  Learning From the Desert

  Water, Humanities, Territories, Imaginary

  Faced with the global scarcity of water and the “aridification” of a growing number of regions around the world, this symposium aims to question the productivist and short-termist logics of our water management methods. To this end, we invite you to take an in-depth look at cases of territorial development in arid or semi-arid regions, not limiting ourselves to the technical question of water management, but broadening our view to include all the research and dynamics underlying hydrographic designs in arid environments.

  Making architectural history through the prism of environmental and decolonial issues

  From historiography to the epistemology of history, what are the "new problems, new approaches, new objects" - taking up and updating the postures of Pierre Nora and Jacques Le Goff - new periodizations, new geographical areas of architectural history? This symposium aims to clarify the complexity of these narratives, which are both plural and situated, in order to better understand the methodological questions they raise and the contemporary issues they illuminate. It will question these new data and make them resonate with approaches that claim to be postcolonial and/or environmental. It will examine the epistemological implications of the use of certain notions, such as the anthropocene, and their mobilization in the field of architectural research.

  Tous les ans, l’Institut de Géographie de Paris accueille la journée des jeunes chercheurs. Cette journée a pour but de présenter et faire connaître les travaux de recherches de masters, doctorants, et post-doctorants, dans une ambiance conviviale et de partage entre jeunes et chercheurs plus expérimentés. Cette année pour la dixième édition, nous avons souhaité valoriser la diversité et la richesse des recherches de jeunes chercheur·e·s en sciences sociales autour du thème de l’absence, de l’invisible à l’impensé.

  Cahiers Thématiques n°17, Laboratoire conception, territoire, histoire (LaCTH)

  Le laboratoire de recherche de l’École nationale supérieure d’architecture et de paysage de Lille (LACTH / Laboratoire conception, territoire, histoire) publie annuellement les Cahiers thématiques. En convoquant tout à la fois la figure géomorphologique de la plaine, la topologie du plat, et la dimension représentationnelle des plans, le dix-septième numéro des Cahiers Thématiques, qui paraîtra en octobre 2017, voudrait rassembler des contributions interrogeant d’hypothétiques relations entre la planéité et la planification.

  Le laboratoire junior Sciences Dessinées vous propose sa seconde journée d’études : « Ville et bande dessinée », à l’ENS de Lyon. La journée s’articulera en deux temps : les communications de la matinée interrogeront les représentations de la ville dans la bande dessinée, autour d’oeuvres décryptées au prisme de la cartographie, de la géographie, de l’architecture, de l’urbanisme, de la littérature… L’après-midi poursuivra ces questionnements, autour d’un grand entretien avec Benoît Peeters (notamment scénariste des Cités obscures et auteur de nombreux ouvrages de réflexion sur la bande dessinée, dont Lire la bande dessinée).
