Malgré des obstacles structurels persistants, les femmes africaines développent des formes de leadership inclusives, collaboratives et éthiques, offrant des alternatives crédibles aux modèles institutionnels traditionnels. Ce colloque interroge la manière dont ces trajectoires, locales et transnationales, redéfinissent les dynamiques du pouvoir et contribuent à construire des modèles de gouvernance plus justes, durables et porteurs de sens.

Gender and Feminist Perspectives in Southeast Asia
Thematic issue, Moussons No. 49
This issue of Moussons invites a collective examination of gender relations, feminist mobilisations, and policies promoting the rights of women and gender minorities in Southeast Asia, by exploring their translations, tensions, and effects across different scales. This issue aims to contribute to a situated and decolonial reading of gender policies in Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on interactions between global dynamics and local configurations, between normative institutions and collective mobilisations, and between colonial legacies and contemporary transformations. It seeks to foreground the plurality of feminist and gender-minority voices and epistemologies in the region, by supporting the translation and circulation of work produced in Southeast Asian vernacular languages into French or English, in order to foster an inclusive intellectual dialogue.

Anthropology & Materialism. A Journal of Social Research, revue internationale et interdisciplinaire dédiée aux pensées critiques, lance un appel à publication pour son cinquième numéro sur « Politique et mystique dans la parole féminine », à paraître en 2026. Ce numéro propose d’explorer la tension entre engagement politique et intériorité mystique dans les écrits de femmes, de l’époque médiévale à nos jours. Partant du manifeste Ma loi d’avenir (1833) de Claire Démar, où surgit la figure de la « femme-messie », il s’agira d’interroger la manière dont la parole féminine articule utopie sociale, expérience mystique et volonté de transformation politique.

African Women Shaping the World
Activism, Networks and Connections (1920s-1970s)
Research on the long-term history of African women’s rights struggles in the 20th century is currently vibrant, however, a gap remains in the scholarship concerning the global engagement and impact of African women activists’ thought, practices and contributions to the emergence of international feminist movements. This workshop, convened by an international group of scholars, aims to foster collaboration on this issue, with a focus on African pioneers of women’s movements and their global connections.

Il s’agit d’une part de donner un écho à des approches qui sont restées relativement marginales en France alors qu’elles sont débattues depuis plusieurs décennies ailleurs, notamment dans le monde anglophone. Il s’agit d’autre part et dans le même temps de passer ces approches au crible de l’empirie, en les confrontant à des études de cas, de l’Antiquité à nos jours, alors que la période contemporaine domine dans l’historiographie des relations entre genre et environnement.

Le genre et l’argent, le genre de l’argent et l’argent du genre
En dépit des mesures mises en œuvre pour réduire les inégalités économiques entre femmes et hommes, celles-ci perdurent et soulignent l’ambivalence de l’argent, tour à tour vecteur d’émancipation et instrument de domination. Au-delà de sa fonction monétaire, l’argent doit être appréhendé comme un fait social, politique et symbolique, étroitement lié aux rapports de pouvoir qui traversent le genre. Nous nous interrogeons sur ces enjeux à travers l’étude de la répartition et de la transmission genrée des ressources, des pratiques de contournement et d’illégalité financière, ainsi que des ambivalences de l’émancipation dans le cadre capitaliste et néolibéral.

European women and feminists in the 20th century
The workshop focuses on the intersections between the history of international relations, European studies and women's and gender history. Since the early 21st century, historiography on international relations and European integration has undergone profound transformations, enabling the integration of a gender perspective. However, writing a history of European and international relations from a female perspective and integrating a gender perspective into these scientific fields remains a challenge. Therefore, the aim of this workshop is to take stock of approaches at the crossroads of the study of international relations, European integration, gender and feminism. It will provide a forum for debate on recent empirical work and work in progress.

Appropriating international spaces and professions. European women and feminists in the 20th century
The workshop focuses on the intersections between the history of international relations, the history of European integration, women’s and gender history, European studies, and gender studies. Since the early 21st century, historiography on international relations and European integration has undergone profound transformations, enabling the integration of a gender perspective. The workshop has two main objectives. First, it will reassess the field by discussing the theoretical and methodological challenges of approaches at the intersection of the history of international relations, European integration, gender and feminist history, European studies, and gender studies. Second, the workshop will provide a platform for debate around case studies, recent or ongoing empirical work. It is explicitly aimed at PhD candidates and early-career researchers.

Genre et socialismes : nouvelles perspectives (mi-XIXe siècle - mi-XXe siècle)
Ces deux journées d’étude se proposent d’ouvrir de nouvelles perspectives en histoire du socialisme, en l’interrogeant au prisme du genre. Si l’histoire des femmes et du genre a largement contribué à renouveler l’étude du politique au sens large depuis plusieurs décennies et celle du militantisme en particulier, une telle dynamique n’est que récemment perceptible dans l’historiographie des socialismes, et de nombreux angles morts persistent. Depuis le travail pionnier de Charles Sowerwine en 1978 sur les liens complexes entre féminisme et socialisme sous la IIIe République, aucune synthèse n’a remis sur le métier cette thématique, en dépit de la vitalité des études de genre d’un côté, et des renouvellements qu’a connu l’histoire des socialismes de l’autre .

