Dans le double contexte de Guerre froide et de décolonisations, le domaine culturel, et notamment les arts visuels (arts plastiques, photographie, cinéma, arts textiles, arts décoratifs, architecture), occupent une place particulièrement importante.

Contours du wuxiapian : économies, esthétiques, théories et disséminations
Ce projet d’ouvrage se propose d’explorer les contours du wuxiapian comme genre cinématographique à la fois codifié et profondément instable, situé au croisement d’héritages littéraires, de cultures populaires et de logiques industrielles. Dans le prolongement des travaux consacrés au chanbara, il s’agit d’analyser ses formes esthétiques, ses gestes martiaux et ses dimensions politiques, tout en interrogeant ses circulations historiques, transmédiatiques et transnationales. L’ouvrage entend contribuer à l’intégration académique du wuxiapian dans l’espace francophone, en adoptant une posture théorique attentive aux médiations culturelles et aux conditions de production des savoirs.

Cultivating one’s own garden, expanding horizons
Mapping the personal and the collective through history of art and the humanities, from Impressionism to the present day
The Seine has shaped the history of the Impressionist movement, which, in turn, left a lasting mark on the land. The research framework of this programme places the focus on this influential geographical backdrop, as part of a broader reflection on our regions. Housing traditions, ways of life, social structures, land uses, and the impact of agricultural and industrial development on the landscape are just some of the lines of research that require further study about Impressionism. This summer school aims to open up new perspectives through cross-disciplinary collaboration while experimenting with scales of analysis, to reflect on the experience of land from the most personal to the most universal.

Joaquin Ferrer : transculturations artistiques
Cette première journée d’étude consacrée à l’œuvre du peintre Joaquin Ferrer (1928-2022), exilé de Cuba à Paris à partir de 1959, vise à mettre en lumière la transculturation de son identité cubaine et ses fertiles croisements avec les avant-gardes, les artistes et les écrivains de son temps. Avec un regard transdisciplinaire et international, il s’agit d’interroger plus largement la place des artistes latino-américains dans le discours artistique et littéraire de l’Europe, voire même de questionner les notions de modernité, d’art contemporain européen et d’hybridité au carrefour de l’Amérique latine, de l’Afrique et de l’Europe.

Ce workshop a pour but de former un réseau multidisciplinaire de jeunes chercheur·euse·s travaillant sur le jeu vidéo. Cet évènement sera l’occasion pour les participant·e·s de discuter de papiers courts avec des chercheur·euse·s confirmé·e·s, afin d’avoir des conseils et retours constructifs sur leurs travaux. Ces chercheur·euse·s confirmé·e·s prendront le rôle de discutant·e·s au sein d’axes précis en relation avec les champs disciplinaires dont iels sont issu·e·s : game design ; transmédialité et intermédialité ; enjeux politiques ; représentations, réalisme et réalité ; réception et fandom.

Calligraphies at the Frontiers of the Islamicate World: Practices, Circulations, and Appropriations
This conference marks the conclusion of the research programme CallFront, dedicated to the study of Arabic-script calligraphy at the frontiers of the Islamic world. It will explore several themes central to the project, including the evolution of styles, the transmission of knowledge and calligraphic practices, as well as the symbolic and spiritual dimensions of certain uses of writing. The event will also highlight the programme’s achievements, with a round table devoted to the contribution of digital tools to the analysis of scripts, a presentation of the publications produced within the framework of the project, and the screening of a film based on fieldwork missions, offering an immersive insight into the practices under study.

From May 25th to 27th, 2026, BeloHorizonte/MG - Brazil will once more be the site of the International Congress of Art, Science, and Technology and Digital Arts Seminar (11th CIACT-SAD). It has as its theme for this edition: “Artifices &Artefacts”. It emerges from techniques and poetics, from software and code, from manual and automated actions, but also from cultural and artistic objects—whether physical or not—born from production in the intersection of art, science, and technology. The theme of this edition reveals crossings between the analog and the digital without establishing hierarchies.

The International Colloquium Politics and Narratives of the Body aims to open an interdisciplinary dialogue, considering the multiple ways of thinking, representing, embodying and writing corporeality, particularly in contemporary contexts. The policies created around the body generate diverse, dissenting, irreverent and complex narratives, discourses and poetics. In this way, the congress is expected to convene studies on the body and the policies and narratives built around it, from perspectives that include an interdisciplinary approach. Thus, different disciplines of the human, social and artistic sciences would converge in order to transversally think about corporeality.

Elles manifestent la nature composée de la gastronomie, dont le discours est indissociable des autres formes de représentation. À rebours de la définition logocentrique de la gastronomie comme culture de l’écrit, nous nous proposons de déplacer la perspective pour étudier celle-ci comme une relation qualitative à l’alimentation à laquelle participe la culture visuelle.
