L’Afrique face aux nouveaux enjeux du monde
Ce symposium international, transversal et pluridisciplinaire, conjointement organisé par le département d’histoire de l’ENS (Laboratoire des Sciences Humaines Appliquées) de l’université de Yaoundé I, en partenariat avec le CEVIPOL (Centre d’études sur la vie politique) de l’université Libre de Bruxelles, invite les chercheurs travaillant sur les différents aspects des équilibres de puissances dans le monde en lien avec l’Afrique. Après avoir identifié, défini et analysé les nouveaux enjeux du monde post covid19, ce symposium fera le panorama des atouts de l’Afrique sur les questions géopolitiques, économiques, sécuritaires, environnementales, culturelles, mémorielles, démographiques et sociétales.

Invisible Actors in the Making of International Law (1750–2000)
This interdisciplinary conference invites graduate students and early career researchers to consider the genealogy of international law since 1750. It aims to identify new or unrecognised actors – including individuals, groups, and institutions as well as non-human agents – and their contributions to the practices, interpretations, and applications of international law. How did they establish or challenge norms, customs, and institutions? How were their practices, actions, and ideas shaped into law? The event aims to historicise the making of international law by bringing together junior scholars of history and law and to provide a forum for the exploration of new ideas and alternative perspectives, combining and building upon historical and social scientific approaches.

Les violences intrafamiliales : conception, perception et répression, de l’Antiquité au Moyen Âge
Ce colloque international, organisé par Nîmes Université les 10-11 décembre 2026, se propose d’explorer la question des violences intrafamiliales – leurs conceptions, perceptions et répressions – depuis l’Antiquité jusqu’au Moyen Âge, dans une Europe de culture chrétienne (de l’Occident latin à l’Orient byzantin). L’objectif est de croiser différentes approches historiques, juridiques, anthropologiques, sociologiques et littéraires pour enrichir la compréhension de ces violences comme phénomène historique, en soulignant l’écart entre normes et pratiques, et en les reliant aux enjeux contemporains. Les communications devront respecter une chronologie de l’Antiquité à la fin du XIIIe siècle.

La misopédie dans les institutions
Misopedia is hatred of children (similar to misogyny, which refers to hatred of women). It is the feeling of contempt – most often unconscious – that we harbour towards younger people, the rejection we subject them to in the functioning of society. Being or having been a child is the one and only universal experience common to all human beings on the planet. And yet, from generation to generation, there is a recurring inability to empathise with childhood once we have left it behind. This misopedia is not universal, but it is quite widespread and varies, of course, according to time and place.

Perspectives historiques et renouvellements historiographiques dans les espaces européens, coloniaux et mondiaux
La revue Criminocorpus lance un appel à contributions pour un dossier consacré aux relations entre prostitution, droit et justice, depuis la fin du Moyen Âge jusqu’à la période contemporaine. Ce dossier propose d’interroger les modes de régulation, de répression ou de tolérance de la prostitution à travers les siècles, en déplaçant le regard porté traditionnellement sur les seules autorités publiques. Il s’agira d’accorder une place centrale aux pratiques et aux expériences des personnes concernées, à leurs interactions avec la justice et aux réponses qu’elles apportent aux contraintes institutionnelles et sociales qui pèsent sur elles.

Violence and Empire. From the Early 1800s to the End of the Great War
From the early 1800s, the formation, consolidation, and maintenance of empires were increasingly bound to new logics of state power, technological advancements, and legal rationalisation and justification. Despite narratives of civilising missions and administrative modernisation, violence remained a central practice of imperial rule, both as an instrument of conquest and a mechanism for governing already established colonial regimes. This conference invites historians and scholars of related disciplines to consider the various ways in which violence operated within imperial systems, how it was implemented, codified and justified legally and culturally, along with its contemporary perception in the imperial metropolis and its remembrance and subsequent legacies that continuously remain influential until the present day.

