Mutations de l’aéronautique et du spatial (XVIIIe-XXIe siècle)
Ce nouveau séminaire, organisé par le laboratoire Histoire des technosciences en société (HT2S) du Conservatoire national des arts et métiers, offre un espace de discussion régulier pour les chercheuses et chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales intéressés par l’aéronautique et le spatial. Il vise à questionner le développement de ces activités sous leurs différentes formes (aérostation, aviation, missiles et lanceurs, spatial) et à l’inscrire dans l’histoire des sociétés humaines.

Cet appel à contribution se propose d’interroger les usages et significations des idées de « progrès » et d’« innovation » - qu’elles soient en rapport avec la technologie, l’économie, la politique, la religion ou la culture - au cours du long XVIIIe siècle et leurs impacts sur les pratiques sociales. Il s’attachera à mesurer les effets de l’innovation sous toutes ses formes (technique, politique, économique, artistique, littéraire, etc.) sur les sociabilités dans les sociétés européennes et coloniales. Il sera également intéressant d’envisager la sociabilité elle-même comme une innovation conceptuelle et sociale.

Perspectives franco-allemandes et internationales
Ce colloque propose d’étudier les formes d’émergence, de structuration et de régulation des marchés du travail intellectuel en France, en Allemagne et plus largement en Europe et à l’international, entre le milieu du XVIIIe et le milieu du XXe siècle. L’objectif est de proposer une approche variée, d’histoire sociale et politique, mais aussi économique et culturelle pour comprendre les luttes de définition autour de ce qu’est une profession intellectuelle, les débats autour de l’ouverture ou au contraire de la fermeture des carrières ou encore les mécanismes d’économisation du travail intellectuel afin d’enrichir l’étude historique des conceptions qu’avaient les contemporains des années 1750-1940 du marché du travail intellectuel.

It intends to move beyond traditional research, so as to map out the social and cultural dynamics of this precious and versatile material in Renaissance Europe.

Working Group on ‘Risk, Health, and State Socialism: Central and Eastern Europe, 1950s-1980s’
While much of this historiography has focused on liberal democracies, less attention has been given to how concepts of risk operated in state socialist contexts. Building on recent studies in the history of medicine and health, we invite scholars to join a working group examining risk, health, and medicine under state socialism in Central and Eastern Europe. To what extent did state socialist regimes recognize certain health and medical issues as ‘governable’ through risk? What kinds of practices and ideas emerged in response? And were there differences or similarities between state socialist and liberal democratic models of risk in healthcare and medicine? Our aim is to take an exploratory approach to discuss whether, and in what contexts, the concept of risk can be applied to state socialism, and to examine the risk-related practices, ideas, and technologies observed in healthcare and medicine in state socialism.

Sources, scope, and legitimacy of critical economic knowledge
The study of economic knowledge and its political influence has largely focused on central sites of power and on its academic production. This conference seeks to broaden that perspective by examining marginalized economic knowledge and the dynamics of its (de-)marginalization. It will specifically address the development of lay or relegated economic theories and practices, considering their logic of legitimation, the actors, spaces, and actions that generate them, and their relative autonomy. The conference will concentrate on the long twentieth century and welcomes proposals from all disciplines within the humanities and social sciences.

Hybride, hybridité, hybridation
Revue « Communications » (2026)
Qu’est-ce qu’un hybride ? Au sens propre, ce terme désigne un être biologique né de deux individus appartenant à des espèces distinctes. Par métaphore, il s’applique aujourd’hui à de multiples domaines culturels et sociaux. Dans ce volume, nous nous proposons d’interroger la signification première de ce concept, en explorant ses usages en biologie et ses retombées en paléontologie humaine et en préhistoire. On interrogera également ses utilisations en anthropologie. Enfin, nous pourrons relier ces interrogations aux tendances modernes à la valorisation esthétique de l’hybridité, dans le champ artistique, en particulier muséal. Nous attendons spécifiquement pour cet appel des propositions portant sur l’histoire des savoirs et des concepts scientifiques en rapport avec la notion d’hybridation, ou encore sur ses usages dans les pratiques de l’agronomie.

Energy transitions and economic thinking in German-speaking territories, 1800-2000
ETRANHET explores how economic ideas on energy have developed in various market-economy contexts around the world, since the first waves of industrialization at the turn of the 19th century. It particularly addresses three key questions: (1) How did past economists (broadly defined) conceive the connection between energy, growth, and development? (2) How did they consider innovation and technological change in energy affairs? (3) How did economic discourse on energy influence policymaking, and vice versa? Areas covered by the project include Continental Europe, the British Isles, North and Latin America, South-East Asia, and some areas under colonial control. This workshop will be an opportunity to look more closely at German-speaking territories within Continental Europe.

Cerveau-machine : modèles et fictions
Neurosciences et intelligence artificielle en miroir
Au gré de leur invention, les machines, envisagées comme de véritables organismes artificiels, ont fourni aux humains des modèles heuristiques et souvent inédits d'intelligibilité du vivant. À la manière dont les automates et les machines hydrauliques ont pu nourrir la physiologie mécaniste cartésienne, les ordinateurs ont offert des modèles éclairants pour saisir le fonctionnement opératoire du cerveau et des processus biologiques sous-jacents qui l’animent. Ces modèles hétérogènes et bien souvent concurrents du « cerveau-machine » constituent l’un des socles fondamentaux à partir duquel se sont élaborés les savoirs positifs des sciences cognitives et des neurosciences computationnelles au cours de la deuxième moitié du XXe siècle. Cette conférence organisée dans le cadre du programme Hyperhumain, propose d'interroger, à partir d’un regard pluridisciplinaire, les fonctions et le rôle de la fiction du cerveau-machine tant dans l'élaboration des modèles scientifiques que dans l'imaginaire collectif.

Individual and Collective Issues in the History and Philosophy of Economics
Workshop organized prior to the 7th “International Conference Economics and Philosophy”
From the individual to the collective level, is there an insurmountable step ? The categories of “individual” and “collective” can be useful to shed light on the objects of study in economic methodology and the history of economic thought. Whether it is for policy-design or for scientific claims, can one start from the individual level to deduce policies or scientific claims at the collective level ? Can we explain macro-level phenomena simply by looking at their micro-foundations ? The aim of this workshop will be to analyze how these relations shape economics as a scientific field. We, thus, encourage proposals that aim to interrogate the individual among the collective – as in the micro-foundation of macroeconomics models for instance – and vice versa the collective among the individual – as in the performativity of economic theories to the individual for instance. The aim of this workshop is to bring together young researchers to question the lenses by which one can analyze economics, philosophy of economics and history of economic thought.
