Prácticas y usos de la escritura en el imperio español

Seminario Transcribir América

“Transcribir América” es un proyecto de investigación sobre las estrategias escriturales elaboradas por los actores coloniales para dar a ver / “transcribir” las lejanas Indias españolas a las élites metropolitanas (siglos XV-XVIII). Asimismo, apunta a difundir el corpus de las fuentes estudiadas en una colección en construcción: el “Archivo Digital de Indias”. El seminario anual apunta a crear una red de historiadores para: discutir el concepto de “transcripción de América” e iniciar el debate a partir de estudios de casos procedentes de todas las áreas geográficas de las Indias españolas (América, África, Asia) entre los siglos XV y XVIII ; constituir un corpus de las fuentes manuscritas estudiadas y difundirlo valorando las transcripciones paleográficas (y las imágenes digitalizadas si existen) en el proyecto de colección del Archivo Digital de Indias.

Plusieurs communications et une table ronde seront consacrées aux différentes formes et à la mesure du travail à l’échelle des empires, retenant pour l’essentiel les empires coloniaux, mais sans exclure d’autres configurations. Ce colloque réunira des chercheurs plus ou moins avancés dans la recherche, issus de différents continents, pour s’interroger collectivement à la fois sur les différentes façons d’évaluer, de rémunérer et de comptabiliser l’activité productive, et sur les manières de mobiliser, compter, encadrer et classer les travailleurs. Les héritages des situations coloniales et de domination seront pris en compte pour aborder le sujet dans la longue période, des XVIII^e au XXI^e siècle.

Chile 1970-1973 in a transnational key. From the “Chilean road to socialism” to the military dictatorship

Este coloquio busca analizar con una perspectiva transnacional el ciclo clave de la historia de Chile que se extiende desde los primeros días de la Unidad Popular (UP) en hasta el desmantelamiento de la «vía chilena al socialismo» (1970-1973). Nos interrogaremos sobre el impacto y la influencia internacional que la posibilidad de construir el socialismo por vías institucionales ejerció en las diversas fuerzas de izquierda más allá de las fronteras del país. Veremos también cómo el ascenso de Allende activó redes transnacionales de derecha y demócrata-cristianas, organizando transnacionalmente la oposición a la UP. El influjo ideológico del Golpe de Estado de 1973 también será evaluado.

Based on the pioneering work of Bento Prado Júnior and Franklin Leopoldo e Silva, Bergsonian studies have developed significantly in Brazil over the last twenty years. This includes a thematic diversity that allows a rich dialogue with other scholars around the world. This Webseminar will be an occasion to discuss the potentialities of Bergon’s work, explored in an original way through the diversity of schools and academic backgrounds of all continents. We hope to encourage and foster discussions in a concrete practice of “ouverture” – mental, cultural and social – renewing questions and problematizations around three themes: spirit and life, Bergson and the history of philosophy, Bergson and contemporary philosophy.

Lors de cette journée d’étude, nous nous proposons d’explorer la polysémie du vocable « mouvement » qui ouvre, à notre sens, un large éventail épistémologique et disciplinaire lié aux féminisme(s) dans l’aire hispanophone (Amérique latine, Espagne et Guinée Équatoriale). Nous recueillerons donc des propositions de communication qui se centreront sur les productions artistiques « en mouvement ». Nous faisons ainsi appel aux chercheur·es spécialisé·es dans les études de genre, les études culturelles, les études hispaniques et hispano-américaines, l’histoire de l’art, les arts plastiques, les sciences politiques, la sociologie ou encore l’anthropologie.

The Institute of Development Studies of the Sorbonne (IEDES), University Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and the European Association of Development Studies and Training Institutes (EADI) are organising an international study day on cross-readings on and from the South in development studies. Three round tables will be organised (in English and French). The first will question the notion of the “traveller model” proposed by Jean-Pierre Olivier de Sardan, the second will explore the local modalities of crisis governance in the Sahel, and the third will give the floor to doctoral students enrolled in development studies on the subject of the contributions, limits and realities of the multidisciplinarity claimed by development studies.

Latin American Oil Revolutions in the Development Century project (Graduate Institute Geneva)

Postdoctoral position as part of the SNSF-funded “AnthropoSouth”: Latin American Oil Revolutions in the Development Century Eccellenza Project, under the leadership of Prof. Antoine Acker (Department of International History and Politics). The researcher will be affiliated to the Centre for International Environmental Studies (CIES) at IHEID. The major innovation of the project is to develop the first research team that will seek to build a place for Latin America as a continent in the Anthropocene narrative. By shedding light on chains of political intentionality that pursued alternatives to the Western capitalist energy model, this new geographic perspective will make a substantial contribution to pluralizing and denaturalizing the history of human-induced geological and climatic change.

The expressive wealth of dialogue presents itself in numerous artistic and intellectual ways. The encounters between emotional and aesthetic resources, pedagogical and didactic purposes, as well as between claims of objectivity and scientific rigor, are fertile ground for the transdisciplinary inquiry characteristic of classical studies. This invites a diversity and multiplicity of perspectives for contributions in relation to ancient authors and their works. Investigating the history of dialogue since Antiquity also allows us to consider it as an archetype for the exchange of opinions and ideas. This is suitable for dealing with current problems that increasingly require the willingness to negotiate and rethink ideas and convictions, empathize with the feelings of others, and build agreements based on the examination of opposing arguments and points of view.

Artis - Art history institute of the school of arts and humanities, university of Lisbon, promotes the History of art today – Modus operandi symposium, on the occasion of Professor Vítor Serrão’s retirement (b.1952). To the tribute that is due to one of the most influential Portuguese art historians in recent decades, there is also a tribute to another great name in national art history, professor José-Augusto França (1922-2021), celebrating the centenary of his birth. Exponents of their respective generations, master and disciple, both were decisive in consolidating History of art in Portugal as an autonomous discipline in terms of teaching, research and civic intervention. The moment of homage is also a moment of reflection on the importance of Art history today and its role in society.

Traces et représentations du passé dans les monuments et le patrimoine, XIXe-XXIe siècle (Europe-Amérique latine)

Les traces du passé constituent les buttes-témoins (des témoins) d’événements historiques à jamais révolus : elles rendent présent ce qui appartient au passé et l’incarnent de manière non intentionnelle. Elles sont parfois l’objet d’un réinvestissement symbolique qui les désigne en marques, caractérisées par une signature intentionnelle de la part d’un acteur identifiable. L’enjeu est ici d’historiciser les usages des traces et des monuments selon les périodes considérées et de les situer dans un contexte local précis afin d’en repérer d’éventuelles singularités. Le jeu des circulations, des imitations dans l’espace euro-américain fera l’objet d’une attention particulière.