Crime, Surveillance and Mobilities in the Atlantic, 19th and 20th centuries
As part of the project International collaborations: crime and police cooperation in the Ibero-American Atlantic, 1870-1940, financed by the of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Portugal and hosted by CIES-Iscte, this international meeting aims to bring together researchers working in the study of criminal behaviours of a transnational nature, transnational mobilities and the development of forms of international and transnational political and cross-border surveillance, involving the Atlantic and connecting Europe, the Americas and Africa, during the 19th and 20th centuries. This congress aims to contribute to the expansion and deepening of the historiographical debate surrounding the transnational movement of people and the surveillance of international crime in the Atlantic axis.

Identifier, administrer, protéger en contexte diasporique (époques moderne et contemporaine)
La protection consulaire est un dispositif juridique qui permet à un État d’exercer une forme de souveraineté sur des populations résidant dans un autre État. Généralement fondée sur des traités ou accords entre les deux États concernés, elle prend des contours et des modalités extrêmement variés : si aujourd’hui elle est strictement limitée par l’égalité théorique entre les États dans le cadre du système international fondé en 1945, elle a pu, au XIXe siècle notamment, se traduire par des empiètements d’ordre quasi-colonial sur la souveraineté des pays d’accueil. Le régime capitulaire, que ce soit dans l’Empire ottoman, en Chine ou en Égypte, constitue à cet égard un terrain d’observation fécond, dont l’historiographie n’a pas épuisé toutes les potentialités.

Colloque dans le cadre du festival d'histoire de Montbrison
Les liens complexes qui unissent l'homme à la forêt ont laissé des traces dans la mémoire commune. Le thème est devenu un standard dans la recherche depuis que se développe une histoire de l'environnement, une histoire culturelle et une histoire sensible. Le sujet de l’arbre et la forêt est une question écologique coupée des grands enjeux sociaux et culturels. Ce thème intéresse toutes les périodes de l'histoire : là où une forêt primitive avait déjà colonisé la terre, les premières familles d'hommes durent abattre les chênes pour planter une autre variété d'arbre : l'arbre généalogique. Bien des travaux de micro ou de macro-histoire portent sur la forêt dans ses rapports avec l’homme. Ce thème nécessite la rencontre d'autres sciences : humaines (géographie, littérature, sociologie, anthropologie, voire démographie) ou plus « dures » (archéologie, biologie, climatologie, dendrochronologie), voire des arts comme la médecine.

Cette rencontre scientifique propose de réfléchir à travers deux axes fondamentaux : premièrement, les modalités selon lesquelles les conceptions corporatives et juridictionnelles traditionnelles du lien social dans la monarchie traditionnelle espagnole sont adaptées, juxtaposées, contrastées, etc. avec l’imaginaire éclairé et libéral, à partir du XVIIIe siècle et tout au long du XIXe, sur le plan institutionnel, normatif et discursif. Deuxièmement, les réappropriations, réinterprétations et usages –intentionnels ou naïfs – de ces termes par les sujets ; usages qui ont complexifié le réseau de relations traditionnellement décrit par l’historiographie en termes de résistance à la formation d’une nouvelle conception de l’autorité publique légitime.

La place de l’histoire du droit et des institutions dans les pensées libertaires
Les penseurs libertaires et anarchistes dans leurs réflexions politiques ont eu à cœur d’évoquer le droit et d’appréhender son histoire. Mais, face à une conception du droit fondée sur une acceptation, plus ou moins consciente, de la notion d’État, sanctionnant le droit via une violence légitime dont il a le monopole, ils ont recherché dans les marges, temporelles et spatiales, les formes de droits non étatiques, ce « ius » qui n’était pas lex. À cette occasion, ils se sont tournés vers l’histoire, et particulièrement l’histoire du droit et des institutions, et les autres sciences de l’homme, anthropologie et ethnologie, appliquées aux concepts juridiques. C’est la place de ce regard, vers le passé ou vers les marges contemporaines, et sa méthode au sein des pensées libertaires que nous souhaitons interroger.
