  Las Jornadas de los jóvenes americanistas es un evento organizado por y para universitarios que se encuentran en el inicio de su carrera de investigación, con el fin de proponer un espacio de discusión interdisciplinaria e internacional, abierto a las diferentes disciplinas y metodologías de las Ciencias Sociales y Humanas. Las octavas JJA, Espacios y lugares de los conflictos, se desarrollarán en forma simultánea en Lima, los días 3, 4 y 5 de julio de 2017, y en Madrid, los días 3 y 4 de julio de 2017. Esta edición será una oportunidad para establecer nuevos puentes de reflexión científica y de colaboración entre América Latina y Europa.

  Call for sessions of Collège international des sciences du territoire (CIST2018)

  After three conferences that have successively sought to define and lay the foundations for territorial sciences (CIST2011 in French), to go beyond disciplinary frontiers and boundaries (CIST2014 in French), namely through interdisciplinary collaboration, and to explore territorial social demand (CIST2016 in French), the 4^th CIST conference is aimed at mobilising the territorial sciences to address the question of representation. The conference’s objective is to use this approach and to determine its contribution to the analysis of territories from a theoretical, methodological and empirical point of view.

  There are many studies in the social sciencestracing the history of social work and analyzing its practices, but the diversity of the spaces in which this practice takes place is rarely a central focus. Indeed, social work operates in a multitude of physical and social spaces – urban, periurban and rural areas, city centres and suburbs, working-class neighbourhoods and slum districts, public and private spaces, open and closed environments, involving publics that may be captive, sedentary, nomadic or itinerant. And the relationships between these publics and their respective spaces are multiple as well.

  Ce colloque, tourné vers la Loire qui coule à Orléans ainsi que vers des fleuves qui caractérisent des villes-fleuves du monde, a pour ambition d’étudier les histoires d’eau et d’art racontées de l’Antiquité à l’époque contemporaine. Nous souhaitons mettre l’accent sur les deux manières modernes de penser les relations qu’entretiennent la nature et les hommes, à savoir la géocritique et l’écocritique ; il s’agira d’entrecroiser et d’entrelacer les champs épistémologiques, toutes les disciplines étant les bienvenues, lettres classiques et modernes, histoire de l’art, histoire, géographie, écologie, philosophie, droit, etc., dans une transversalité qui sera l’un des intérêts majeurs du colloque.

  Work and Cities

  Debating new forms of work and employment and work organization in cities

  Urbanization has been and remains deeply entrenched with forms of economic organization and of work. Nevertheless, the interdependencies of cities and work have created little dialogue between the fields of urban studies and the sociology of work. Even though work has such a structuring function for everyday lives in cities, we hardly look into cities through the lens of ‘work’, how this structures everyday movements and experiences, the exercise of collective power, or the production and reproduction of social life in the city. This panel aims at bringing together and interrelating these subject areas in order to discuss changing forms of production and work relations in cities. Our main aim is to discuss issues of global urban justice in the sense of urban inequalities arising around the changing spatial and practical manifestations of work.

  What Spaces are there for the Representation of First Nations and Inuit Artistic and Cultural Expression in the City?

  As part of the programming of the 375th anniversary of Montreal, the many stories surrounding its spaces and the pluralité of the voices occupying the metropole are being presented and celebrated. Despite the increasing number of Indigenous peoples living or passing through the city, the history of First Nations as well as their numerous present-day projects based in Montreal are maginalized by the official program. This underrepresentation of Indigenous communities in urbain settings seems to be characteristic of a larger Noth American reality. For artists and researchers in the field of arts and literature, among others, the following question arises: what spaces in urbain centers are dedicated to Indigenous artistic representation?

Depuis, ce mot fait également écho aux matières premières, bois, roche et minerai ; il désigne les lieux où elles sont entreposées, à partir desquels leur extraction est réalisée. Son acception contemporaine la plus fréquente permet de dénommer le terrain à l’intérieur duquel démolitions, réparations et constructions sont en cours de réalisation, mais aussi la séquence, d’ordinaire transitoire, durant laquelle une configuration matérielle succède à une autre.

  La frontière renvoie à des espaces aux natures protéiformes au sein desquels circulent et s'enracinent des êtres dont les repères et référents sociaux, culturels et ontologiques sont bousculés, dont les identités sont constamment en proie à des changements consécutifs à la rencontre avec l'Autre et le non-familier, à l'interaction avec des modes inédits de produire leurs assises dans le monde. Au coeur de cadres parfois tragiques et traumatiques, le regard ethno-anthropologique s'attache particulièrement à décrire et comprendre les constructions identitaires et les rapports qu'entretiennent les migrants avec eux-mêmes, leurs racines et les mondes qu'ils traversent. Cette journée d'étude a pour vocation d'éclairer par comparatisme les multiples dimensions humaines du vécu migratoire avec, en toile de fond épistémologique, la question de savoir dans quelle mesure l'exercice de l'ethnographie et de l'anthropologie de la mobilité peut conduire à une remise en perspective de la discipline.

  L’ambiguïté et la polysémie de la notion de « bien commun » (et, plus généralement, de « commun ») la conduisent à faire l’objet d’approches aux objectifs scientifiques et/ou politiques qui peuvent être différents, voire opposés. Pourtant, elle donne lieu à un nombre croissant de publications depuis le début des années 2000, surtout depuis l’attribution du « Nobel d’économie » à Elinor Ostrom en 2009. L’objectif de ce dossier thématique de la revue Développement durable et territoires est de recueillir des textes qui permettent de traiter spécifiquement des liens croisés entre les dimensions matérielles et immatérielles des communs, y compris de manière critique, à travers des domaines variés.
