    Families and kinship

Families and kinship in the face of environmental upheaval: mutations and resistances?

Environmental changes have been impacting the living conditions of several populations around the world, at different times. In response to current climate changes, environmental policies encourage or imply profound changes in our ways of life. This conference proposes to examine in what ways do adaptations to environmental changes contribute, or could they contribute, to affect family life and/or kinship relationships.

    Diplomacy and Literature

“Diplomacy and Literature” aims to examine the link and permeability between literature and diplomacy. Are Diplomacy and Literature two concentric circles? How does one become a writer? How is the diplomat-writer experience conveyed via literature? What cultural practices are being used? Who serves as a source of inspiration for writers-diplomats? Does language become a vehicle of culture? What are their preferred literary genres? How does diplomacy inspire literature? What is the ‘writers-diplomats’ contribution into shaping international relations? These are some of the questions that participants in the Conference will be asked to consider.

    (Cyber)bullying

The Myth of Pentecost: literature, translation, theory, arts

While there are countless studies devoted to the readings, representations and interpretations of the biblical myth of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9), the rival narrative of the “miracle” of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4) and its reception have received much less attention. This applies both to the exegesis of the Bible text and to its various adaptations in literature, art, theory and translate on studies. While the myth of Babel has generally given rise to pessimistic conceptions of linguistic diversity, the episode of the “tongues of fire” descending on the Apostles, transforming them into universal translators-interpreters, capable of speaking and being heard in languages they have not learned, suggests a different vision of multilingualism, language, meaning, or translatability.

There and hereafter Chapels in ecclesial space of 17th -century France

The formal or functionalist analysis of sacred space tends to see the ecclesiastical building as a juxtaposition of clearly distinct spaces - the nave, the choir, or the transept - the separation of which would reflect, in particular, the difference in status (clerics and laity). It is clear that by returning to the modern definition of the chapel, which is attached not to a space but solely to an altar, this cartography of ecclesial space is immediately confused. This colloquium aims to study the place of chapels within the ecclesial space in 17th century France and to evaluate their role in the definition of religious sentiment.

The French aeronautical industries and the world: international cooperation and internationalisation strategies from the Liberation to the 1980s

This study day proposes to address several themes linked together by the relations that the French aeronautical industries have established and maintained with various countries and foreign aeronautical firms in a context of recovery, restructuring and development of this French industry. It is intended to highlight international industrial cooperation, its creation and implementation processes as well as the actors involved and their roles in these original partnerships. The aim of this study session is also to reveal the evolution of these forms of collective production and the specialisation of the actors involved during the period under consideration. Finally, it tends to show that far from being limited to industrial cooperation, the global ambition of French aeronautical firms also developed without foreign aid thanks to internationalisation strategies that evolved during the said period.

Refugees in the world: history and emergency

In mobilizing an intermedial as well as interdisciplinary approach, the aim of these two days is to reflect together on the various solutions (philosophical, material, legal, theological, devotional, etc.) implemented by modern Christianity in order to resolve an age-old paradox: how to reconcile the nature of human perception, which is above all sensory, with that of the object it is trying to perceive, and whose divine nature is precisely infinite, unattainable and elusive ?

Gay, lesbian and queer musicological research: Modest veil on classical music?

In the wake of the second generation of English gay, lesbian and queer studies, we aim to promote the questioning of French musicological practices, and then to produce new thought about composers, works and aesthetics, specifically in the classical music area. Would the scarcity of French musicological research dedicated to these issues be the result of a phenomenon of invisibilization? This epistemological point of view will allow us to reconsider Susan McClary’s words: to what degree could the disclosure or the concealment of a sexual orientation or gender identity enlighten musicological perspectives?

    The Sociology of Contemporary Art

    The fragment and its rhythms

Writing practices, sites of thought, acts of resistance

The 2023 edition of Post-Scriptum’s conference aims to explore the possibilities, limits and singularities of a fragmentation of discourse, be it narrative, poetical or critical. Through this conference’s various contributions, we would like to reflect on the following questions: what is produced by such a shattering of discourse? Does the fragmentary form create an opening, give motion to creativity? Offering a different epistemology, outside of the frame, can the fragment disturb an intellectual or creative landscape? Can it give the opportunity to retake speech, or give power to rewritings and counter-speeches?
