This seminar, organised in the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair Governance of Integrated Urban Sustainability in Europe (GoInUSE), proposes to discuss and disseminate the results of recent research and ongoing experiments on the multi-level and integrative governance of urban sustainability in Europe: its actors, processes and challenges, major experiments and themes in and around urban spaces. To this end, it brings together specialists in social sciences on the theme ‘Cities and energy in Europe’, notably the challenges of renewable energies and their scales, the relations between cities and territories in the energy transition in Europe, the socio-economic and housing dimensions, etc.

Forms, Iconographies, Materials, Uses and Cataloguing
To commemorate his third year of existence, the Ius Illuminatum research team organizes an international Conference on the topic: “The Illuminated Legal Manuscript from the Middle Ages to the Digital Age. Forms, Iconographies, Materials, Uses and Cataloguing”. The event intended to provide an overview of the development of research on illuminated legal manuscripts in Europe, on cataloging, digitization and materiality of these manuscripts with the aim of bringing together renowned experts on the subject and reflecting on the methodological implications and practical and theoretical challenges that this investigation entails.

Young researchers' perspectives
Les jeunes chercheurs ayant déjà accompli leur dépouillement et commencé la rédaction le savent bien, la recherche, à tous les stades de la thèse, nécessite une méthode. Or, cette méthode s’est souvent forgée progressivement et à l’épreuve des contraintes matérielles et scientifiques propres à leur terrain. Ils pourraient aujourd’hui faire part de leur expérience pour faire gagner du temps aux nouveaux venus et leur éviter erreurs et déconvenues. Les membres de l’Association française des jeunes historiens du droit seraient dès lors heureux d’écouter ces jeunes chercheurs en histoire du droit pour qu’ils partagent avec nous et l’audience leurs expériences, leurs méthodes et leurs conseils.

Systems: logic, diagrams and materialities
Pour son quatrième dossier thématique, la revue en ligne Design, Arts, Médias lance un appel à contribution autour des formes de logiques computationnelles au sein des pratiques du design, des arts et des médias. Le dossier, dirigé par Victor Guégan et Kim Sacks, entend réunir des articles qui s’efforceront de questionner les infrastructures logiques et techniques qui gouvernent les pratiques esthétiques dans leurs relations à l’émergence de la création assistée par ordinateur. Ce numéro mettra en valeur les articles abordant le concept d’implémentation – entendu comme la transposition d’une logique de système dans un médium/artefact – et analysant les idéologies gouvernant les productions graphiques assistées.

Euthanasia, assisted suicide and medical assistance in dying through the researchers' eyes
Les sociétés évoluent et changent leur pratique en matière d’euthanasie. Bien que certains pays aient légalisé l’euthanasie il y a plusieurs années, d’autres effectuent des consultations auprès de leurs populations pour déterminer si cette pratique est socialement acceptable. Au Québec, un débat mené de 2012 à 2015 a conduit à l'élaboration de la Loi sur les soins palliatifs qui a encadré et légalisé l’euthanasie sous le terme d'aide médicale à mourir (AMM). Que pouvons-nous tirer de l'expérience de cinq années de légalisation au Québec ? Les processus de deuils sont-ils modifiés ? Comment ce nouveau « soin » impacte-t-il les professionnels de santé ? Ce nouveau domaine d’étude fascine et de nombreux chercheurs s’interrogent sur la question.
