Journées doctorales en paysage
Dixième journée
Tous les deux ans, les écoles nationales supérieures de paysage françaises organisent des journées doctorales en paysage. Elles s’adressent aux doctorant·es et aux jeunes docteur·es et ont deux objectifs principaux. En premier, il s’agit d’accueillir une recherche en cours issue de l’engagement en doctorat et ainsi de rendre visible une actualisation potentielle d’approches et de problématiques autour du paysage et/ou du projet de paysage. En second, l’ambition est de conforter le réseau actif de jeunes chercheur·es venant d’horizons et de champs disciplinaires différents autour de la recherche en/par le paysage ainsi que de la recherche par le projet (de paysage).

Heritage Villages and Tourism: Local Issues, Global Experiences
In a societal context that calls for practices to be reinvented for a sustainable territorial development (Knafou, 2023), heritage villages are at the crossroads of several issues, both in terms for the actions of inhabitants and the participation of visitors and tourists. This conference, organised by ESTHUA, the National Institute of Tourism - INNTO France of the University of Angers, and ICUNA, the Joint Institute of the Universities of Ningbo and Angers, will focus on several issues relating to the heritage of villages and the challenges they face in terms of tourism, in particular: adaptation to local society, the natural, environmental and intangible dimensions of the heritage on offer, adaptation to tourist numbers and the involvement of local people in tourism development projects.

Reimagining Rural Spaces in Europe
The symposium invites a reflection on the processes and actors shaping contemporary rural spaces in Europe. It welcomes insights from all traditions and disciplines in six thematic panels, dedicated to rural migration andemerging lifestyles, pluriversal rural representations, rural economic revitalization by care, the co-design of rural liveability, the decolonization of post-human rural spaces, and local counter-globalization responses.

The sheep trade, in and around the Muslim world, is spectacular in terms of its scale, its impact on people's daily lives and its territorial impact. The Eid-al-Adha is its most important periodic event. The livestock trade and the festival of sacrifice are undergoing multifactorial and multiscalar reconfigurations that are the result of several major congruent movements. We need to look at these social phenomena in their global dimension, as a little-known embodiment of globalisation that requires a comparative international and multi-sited approach, revealing deepening social and spatial polarisations at the local level and a complex ‘geopolitics of sheep’ at the international level.

Current State of Haitian Migration

In Haiti, the migration issue is a key structural factor in understanding the realities of this society. Since the country’s first occupation by the United States in 1915, national life has been punctuated by the massive displacement of Haitians, making it a country of emigration. From 1915 to the post-2010 years, marked by the January 12 earthquake, the country experienced at least six major waves of migration. Starting from these considerations as a powerful factor of expulsion, there is an invitation to take stock of a century and more of Haitian emigration.

Bringing monuments to life: Thinking about visitor experiences
Ce colloque vise à questionner le rapport des publics aux monuments à partir de la notion d’expérience, et cela dans une dimension internationale. Le terme d’expérience, souvent polysémique, se situe à la croisée de plusieurs disciplines (muséologie, sociologie, sciences de l’information et de la communication, tourism studies, etc.) qui interrogent la manière dont les visiteurs interagissent et s'approprient les lieux patrimoniaux.

Imaginaires et imageries des lieux de fictions littéraires
Appropriations et adaptations intermédiales et spectaculaires (XIXe-XXIe siècle)
Organisé de façon bipartite selon une logique historique, médiatique et esthétique, le colloque est construit comme un voyage dans le temps et les espaces de la fiction pour, tout d’abord, remonter aux XXe et XXIe siècles. À Arras, le 13 novembre 2025, on traitera le sujet sous l’angle des supports audiovisuels, numériques et technologiques ; à Montpellier, le 11 mars 2026, on abordera ensuite le sujet sous l’angle des supports imprimés (dessin, photographie, presse illustrée, images publicitaires et touristiques, affiches, cartes postales…) et des adaptations scéniques et artistiques (théâtre, beaux-arts, etc.). Sans se limiter aux éléments dégagés, les propositions pourront s’inscrire dans les axes proposés ci-dessous, de manière éventuellement transversale et complémentaire.

Les années de croissance et la « ville européenne » (années 1950-1970)
Ce colloque vise à appréhender la modernisation de la fin des années 1940 au seuil des années 1980 en relisant la notion de ville européenne face aux « accélérations » de l’époque. La ville européenne est prise ici comme un espace spécifique en tension, et non comme la version réduite des grandes métropoles mondiales. Les trois axes d’enquête proposés interrogent, à travers la perception d’une « accélération », les manières de penser, gouverner, planifier, construire et contester la ville, à la croisée entreusages de l’histoire, pratiques de conception et projection des futurs urbains : accélérations spatiales, accélérations politiques, accélérations sociales.

