Conference, symposium - Europe
Les représentations de l’hérésie dans les textes polémiques et inquisitoriaux médiévaux sont protéiformes. Elles s’étendent des emprunts textuels faits aux polémiques anti-hérétiques anciennes à des descriptions vivaces des croyances et des pratiques des groupes dissidents par leurs observateurs catholiques jusqu’aux documents inquisitoriaux. Ce colloque international organisé par le Collectif International de recherche sur le catharisme et les dissidences (CIRCAED), avec le soutien du Musée du Catharisme de Mazamet et de Dissident Networks Project (DISSINET, https://dissinet.cz), rassemble des chercheurs de différents pays et positions dans les débats autour des images et réalités de l’hérésie médiévale.

Cours d’été 2024 de l’Institut d’histoire de la Réformation
Chaque année au mois de juin, l’IHR organise un cours d’été intensif à l’intention d’étudiant-es diplômé-es (MA), candidat-es au doctorat ou déjà postgradué-es en histoire, histoire des religions, théologie, philosophie ou littérature. Le but de ce enseignement est de permettre aux participant-es d’approfondir leurs connaissances dans un domaine historique particulier et de se familiariser avec le traitement des sources. Une attention spéciale est portée à l’apprentissage des méthodes utilisées dans l’étude de l’histoire intellectuelle.

The challenges that polarization brings to sociology now extend to crucial domains of social processes and action, reaching, among others, the arenas of consumption, religions, identities, sexuality, childhood, culture, and science. In this context, the digitization of society and the economy creates and emphasizes dynamics of polarization, while simultaneously opening up new possibilities. Beyond the general impact on social interactions and practices, to what extent are the new social media a factor that promotes expressions of polarization?

Le poste s’inscrit dans le cadre du projet trinational ANR-ORA ENCOUNTERS (« Muslim-Jewish encounter, diversity & distance in urban Europe: religion, culture and social model », 2020-2023). Il rassemble des chercheur·es de plusieurs disciplines des sciences sociales, qui explorent les interactions interculturelles, interethniques et interreligieuses dans six contextes urbains européens, en se focalisant sur le cas des relations judéo-musulmanes et des grandes agglomérations en France (Paris et Strasbourg), en Allemagne (Berlin et Francfort-sur-le-Main) et au Royaume-Uni (Londres et Manchester), dans une approche empirique, théorique et comparative.

The Dynamics of Ritual and Embodiment in Contemporary Religion and Spirituality
Methodological and theoretical issues
Within the framework of International Society for the Sociology of Religion 36th Conference (12 July - 15 July 2021), this panel aims to explore and discuss methodological and theoretical issues related to ethnographic research on sensory and bodily experiences in contemporary religion and spirituality. This panel invites scholars to present their contributions that include sensoriality as a central aspect of their research, either as a methodological tool (completing classical methodologies); or as a theoretical perspective to approach sensory settings and bodily (inter-)actions.

Summer School - Prehistory and Antiquity
ERC Advanced Grant MAP project (Mapping Ancient Polytheisms. Cult Epithets as an Interface between Religious Systems and Human Agency)
The ERC Advanced Grant MAP project (Mapping Ancient Polytheisms. Cult Epithets as an Interface between Religious Systems and Human Agency; 741182; http://map-polytheisms.huma-num.fr1) works on the naming systems for the divine in the Greek and Western Semitic worlds, from 1000 BCE to 400 CE and views them as testimonies to the way in which divine powers are constructed, arranged and involved within ritual. The analysis deals both with the structural aspects of the religious systems and with their contextual appropriation by social participants. Considered to be elements of a complex language, the onomastic channels are related to the gods, therefore providing access to a mapping process of the divine, to its ways of representation and to the communication strategies between men and gods.Within this framework, the MAP Team proposes a Summer School in collaboration with the French Research Centre in Jerusalem (http://www.crfj.org) which covers the project’s themes and tools.

Son but est d’appréhender la diversité des recours patristiques à l'Ecriture : exégèse spirituelle des commentaires, argumentation des traités apologétiques, réflexions philologiques sur le texte biblique et sa transmission, etc.

Sexuality and religion and the risks of fieldwork
Un numéro à paraître en 2017 d'Émulations, revue des jeunes chercheuses et chercheurs en sciences sociales, sera consacré au thème « Sexualité et religion aux risques de l'enquête de terrain », sous la direction de Myriam Joël (INED) et Josselin Tricou (université Paris 8 Vincennes – Saint-Denis).
