  Le Centre de recherche Cultures – Arts – Sociétés (CELAT) s’engage à contribuer financièrement à la réalisation de deux stages postdoctoraux, dont la direction sera assurée par un-e ou plusieurs membres cochercheurs ou cochercheuses du Centre. Un montant accordé de 25 000 $ CA  permettra aux candidat-es de réaliser un stage d’une durée minimale de six mois, durant l’année universitaire 2023-2024, dans une université autre que celle où le doctorat a été obtenu. Le comité de sélection priorisera les dossiers de candidature dans lesquels un montage financier a été trouvé afin que la durée du stage soit prolongée.

  Revue « Parcours anthropologiques »

  This issue of Parcours Anthropologiques calls upon researchers in a wider sense (who define themselves as theorists and/or practitioners), from various areas and disciplines, in and beyond the social sciences. We invite contributions that privilege reflection on “new” “graphies”, with particular attention to the concrete and sense-oriented dimensions of experience and to the dialogue between what is experienced, what is thought and techniques that are mobilized. This issue is an opportunity to draw an initial state of the art of works and reflection on that topic and to engage in diverse exploration of ways that open up to the sensorial, practical and theoretical stakes of a “Corps&Graphies” project.

Cette journée permettra notamment aux masterant·e·s et doctorant·e·s qui engagent leurs travaux sur la Bolivie d’échanger avec des chercheur·es spécialistes de cette aire géographique.

  Studying Demands for State

  From Practical Tensions to Generalised Crises

  This study day intends to interrogate the notion of “demand for state” in different fields and from different social sciences disciplines such as sociology, history and political sciences. By “demand for State” we mean the process by which social groups come to invoke a certain ideal of the state through criticism, demands and reflexive practices. We will pay attention to the different levels at which these demands for State become manifest, in order to open up some major areas of discussion: how to overcome the 'civil society/State' opposition, the emergence of demands for a social State in different historical and national contexts, or the place of demands for State in generalised crises.

Segato s’attache à y décrire les violences systémiques faites aux femmes, à montrer qu’elles sont le terreau de toutes les autres formes de violence, et à dégager les conditions d’une politique au féminin.

  Les funérailles font-elles la paix ?

  Approches pluridisciplinaires des réinhumations collectives en contextes de mort de masse (XX-XXIe siècles)

  Ce colloque international constitue l’évènement scientifique de clôture du programme de recherche Transfunéraire financé par l’ANR de 2020 à 2023. Ce programme visait à étudier les fonctions symboliques et sociales assignées aux, et assumées par, les funérailles collectives dans les contextes contemporains marqués par la violence extrême ou des crise de mortalité. En analysant de façon comparative des inhumations collectives conduites en Europe et en Amérique Latine, il s’agissait de comprendre dans quelle mesure les funérailles constituaient un des ressorts de la résilience des sociétés marquées par la mort de masse au XX^e siècle. Au-delà d’une interrogation sur les modalités et les enjeux de ces rituels intégrant un questionnement sur l’impact des exhumations, désormais incontournable dans tous ces contextes, notre objectif était de mieux saisir les transformations à l’œuvre dans le champ du funéraire.

  Innovations en santé mentale : état des lieux et perspectives

  Une personne sur cinq présente un trouble psychique ou mental. Si l’on sait depuis longtemps combien ces états de souffrance et ces pathologies sont prégnantes, elles ont été révélées au grand jour par les indicateurs de santé mentale populationnelle au cours de la crise sanitaire. Pour répondre aux défis du diagnostic, de la détection précoce, de la prise en charge, de la prévention, de la déstigmatisation de ces troubles et de l’accompagnement tout le long du rétablissement, des approches novatrices se déploient, pour rendre tout un chacun acteur de sa propre santé mentale, mais aussi pour favoriser une meilleure prise en compte de l’expertise des patients et de leurs aidants dans les services. Mieux soigner, c’est aussi prendre en compte ceux qui nous soignent et leur environnement de travail, et surtout, à l’heure d’un tournant gestionnaire, « soigner l’hôpital », institution susceptible de se révéler pathogène pour celles et ceux qui y exercent.