Au-delà de l’humain, repenser le vivant : nouvelles façons de penser et d’agir
Le prodigieux développement technologique participe également de ce décentrement de l’humain : le développement des intelligences artificielles pourrait-il révolutionner ce qui ferait la spécificité de l’humain, la pensée adaptative ? Que nous dit la nature lorsque des épidémies se diffusent à l’échelle de la planète malgré les progrès de la science ? À quelles conditions les technologies peuvent-elle participer aux solutions de demain ? Quels nouveaux outils intellectuels et concrets pour penser les enjeux de l’atténuation du changement climatique et de l’adaptation de nos sociétés à celui-ci ? Comment repenser les savoirs économiques, climatiques, médicaux, agronomiques à l’aune de l’émergence de nouveaux communs ? Ce sont ces questions que le cours « Nouvelles compréhensions du monde » explore grâce à un dialogue interdisciplinaire et au croisement de nos regards entre le Sénégal et la France.

Degrowth in Mountain Tourism: Future Challenges and Prospects of Tourism in Mountain Regions
Global tourism has growth to a level that questions the current and future sustainability of the industry and its impacts for our environment. While the developmental aspects of tourism have been largely based on the scale of visitors flows, there is an increasing need to think the limits to growth in tourism and alternative development paradigms for future tourism. This kind of questioning of the impacts of growth, in general, is not new (First Report to the Club of Rome, 1972; First World Climate Conference [Geneva] 1979; Brundtland Report 1987), but there are new ways to reconceptualise alternative futures for development. In tourism, one of the recently emerged idea is based on a degrowth thinking in economic and social development discussion in the 2000s (Latouche, 2022; Bernard et al., 2003)

Land and Power in Scotland: History, Law and the Environment
The aim of this international and pluri-disciplinary two-day conference is to explore the current concern for land reform in its social, cultural, legal and environmental contexts. The intention is to gather specialists from a range of disciplines including history, geography, law, literature, political science, economics, sociology, and the arts, as well as environmental and climate change specialists, to explore the interactions between land and power in Scotland along three main axes: history, law and the environment.

Cultural Networks, Knowledge, Circulations, and Material Practices (19th and 20th Centuries)
In the last twenty years, there have been different approaches to the topic of travel from various disciplinary fields and perspectives. This symposium aims for a multidisciplinary approach to the topic of travel, understood as the deliberate movement of an individual through space, without being physically or psychologically forced or coerced. This symposium aims to be a space of dialogue and reflection about travel, its narratives, and its written and visual depictions. We aim to foster new approaches to travel understood in its specificity vis a vis the articulation of a disciplinary field (rather than its traditional understanding as a subsidiary object to other fields of study).

Experiential Approaches to Racism and Discrimination
Parallel to the development of structural and systemic understandings of racism, from the 1990s onwards, research, initially in English, drew increasingly attention to the complementarity and interest of an experiential approach to racism. Such interest appears to be twofold, both methodological or epistemic, and political. On the other hand, insofar as racism is defined in part by the impossibility it places on minorities to re-define their identity and subjective experience, “making minority voices heard” implies not only a methodological and ethical commitment but also holds heuristic powers, or even the key to transformative political struggles. This special issue offers to systematize such questionings through a transdisciplinary and comparative perspective.

Retour sur l’héritage intellectuel d’un égyptologue majeur
Quinze ans après le décès de Jean Yoyotte, le Collège de France et l’École pratique des hautes études (EPHE) se sont associés pour rendre hommage à ce grand savant qui fut directeur d’études à l’EPHE, directeur de la mission archéologique de Tanis et professeur au Collège de France : l’occasion de mesures toute l’étendue de son héritage méthodologique et intellectuel, tout comme son influence sur des domaines de recherche qui se sont développés avec lui et après lui.

La majorité de la population Malagasy est jeune, environ deux tiers de la population a moins de 25 ans et près de la moitié a moins de 15 ans. Aujourd’hui, la majorité des jeunes sont chômeurs, y compris les diplômés des universités publiques ou privées, ils sont confrontés à cette réalité. Cette année, le pays célèbrera ses 64 ans d’indépendance pourtant il est parmi les pays les plus pauvres au monde et le taux de chômage des jeunes augmente chaque année. Pendant leurs cursus universitaires, les étudiants consacrent la plupart de leur temps à des activités associatives ou aux organisations de jeunesse. Dans le cadre d’un partenariat, Mpikaroky Misafiry 2M et l’Association interdisciplinaire ELITE 3A organisent une table ronde pour permettre l’échange entre les étudiants, les leaders d’associations ou organisations de jeunesse et les experts sur le chômage des diplômés.
