What forests do to energy counter-mobilizations

    Modes of action, politicization, alliances

Plurilingualism and the circulation of knowledge, imaginations, and skills

What are the dynamics and vulnerabilities?

In L’économie du XXe siècle (The Economy of the 20th Century), François Perroux stated that “we do not have a comprehensive, coherent and usable theory of what I propose to call the ’domination effect’”  Why talk about relations of domination when we are dealing with the circulation of knowledge, imaginaries, and skills in relation to linguistic diversity? When there is circulation, movement, transfer, there are differences in level, which means that knowledge, imaginations and skills do not emerge everywhere at the same time and in the same way, giving rise to differences, imbalances and potential conflicts.

    Feminist Utopias at Work

    Reorganise, Redefine, Abolish

Although feminist utopias have been the object of an important body of work especially in the literary field, the specific paradigm of labour within these experiments and imaginaries has received only limited attention. The purpose of this conference is to explore to what extent and in what ways labour (both as a site of oppression and emancipation) serves as a paradigm in feminist utopia-building.  We will use the concept of utopia  both as a reflexive tool for critique and as a heuristic tool for transformation.

Anecdotes: Theory and Practice of Narrative

    Journal Communications (2027) - varia

Across academic disciplines, the use of anecdote has received little attention. This despite the fact that they punctuate our professional and social practices : they are the stuff of our writing, our teaching, and our conversations. Present in the many sources, data, and materials that sustain the humanities and social sciences, anecdotes are also often decisive in the choice of our research objects. The freedom of tone that characterizes anecdotes allows overlooked or undervalued subjects to emerge, reshaping disciplines and their objects of study. The rise of research focused on marginalized people, social groups, and issues owes much to a renewed interest in sources once deemed unreliable – reported speech, hearsay, gossip, or indeed anecdote.

How do children engage in ritualised daily practices and rituals?

    Islamophobia(s): North African Perspectives

The concept of Islamophobia is widely used in studies on racism, discrimination, and security policies in Europe, it remains more prevalent in Anglophone scholarship than in Francophone academic debates. the concept has received little attention in the Maghreb (North Africa), despite the region’s close and multifaceted historical, political, and social connections to the phenomenon. We invite researchers to engage with the concept of Islamophobia, as well as with related notions (such as hatred, hostility, discrimination, or racism directed against Muslims, Islam, Arabs, or North Africans), from one or more Maghrebi perspectives, in order to discuss the term’s scholarly relevance.

Urban Metamorphoses: Socio-Spatial Dynamics in Arab Cities

    Revue « EchoGéo »

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the Arab world has undergone rapid urbanization. Today, global cities in the region such as Doha and Dubai have themselves become exporters of new urban paradigms to the wider Arab world and beyond. This issue of EchoGéo aims to explore these urban metamorphoses through a multidisciplinary and comparative approach, connecting dynamics across North Africa and the Middle East, and to bridge three elements: understanding the forces that deeply transform Arab cities, examining how they unfold in concrete places, and giving full attention to the resistances, detours, and inventions that redraw urban life.

The integration of digital technology into language teaching has transformed traditional pedagogical approaches, facilitating access to a wider range of interactive and personalized resources.

In a now-celebrated text, Denis Richet analyzed how the monarchy shaped itself. In its second year, this webinar invites participants to build on his analysis by shifting the focus to the institutional, individual, and collective actors who, in their daily exercise of sovereignty, worked to shape their own offices, challenge the orders they received, and invent an ancient origin for their practices. These practices were often recently established as a result of political manoeuvres, disgrace, or dynastic change.