  Les terrains israélo-palestiniens : enjeux méthodologiques, épistémologiques et politiques

  Cette journée d’étude s’inscrit dans la continuité d’un courant de réflexion s’intéressant aux défis du terrain au Proche et au Moyen-Orient, et a pour objectif de se consacrer particulièrement aux espaces israélo-palestiniens comme terrains de recherche. Soumis à des dominations impériales, mandataires et coloniales et traversé par de concurrentes revendications nationalistes, ce territoire est, depuis la fin du XIX^e siècle, le théâtre d’une colonisation qui modifie régulièrement l’espace et l’organisation sociale. Quelles sont les problématiques auxquelles doivent faire face les chercheur·es travaillant sur les terrains israélo-palestiniens ? Quels sont les effets et les apports de ces difficultés sur le façonnement de l’objet d’étude, mais aussi sur le positionnement et la représentation du ou de la chercheur·e ?

  From the Grand Tour to Orient-Express: curiosity, exploration, sociability

  In this colloquium, we propose to study how the travelers crossing the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean, between the “Grand Tour en Orient” and the Orient-Express, were able to apprehend these countries, their inhabitants, and their past. Our aim is to explore the social representations of travelers, as well as those of the populations they visited. Without limiting ourselves to reproducing the classic schemes for understanding these discourses, indebted to Edward Saïd, we shall historicize, contextualize and define these ambivalent perceptions according to the geopolitical considerations, ideological orientations, and personal affinities of those who produced these discourses.

  The aim of this Study day is to examine the dynamics, interactions and tensions between the polysemic notions of margin and mainstream in post-1945 English-speaking areas. More specifically, we will examine the modalities and dynamics of exchange and movement from one category to the other, as well as the way in which they take on their meaning in varied and variable political, media, sociological and cultural contexts. Proposals may thus highlight thematic issues in relation to the phenomena studied, such as marginalised or militant histories, critical or methodological thoughts about mediation mechanisms, conceptualisation issues or personal and collective positioning.

  The Armenian Genocide: New Interpretations and Cross-Disciplinary Conversations

  The study of the Armenian genocide often remains confined to restricted circles of specialists and interdisciplinarity is too rarely promoted. And, although comparative research is praised, it is frequently reduced to the juxtaposition of case studies. Research on the Armenian genocide is now ready to address more cross-cutting issues and to fully contribute to broader discussions on mass violence. Therefore, this conference asks: how can the social sciences, memory studies, and genocide studies contribute to a broader understanding of the Armenian genocide and its aftermath? And reciprocally: what is the contribution of research on the Armenian genocide to our understanding of mass crimes and to the social sciences?

  In the framework of a study day, we propose to reflect on the values accorded to living beings (humans and animals) in the medieval West from the 5th to the 15th century. They are characterised by their market, utilitarian and symbolic value. In addition to this, there are the considerations and knowledge that medieval people had of their fellow human beings and their environment (fauna and trees). Finally, the event proposes to look at these questions in the context of reflections on medievalism. As the issues are diverse, we are making the whole range of humanities and social sciences disciplines.

  Giving research feedback to children: beyond ready-made recipes and asymmetric relationships

  Bringing together social scientists who do fieldwork with children or young people and wish to renew the methodology and the sense of their feedback of research results, we aim at working in a collaborative and innovative way by cross-cutting fields and disciplines. Methodological publications usually include ready-made tools. While they make it possible to avoid the worst, they often do not consider the overall social and cultural context in which children live; they may also be adults-centered and based on stereotypical representations of childhood. During a day and a half, participants will exchange in order to help each other to elaborate a visual or performance-based feedback of their research grounded in the daily life of children and youth, their communication codes and potential expectations.
