  Las identidades no sólo están relacionadas con las políticas de asimilación y exclusión en el contexto de los Estados-Nación, sino que también modelan la configuración territorial en relación con el espacio geográfico. Este último se convierte en un territorio para la acumulación de símbolos culturales que resultan de las diferentes actividades realizadas por una comunidad que vive en ese espacio dado. Para comprender lo que impulsa a diversas sociedades a resistir la desposesión de la tierra, a defender sus recursos y a oponerse a las economías políticas de los Estados, se necesitan nuevas metodologías y enfoques interdisciplinarios.

Additionally, this issue of Open Economics also invites research submissions on tax evasion and informal economy.   As the Renaissance Society of America is heading to La Nouvelle Orléans, this panel aims to take stockof two groundbreaking French art history texts currently celebrating,respectively, their 40th and 30th anniversary. Louis Marin’s To DestroyPainting and The Origin of Perspective by Hubert Damisch were bothtranslated into English and other languages, and had considerableimpact on art historical discussions around their topics. For this panel, we seek papers discussing one of these seminal books – or indeed both together – and the legacy of Damisch’s and Marin’s contributions to the discipline.

  3rd Paris Conference on Syndrome E

  The conference will bring together scientists and scholars from the human, social and brain sciences to bear upon the question of transformation of seemingly ordinary individuals to repetitive agents of extreme violence in groups (Syndrome E). The aim of the upcoming conference is to foster a multidisciplinary approach trying to elucidate the brain mechanisms of this behavior and its collective characteristics, and also to evoke the social, psychological, ethical and juridical aspects. The conference will be a culmination and synthesis of three years of studies and discussions and will conclude with plans for further actions.
