée par Jacques Derrida, de « nationalisme philosophique », ce séminaire a pour but d’interroger la manière dont les différents discours nationaux et nationalistes ont accompagné tant la construction de l’historiographie philosophique moderne que le développement de la philosophie comparée ou interculturelle. La division du monde en « nations philosophiques » constitue aujourd’hui encore le point de départ de tout effort comparatiste et conduit à faire du « dialogue entre traditions » un discours tendant à légitimer les idéologies nationales. Une telle « situation » de la philosophie contemporaine n’est pas sans influencer les pratiques philosophiques et, plus encore, ses cadres institutionnels.

The Embassy of France to the Czech Republic and the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MYES) coordinate the Barrande fellowship programme, the exchange mobility programme for Ph.D. students between the Czech Republic and France. The programme is designed to provide Ph.D. students in the Czech Republic with opportunities to study in France and Ph.D. students in France with opportunities to study in the Czech Republic. The aim of the programme is to enhance international education exchange while encouraging scientific cooperation between French and Czech research teams.

Géographie et genre en Afrique
Leviers et perspectives de développement de carrières académiques dans la recherche en Afrique
Le Réseau africain des jeunes chercheurs en géographie (RAJEC Géo) du Groupe de recherche Populations, sociétés et territoires (PoSTer) de l’université Jean Lorougnon Guédé (Daloa, Côte d’Ivoire) organise le 6 février 2024 sa deuxième journée d’étude. Par cet appel à contribution, le RAJEC Géo propose d’aborder les études de genre en géographie sur le continent et invite à réfléchir aux approches méthodologiques et théoriques adoptées par les chercheurs africains qui mobilisent cette grille d’analyse des rapports sociaux et spatiaux dans leurs travaux. Cet appel à contribution s'inscrit dans une perspective géographique et pluridisciplinaire.

Safeguarding the health and safety of children in agriculture
Webinar 2023
Worldwide, agriculture is among the most dangerous industries and one of the few that consistently involves children. Whether children are working or merly present in the farm worksite, they are exposed to a wide array of agricultural-related hazards which results in these children experiencing high rates of injuries and fatalities compared to children in the general population. Understanding and addressing children health and safety issues in agriculture is important from a public health and child advocacy perspective. Safeguarding children in agriculture also connects back to the social and economic sustainability of farm labor systems.This webinar invites to shed light on the health and safety of children in agriculture in Northern and Southern countries with an emphasis on family farm systems and to support the development of a network of scholars and practitioners working on these topics.

The Roma in East Central Europe
Much scholarly attention has been paid to visible forms of historical anti-Ziganism/anti-Gypsyism/anti-Roma racism, hostility, discrimination, hate crime, harassment, and racial violence in east central Europe. Significantly less scholarly attention has been paid to the ways in which historical invisible prejudice and anti-Roma perceptions were constructed and shaped educational, health, employment, and housing policies targeted at and/or impacting Roma. This symposium Agency and Perception: The Roma in East Central Europe focuses on the intricate relationship between perception and agency through Roma-targeted and related policy discourses and practices, which were informed by specific academic knowledge and disciplinary lenses.

The future of science: scientific archives and new research
The testimonial value of scientific archives cannot be denied: archives help historians and particularly historians of science retrace science’s history, its place in society, past and future. But what other direct value could be assigned to old scientific archives? Could scientific archives be used for producing new scientific results, either in their discipline or in another? Could they be used for informing new artistic or societal work or bring about technological innovations ? This conference aims to consider examples of reuses of scientific material for producing new results.

Critical Romani Studies in Central and Eastern Europe
“Exploring Racial Capitalism: Critical Romani Studies in Central and Eastern Europe” is the closing conference of the research project ‘Precarious labor and peripheral housing. The socio-economic practices of Romanian Roma in the context of changing industrial relations and uneven territorial development’ conducted at Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, between 2020-2023. Embracing PRECWORK’s approach, the conference opens up a dialogue about the condition of impoverished Roma in the field of housing, labor and migration, viewed in the wider political economy context that affected them through deindustrialization, uneven development and racialization processes.

Encyclopédie numérique des couleurs
L’encyclopédie numérique des couleurs (ENC), plateforme scientifique et académique multinationale en accès libre et gratuit, est dédiée à l’étude des couleurs dans plusieurs champs de recherche, à savoir sciences, littératures et arts. Elle est fondée en 2021 à l’initiative de Ramzi Turki et Cécile Croce auxquels se sont associés d’autres partenaires et collaborateurs. Dans ce contexte, le laboratoire Médiations, informations, communication, arts (MICA, université de Bordeaux Montaigne) et le laboratoire Langage et traitement automatique (LLTA, université de Sfax) en partenariat avec FrancophoNéA, le Réseau de recherche néo-aquitain sur les francophonies, organisent une journée scientifique ouverte en ligne, le 27 octobre 2023, offrant l’occasion d’accentuer la visibilité de ce projet auprès des chercheurs de diverses disciplines qui s’intéressent à la couleur et aux problématiques qui y sont liées.

