Transformations épistémologiques et méthodologiques
Après trois décennies de campagnes successives de numérisations des collections menées par les grandes bibliothèques et institutions muséales, trois décennies qui furent aussi consacrées à la construction de banques iconographiques informatisées et à l’optimisation de leur mise à disposition des utilisateurs, une réflexion collective de la part des chercheurs spécialisés dans les analyses iconographiques et, plus largement, dans celles des oeuvres médiévales, apparaît indispensable afin de définir un regard méthodologique sur les nouveaux enjeux que chacune et chacun devine sans avoir eu le temps de les formaliser.

The history and structure of gardens hold endless surprises and fascinating connections with other disciplines. Originally created as a natural but immutable place offering protection and shelter, gardens have evolved from the hortus conclusus to a place of fantastic architecture, celebrations and wonder. Despite the aesthetic development that was added to the symbolic one of the medieval tradition, the garden never completely lost its medicinal and practical function, featuring areas dedicated to fruit trees, greenhouses reserved for exotic crops or plants whose medicinal or dyeing properties were well known.

A two-day international gathering rethinking comics as computational media and as engineered configurations entwined with automation, standardization, and information processing, and positioning comics-as-research as a way to generate knowledge through making. Inviting work on topics such as automation histories, changing formats and workflows, comics as data, human-machine collaboration, audience/user labor, data mining and recirculation, machine authorship, computational archiving, resistance to automation, operational aesthetics, simulations/diagrams, and practice-based methodologies. Presentation formats include research papers, practice-based talks, interactive demos, panels, lightning talks, and workshops.

The Art at the time of Michel Sittow (c. 1469-1525)
The year 2025 marks the 500th anniversary of Michel Sittow’s death in his hometown of Reval (now Tallinn). Sittow’s life, career, and œuvre exemplify how, in the Late Medieval and Early Modern world, professional mobility was no less significant than it is today. The seminar aims to explore the international visual and political contexts surrounding Sittow in order to better understand his experiences within the artistic production and visual culture of late fifteenth- and early sixteenth-century Europe.

Cultures de la violence et résistances féminines
Les réceptions des mythes grecs antiques du XIVe au XXIe siècle, en Europe et au-delà
Nous souhaitons interroger les réécritures de mythes grecs et leurs figurations d’une violence multiforme envers les femmes, ainsi que les résistances ou tentatives de résistance qu’elles lui opposent. Le corpus envisagé est très vaste : ce sont les textes écrits sur une large diachronie, du XIVe au XXIe siècle, en Europe et hors d’Europe, avec, le cas échéant, les images qui les illustrent ou bien les données de la mise en scène dramatique. Il s’agira de questionner les regards qui sous-tendent ces représentations, en lien avec les contextes de référence.

This international conference aims to explore the central role of culture and art in the reconstruction and regeneration of the social fabric, through a reinterpretation of trauma as a driver of creation and preservation of cultural memory and as a form of resistance to the politics of erasure. We encourage papers dealing with the interconnections between trauma, memory and resistance in multiple artistic languages to highlight the role of art in reinterpreting trauma, making it a source of memory and thus a basis for social change. The focus will be on the artistic production, especially during the 21st century, created by Palestinian artists about Palestine, including those in the diaspora.

Sous le signe de la diversité des termes qui la désignent et l’inscrivent dans des paradigmes conceptuels différents, la littérature dite « féminine», « au féminin », “de « femme », « par les femmes » ou « sur les femmes » ne peut que nous confronter à la difficulté voire à l’impossible définition qui systématise l’ensemble textuel qui s’en réclame. Si bien qu’il devient légitime d’interroger la pertinence conceptuelle et méthodologique de cette « féminisation » de la littérature : entre mythe et réalité (Annie Arnaux). Si la littérature dite « féminine » s’établit par opposition à la « littérature masculine », en quoi relève-t-elle d’un « écrire femme » et donc d’une emblématique démarche esthétique innovante ?

In its second year, this webinar invites participants to build on his analysis by shifting the focus to the institutional, individual, and collective actors who, in their daily exercise of sovereignty, worked to shape their own offices, challenge the orders they received, and invent an ancient origin for their practices. These practices were often recently established as a result of political manoeuvres, disgrace, or dynastic change.

Dans la continuité des initiatives visant à ouvrir l’enseignement du design et des arts visuels auxdébats contemporains sur les formes, les usages et les héritages socio-culturels, ce colloqueinternational invite à repenser l’ornement. Nous proposons de l’étudier non plus seulement comme motif décoratif, mais aussi comme un opérateur fondamental permettant de comprendre la circulation des formes, la transformation des pratiques, la transmission des savoirs et des savoir-faire. L’ornement qu’il soit architectural, graphique, mobilier ouurbain devient ici le prisme à travers lequel s’analysent les dynamiques culturelles entre héritage et innovation.

Since (at least) the early modern period, migration, flight, and displacement have been central to European history—not only as forces shaping local and regional environments but also as processes that help define the spatial, cultural, political, social, and intellectual limits of what “Europe” actually means. We invite papers that examine migration in and across Europe (broadly conceived) over the centuries and explore how movements of migrants and refugees have contributed to the making of Europe as a geographical, cultural, and political space.

Our goal is to bring together multi-disciplinary perspectives to examine parks across time and space, across fact and fiction. We seek to understand how these projects, which reconstitute and enclose long-extinct life forms, intersect with histories of science, capitalism, imperialism, environmental change, and more.

Les violences basées sur le genre (VBG) persistent, affectant principalement les femmes dans leurs relations sociales, avec un impact sévère sur leur dignité et leur autonomie. Les rites culturels, souvent perçus comme traditionnels, peuvent en réalité perpétuer ces VBG, par exemple à travers des pratiques comme l'excision, mariages précoces ou rites veuvage. L’objectif de ce colloque est de lutter contre les discriminations envers les femmes, partager des expériences, identifier et analyser les rites culturels générant les VBG, plaider pour l'abandon de ces pratiques, creer un catalogue dynamique de solutions innovantes, et publier un ouvrage collectif sur le thème.

Religion in Societies: Multidisciplinary Approaches
The LLSETI (Laboratoire langages, littératures, sociétés, études transfrontalières et internationales) laboratory organizes its biennial study day dedicated to doctoral students, focusing in 2026 on “Societies and Religion.” This interdisciplinary event aims to combine approaches from literature, history, linguistics, philosophy, and social sciences to explore the multiple relationships between religion and society. Religion is considered in its diversity — institutions, beliefs, rituals, identities, relations to power, and secular forms — while also taking into account contemporary critiques of the concept itself. Proposals may address interactions between faith, society, culture, and politics, the construction of religious identities, or the ethical and moral dynamics arising from religious practice.
