Retour et restitution des biens culturels africains acquis en contextes coloniaux
9eme édition des Rencontres des études africaines de France
Cet atelier a pour ambition de faire le point sur la situation de la problématique de la restitution des biens culturels africains acquis depuis la colonisation et presqu’exclusivement conservés jusqu’aujourd’hui en Europe, 8 ans après la prise de position historique du président Macron à Ouagadougou le 28 novembre 2017. Il se présente donc comme un moment d’évaluation, une pause pour analyser les différentes stratégies mises en place pour gérer cette question entre l’Afrique et l’Europe depuis cette bascule historique. En s’appuyant sur les exemples français et allemands pour illustrer les changements survenus en Europe depuis 2017, ce panel se propose aussi d’être le lieu de confrontation scientifique des postures des acteurs africains de la restitution. Bien plus, il se veut une occasion partage d’expérience et un moment de réflexion cordiale dont le but est de créer et de renforcer la mise en réseau de chercheurs travaillant sur cette problématique.

The construction of the Central Asia Consultative Forum
Three postulates substantiate the present colloquium (to be edited by P. Chabal). They further existing research by bringing together scholars from Western/Eastern Eurasia, and from Central/South Asia, covering the whole of ‘the New Eurasia in the making’. Proposed papers are meant to explore specific aspects of the construction of the new Central Asia, following the establishment of a number of innovative organisations in the region : the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the Eurasian Economic Union, as the two core such organisations, respectively in 2001 and 2015.

La dimension internationale est centrale dans cet appel mais peut aussi bien se retrouver dans l’appréhension des relations interétatiques, que dans celle des dynamiques transnationales et dans l’étude des lieux d’échanges. Les contributions peuvent aborder les convergences et divergences, analyser les pratiques et transferts culturels, explorer la dimension internationale des émotions ou des réseaux, considérer la question du genre, ou s’intéresser à divers objets d’étude et types d’acteurs. Des propositions étudiant les manifestations d’un phénomène transnational dans un ou plusieurs pays seront accueillies avec un intérêt égal. Une priorité sera toutefois apportée à des études impliquant la France, l’Allemagne ou, de façon plus générale, l’Europe.

À l’ordre du jour des agendas politiques et médiatiques internationaux depuis quelques années, la question de la restitution des biens culturels africains spoliés pendant les siècles précédents continue d’être appréhendée majoritairement sous un prisme occidentalo-centré. Au cœur des échanges et discussions qui alimentent ce processus s’invitent des thématiques axées sur les cadres juridiques des pays détenteurs, leurs définitions de l’« objet d’art » ou de l’« artefact », de même que sur l’universalité du musée de type occidental. Les entités disputées se trouvent être aussi au centre de réalités complexes, de motivations et de dynamiques se déployant au sein des sociétés africaines, et qui sont méconnues dans leurs lieux d’exil.

L’objectif de ce dossier d’Almanack, la revue d’histoire de l’Université fédérale de São Paulo est de rassembler des articles de recherche originaux explorant, sous un angle historique, les acteurs, les thématiques et les scénarios qui ont structuré les relations colombo-brésiliennes au cours du long XIXᵉ siècle. Nous privilégierons les contributions issues de l’histoire politique, diplomatique, économique et transnationale, sans exclure les apports de l’histoire sociale ou culturelle traitant des questions internationales proposées. L’usage rigoureux des sources primaires constituera un critère essentiel pour la sélection des articles.

According to some specialists, sport is a universal phenomenon which, in various forms, has always existed. For others, the existence of sport in Antiquity cannot be envisaged because, at that time, it was a cultural practice with a strong religious dimension. Whatever these debates, sport can be defined as an activity practiced alone or in a group, an activity requiring physical qualities, strength, skill, reflexes, endurance, and moral qualities. Practitioners observe rules specific to each sport, exercise for their own pleasure, their health or compete in competitions. This activity is partially institutionalized: many sportsmen and women join specialized clubs, affiliated to federations that define regulations and organize official competitions, Olympic Games, world, national and regional championships, tournaments, grand prix, land or sea races, etc.

This special issue of Revue internationale des études du développement examines the possible ‘end of international aid’ following the Trump administration's freeze on US development programmes and the closure of USAID, in a context of European budget cuts. It aims to analyse, from a multidisciplinary and empirical perspective, the current changes in the sector. The call invites empirical, situated and multidisciplinary analyses—political science, sociology, economics, history, anthropology or geography—to understand the new dynamics, controversies and struggles that are transforming the field of international aid.

The aim of this conference is to examine the modalities and consequences of terrorist action, as well as the interweaving of anti-terrorist practices (public policies, legal frameworks, prevention) and counter-terrorist practices (operational, military or police actions) aimed at containing terrorism in societies which are not engaged in international warfare. The aim of this conference is to analyse the ways in which anti-terrorism and counter-terrorism have mutually redefined each other, while constantly reconfiguring the boundaries of political, military, police and legal interventions across the European continent from the second half of the 20th century onwards.In addition to this political and institutional approach, the conference will also look into the representations, as well as the social and media effects of these phenomena.

Corporate actors have played a hidden yet highly influential role in shaping the global order, often securing their interests in international organizations, such as the League of Nations and the United Nations. Extractive industries, which focus on natural resources such as oil, gas, minerals, and metals, including rare earths, were the bedrock of capitalism in the long twentieth century. How did they exert their influence within, through and against international organizations? What tools did they adopt to attain their goals at global metropoles such as Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Geneva, New York, and Santiago? Who challenged their efforts and who supported them and how? What effects did formal decolonization have on the role of extractive enterprise in these global spaces?

L’interconnexion des capacités stratégiques hautes (ICSH)
L’Institut d’études de stratégie et de défense (IESD), en partenariat avec le Direction générale des relations internationales et de la stratégie (DGRIS), organisera les 24, 25 et 26 novembre 2025 son congrès de recherche. Synthèse du premier programme quinquennal de recherche effectué dans le cadre du label « Centre d’Excellence » du ministère des Armées, cet événement qui se veut un espace de discussion scientifique et de rassemblement de la communauté des chercheurs sur les études stratégiques, se déroulera sur trois jours à Lyon au sein de l’université Jean Moulin Lyon III. Dans ce cadre, est lancé un appel à contributions pour constituer les tables rondes thématiques autour desquelles s’organisera le congrès.

Comment les pratiques artistiques dans la Grande Caraïbe décrivent-elles, reflètent-elles et réimагinent-elles les crises environnementales contemporaines ? Cet appel à contributions pour un numéro spécial d’Études Caribéennes explore l’intersection entre arts et environnement face aux défis écologiques majeurs de la région caribéenne : élévation du niveau de la mer, prolifération des sargasses, intensification des ouragans, et pollution. Ce numéro sollicite des approches transdisciplinaires s'inspirant des arts et humanités, des sciences environnementales, de l’écocritique et de la pensée décoloniale (cette liste n'est pas exhaustive). Les contributions examineront comment artistes, communautés et institutions culturelles participent à l'émergence de nouvelles collaborations science-société, utilisant l’art comme outil de sensibilisation et d’action environnementale dans l’archipel caribéen.