Terrains, méthodes et analyses
Le discours numérique est l’ensemble des productions verbales élaborées en ligne, quels que soient les appareils, les interfaces, les plateformes ou l’outil d’écriture. Il pose aux sciences du langage telles sont pratiquées jusqu’à présent un certain nombre de problèmes qu’on ne peut résoudre qu’en pratiquant la remise en cause des modèles conceptuels. Dans ce colloque, nous tâcherons, à travers une approche sémio-pragmatique, de cerner les fonctionnements et les stratégies discursives exploitées dans les discours sociaux : politique, humoristique et journalistique à l’ère du numérique.

Legal Issues in Textual Scholarship
Through the practice of editing culturally and historically relevant documents, textual scholars are regularly faced with legal restrictions to their scholarly endeavours – including both copyright and non-copyright restrictions such as the privacy and moral rights of authors. In practice, these added difficulties and legal uncertainties cause funding agencies, libraries, and archives to prioritise the digitisation and publication of less legally problematic materials – which threatens to cause a bias in our output as a research field. In an effort to move forward as a research community, the European Society for Textual Scholarship (ESTS) is organising an online symposium on Legal Issues in Textual Scholarship to address these obstacles, and reflect on the legal restrictions that may affect textual scholarship in the analog and digital paradigms.

La preuve imaginaire : asseoir l’authentique en sciences sociales
Séminaire de recherche et doctoral
L’adjectif « authentique » désigne « l’être dans sa vérité propre », « en adéquation avec lui-même ». Son étymologie, du grec authentes, « qui agit de sa propre autorité », met l’accent sur l’idée d’une action ou d’un mode d’existence qui va de soi ; se révèle ainsi la forte association entre l’authenticité personnelle ou collective et l’identité réalisée. Mais « être soi-même » est une question qui suppose un double positionnement : « se regarder » ou « être regardé », « s’évaluer soi-même » et « être évalué », « se classer soi-même » ou « être classé ». Pour sa deuxième année le séminaire aborde des aires extra-européennes (Palestine, Afrique) et renforce le débat théorique (autorité, hypercritique).

L’Observatoire des politiques publiques en situation d’épidémie et post épidémique (OPPEE, Université de Bordeaux) organise en collaboration avec la Chaire de recherche France-Québec sur les enjeux contemporains de la liberté d’expression (COLIBEX, CNRS / FRQ) une journée d’étude sur les conséquences des pandémies sur la liberté d’expression.

Le ridicule en question à l’époque médiévale
Cette manifestation scientifique propose d’aborder la question du ridicule dans l’art et la littérature du Moyen Âge, en se fondant sur différents types de récits et d’œuvres, afin d’explorer sa fabrication, ses mises en scène, ses objets, ses visées, ses rejets et ses effets. Il s’agira aussi d’analyser le rapport que ces œuvres ou passages ridiculisant entretiennent, d’une part, avec le monde, d’autre part, avec l’art lui-même. Si les notions voisines de comique et de grotesque ont été étudiées de longue date dans l’art médiéval, notamment par le biais du rire – grâce à l’historien Jacques le Goff, par exemple – ou du comique, en relation étroite avec le tragique et le sérieux – ainsi que l’ont montré les travaux d’Élisabeth Lalou –, la question du ridicule quant à elle demeure peu travaillée.

The sacred, the spiritual and the religious in contemporary global societies
Nakan, a learned society, is organising an international online Study day on Thursday 14 December 2023 at the Université des Antilles, entitled Le sacré, le spirituel et le religieux dans les sociétés globales contemporaines (The sacred, the spiritual and the religious in contemporary global societies). The aim is to examine the relationship that the Western man has today with the notions of the sacred, the spiritual and the religious, and to reassess the scope of the terms in question, in the light of literature, art, philosophy, anthropology, the sciences, the arts and cultural practices, etc. What status do these concepts hold in collective representations and imaginations? What is their semantic and semiological significance? What is their relationship with the notions of syncretism and supersyncretism? All these questions deserve to be rethought and discussed at a time of major paradigm shifts in Western societies.

Conférence internationale de la Fondation Croix-Rouge - Édition des dix ans
La conférence « Transition humanitaire : état d’une notion à l’épreuve des crises », co-organisée avec l’Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD) en partenariat avec l’Ecole des Affaires internationales (PSIA) de Sciences Po, sera le point d’orgue d’une série d’événements et de publications conduits tout au long de 2023, avec pour objectifs de dresser un bilan des dix années de recherche et de se projeter dans l’avenir. Le concept de transition humanitaire sera interrogé à la lumière des crises majeures et récentes. La publication « L’Essentiel, 10 ans de recherche au cœur des vulnérabilités », rassemblant des éléments de capitalisation et des pistes pour mieux comprendre et agir, sera lancée officiellement lors de la conférence.
