From May 25th to 27th, 2026, BeloHorizonte/MG - Brazil will once more be the site of the International Congress of Art, Science, and Technology and Digital Arts Seminar (11th CIACT-SAD). It has as its theme for this edition: “Artifices &Artefacts”. It emerges from techniques and poetics, from software and code, from manual and automated actions, but also from cultural and artistic objects—whether physical or not—born from production in the intersection of art, science, and technology. The theme of this edition reveals crossings between the analog and the digital without establishing hierarchies.

Since the 19^th century, the cyclical crises of our industrial societies have fuelled multiple initiatives aimed at envisioning another possible world. Yet recent decades have revealed a state of profound crisis that leads us to doubt, more radically than ever, the validity and sustainability of our ways of thinking and acting. Our futures are at stake, our models of society are being strained under the pressure of climate change, social and societal upheavals, public health crises, and political instability. In this context, human labour is an undeniable issue. In these times of transition, ways of thinking about and acting on work increasingly integrate the utopian dimension, which underlies the evolution of both the worlds of work and communities of life. This issue will therefore be an opportunity to take stock of the state of the art.

Vestígios do passado nas artes e letras afro-luso-brasileiras

Ces dernières années, plusieurs œuvres littéraires, audiovisuelles et artistiques ont abordé d’une manière différente le rapport au passé. Plutôt que de le figer comme une époque révolue, elles l’inscrivent dans le présent à travers des traces, des strates qui émergent au fil des récits et des représentations. Bien que de nombreuses intrigues se construisent au présent, et à l’époque de leur production, elles sont constamment traversées par le passé, non seulement à travers des références explicites, mais aussi par le biais d’empreintes subtiles qui hantent les personnages, les lieux et les dynamiques narratives. Ce colloque international propose d’examiner la façon dont les traces du passé s’inscrivent dans les œuvres audiovisuelles, littéraires et artistiques de l’univers afro-luso-brésilien. Il s’attachera à examiner comment les traces, les présences spectrales et les ruines, en tant que strates temporelles et mémorielles, hantent les imaginaires contemporains et nourrissent une réflexion sur la persistance du passé et ses résonances dans le présent.

Chamada para simpósios temáticos para I Congresso Internacional Afrofonia e I Semana de Estudos Africanos

O congresso e a semana têm como propósito congregar professores universitários, pesquisadores e estudiosos de Literaturas Africanas e suas diásporas, a fim de divulgar as pesquisas acadêmicas e, também, aquelas aplicadas ao ensino. A primeira edição do congresso coincide com o centenário de nascimento do importante investigador da área, Frantz Fanon, a quem será dedicado ao menos um simpósio temático, palestras e mesas de debate. Outrossim, o evento tem em seu nome, “Afrofonia”, a reverberação da existência africana nos muitos espaços geográficos do globo e na presença desse continente no trabalho acadêmico e escolar, como forma de conscientização da contribuição do povo africano à História do mundo.

A celebração dos 400 anos da fundação da Congregação da Missão serve-nos de mote para compreender o papel que não só esta como outras congregações tiveram no mundo católico. Embora tenha sido no século XIX que o movimento congreganista conheceu a sua maior expansão, ao longo da Época Moderna movimentos como os Espiritanos, Marianos, Oratorianos, Passionistas ou Teatinos (além dos Jesuítas) tiveram um papel marcante no campo das práticas e ideias religiosas, bem como na formação quer do clero quer dos crentes ou na difusão de modelos de comportamento cristão e de educação católica.