Left-Wing Women’s Organizing and Activism in the Twentieth Century
This conference seeks to bring together scholars from different disciplines working on various aspects of the history of women’s activism and organizing. It aims to explore how women across the spectrum of left-wing politics shaped and influenced the twentieth century’s political, social, and cultural landscapes. The conference aspires to assess the contribution of left-wing women’s activists to the general struggle for women’s emancipation using intersectional, postcolonial, and critical-feminist approaches, acknowledging the pluralities in forms and methods of organizing. We encourage prospective participants to explore different forms and frameworks of women’s activism, collaboration, and/or antagonism; continuities and discontinuities within left-wing currents throughout the twentieth century. We urge moving away from Western-centric perspectives, looking into the broader history of women's activism.

Cette journée d’étude est réalisée en lien avec l’exposition « George Sand, féministe ? ». Elle questionne l’idée-reçue selon laquelle George Sand (1804-1876) est considérée comme une grande figure du féminisme. Femme indépendante, par son travail et par ses mœurs, elle brave les interdits dans un siècle bourgeois et misogyne, en portant le pantalon malgré l’interdiction ou en vivant séparée de son mari. L’exposition explore son engagement pour améliorer sa propre condition, celle de ses congénères, son rôle dans le débat sur le droit de vote des femmes et la confronte avec d’autres personnalités féminines de son époque, aux idées parfois plus progressistes.

Despite their numerical preponderance among the missionary workforce exercising a Christian apotolate at the end of the Ottoman Empire, women have long attracted less work than men. A rebalancing is in progress, spurred on by the gender studies and extended to the whole Muslim world. We will focus on real encounter and conflict situations, avoiding an essentialist approach to Islam and considering the extreme diversity of the field strategies and practices. This approach will be carried out in equal parts, in a decentering and critical way, far from denominational approaches.

Création, représentations et identités
Le présent colloque entend encourager les analyses des productions musicales et sonores des compositrices pour l’image, mais aussi des orchestratrices, arrangeuses, monteuses et mixeuses, jetant une lumière nouvelle sur toute la chaîne de la postproduction sonore. Les enjeux sont pluriels : une approche féministe des musiques à l’image vise autant à interroger les mécanismes de mise à l’écart des créatrices sonores et musicales vis-à-vis du canon établi dans les discours musicologiques et musicographiques dominants qu’à s’intéresser aux conventions régissant les représentations audiovisuelles des personnages féminins à l’écran.

And how do political commitment and migration influence gender relations and the construction of femininity and masculinity?

La mise en affaire des violences sexistes et sexuelles
Cet appel à articles pour le numéro 25 de la revue Politiques de communication explore le rôle des médias dans la médiatisation des « affaires de violences sexistes et sexuelles » prévues pour le printemps 2025. Il examine comment le format de l’affaire influence la médiatisation de ces violences, tout en analysant comment la « forme affaire » configure les cadres médiatiques. Les affaires de violences sexistes, comparables aux scandales de santé publique, offrent un prisme pour étudier la construction des problèmes publics par les médias. Le dossier vise à répondre à la question de comment la « forme affaire » et les cas de violences sexuelles médiatisées interagissent.

Revue « Traverse », 2025/3
La revue Traverse lance un appel à contribution sur le thème des antiféminismes. Revue transpériode et bilingue français-allemand, la revue cherche des contributions qui examinent les antiféminismes sous différentes perspectives pour amener des éclairages variés. Si l’antiféminisme à proprement parler se situe essentiellement dans la période contemporaine (long XIXe siècle – XXIe siècle), les propositions portant sur des manifestations misogynes prenant place dans des périodes antérieures, et pouvant ainsi être considérées comme des mouvements précurseurs de l’antiféminisme, sont également bienvenues. Il en va de même pour les contributions conceptuelles qui s’intéressent aux questions de définition et s’interrogent sur les différences et les points communs entre l’antiféminisme, la misogynie et le sexisme.

Dans le cadre de l’organisation des premières doctoriales du pôle Genre de l’université Lumière Lyon 2, le pôle appelle les personnes inscrites en thèse à l’université Lyon 2 de toutes disciplines et de tous niveaux à partager leurs recherches sur le genre : ce thème peut désigner autant un travail sur les identités, les appartenances sociales et culturelles, les sexualités, les caractéristiques sexuées, les catégories de genre, l’égalité, les discriminations, la binarité, l’inclusivité, la diversité, l’intersectionnalité, etc.
