Unleashing Transformative and Decolonised Education for Sustainability in a Globalised World
The theme of the conference is grounded in the transformative learning paradigm applied to education for sustainable development (ESD). ESD is a central element in promoting “enlightened citizenship” for all students, but also in training future professionals who will integrate a sustainable development approach into their work, regardless of the sector. This call for contributions is based on UNESCO’s 2030 Roadmap for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), published in 2020 and the 2022 Berlin Declaration, which places transformative ESD at its core.

Speculative narratives from the margins
Social alternatives, decolonial ecologies, and critical knowledge
Choosing the margins as the main focus of this conference will help to examine how speculative fiction disrupts hegemonic narratives, bringing to light subaltern or minoritised modes of knowledge, temporality, and resistance; how it operates somewhere between the end of the world and the possibility of a new beginning to allow us to imagine other ways of inhabiting the Earth and of projecting ourselves collectively into the future. Proposals exploring these issues through the study of narrative processes, cultural appropriations, andintertextual circulations, will be welcome.

Indigenous Peoples in Global Politics
Monções: Revista de Relações Internacionais da UFGD
This special issue aims to gather contributions from researchers studying indigenous peoples in international politics. We particularly – though not exclusively – encourage submissions on topics such as: How does the political action of indigenous peoples yield pressure on traditional concepts such as politics, sovereignty, international cooperation, and global governance? To what extent and through what mechanisms do these practices subvert or are co-opted by the hegemonic structures of the international system? In what ways do indigenous philosophies and worldviews challenge the colonial logics of the Anthropocene, extractivism, and the geopolitics of knowledge?

La contribution du droit à l’instauration d’un monde décroissant
Le but de la manifestation est de réunir des contributions originales, techniquement pointues, qui ouvrent des perspectives concrètes sur les figures juridiques à mobiliser pour l’instauration d’un monde décroissant. De multiples réflexions ont déjà été menées pour déconstruire le droit positif et il convient de s’en servir comme point d’appui. Les propositions attendues ne peuvent pas consister seulement dans un recyclage aux couleurs de la décroissance ; il convient de se concentrer sur l’originalité de la décroissance, dont on peut rappeler la définition retenue à titre fonctionnel : « une réduction de la production et de la consommation pour alléger l’empreinte écologique planifiée démocratiquement dans un esprit de justice sociale et dans le souci du bien-être ».

Iconoclasm, Reenactments, and Alternative Commemorations in the United States since 2000
As demonstrated by Wendy Bellion’s scholarship, iconoclasm lies at the foundation of the United States. Yet Bellion also shows us that, rather than being sealed in the past, iconoclastic projects continue into the present. Iconoclastic destruction invariably entails creation—whether it is the construction of new monuments to replace the toppled ones, or the coalescence of a new community, movement, or nation. This conference seeks to bring together scholars interested in monuments and their destruction, public history and public art, historical reenactments, memory studies, and artistic practices across diverse media. We invite papers that evaluate recent commemorative projects, examine acts of iconoclasm and their aftermath, and study or propose novel approaches to representing historic events.

Ce colloque interdisciplinaire, faisant dialoguer recherches universitaires et arts vivants, s’inscrit dans le cadre de l’axe « Corps politique et société » et plus particulièrement de l’axe « Esthétiques et politique du corps et de la scène » du laboratoire LLA - CRÉATIS. Il naît de la volonté, d’une part, de consolider QUETZAL (Questions théâtrales sur la zone Amérique Latine), le réseau interdisciplinaire de jeunes chercheur·euses francophones sur le théâtre latino-américain, créé en 2020, et d’autre part, de poursuivre les discussions amorcées lors des premières journées d’études organisées en ligne par le collectif, et qui ont donné lieu à une publication. Plus particulièrement, il s’agit de partir de la notion de « colonialité du pouvoir » qui renvoie à une série de phénomènes de domination perdurant au-delà des processus de décolonisation politique.

Le quatrième numéro de la revue Images Secondes souhaite interroger la pertinence des approches post et décoloniales dans le champ des études cinématographiques, en termes de conception théorique, de méthodologies d’analyse, ainsi que d’étude des expériences de création, de circulation et de pédagogie cinématographique. À cet égard, il semble important d’interroger les fragments manquants ou méconnus d’une histoire du cinéma mondial et d’investir de nouveaux outils de pensée et d’analyse en réponse à la littérature postcoloniale et décoloniale contemporaine des sciences sociales et humaines.

Violence: An international journal is launching a call for papers on the theme “Violence and environmental crisis”. Can we speak about violence when describing biodiversity loss, the destruction of natural sanctuaries like Amazonia and the Great Barrier Reef, or when observing the spillage of illegally polluting wastes? How long is the chain of violence related to environmental crisis? And who are the perpetrators and the victims of such violence? In which way can we speak about violence, and can this violence be legitimated or condemned? All this raises theoretical, normative, linguistic and empirical questions to be discussed in the articles fostered by this call.

The WMF’s mission is the development and exchange of knowledge, information and competencies in all mediation areas, notably through the regular organization of international congresses for more than fifteen years. The Xth Conference of the World Mediation Forum wants to devote itself to trying to understand how mediation can be organized and developed when it has so many objectives that are seemingly difficult to reconcile. Thus, the 2019 conference will try to bring, through four highly interrelated roundtables and about forty presentations, a significant contribution to this question: 'Mediation: A transversal approach with multiple purposes?'

15 May 1968: the Odeon theatre in Paris is occupied by students and becomes the insurgent headquarters where every night militants recount the days' action in occupied factories to an audience of people camping in the auditorium. Youth rebellion was never as mythologised as that of the French students’ fight against institutional oppression. The effects were felt across the Channel, too – but the nature of those effects was, and remains, disputed. 50 years on… where are we? What remains of autogestion and emancipatory education? What remains of theatre inventiveness and sedition? What remains of a need for participatory audiences? What remains of utopia and dissent?

Quels témoignages, quelles images, quels objets diront demain le monde d’aujourd’hui ? Un peu partout, des archivistes et des chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales ouvrent le chantier, vivant et créatif, de la fabrique alternative d’archives. Quinze d’entre eux exposeront leurs projets et leurs pratiques en Belgique, en France, en Suisse et au Québec, mais aussi à Sarajevo, en Algérie, au Rwanda, autour de la mémoire des territoires et des populations, des arts vivants, de l’archive des émotions, des souffrances, du vécu tout simplement. Au plus proche des préoccupations de tous les participants, nous partagerons nos méthodes et le sens que nous engageons dans la construction d’archives.

Si, comme l’a montré Hannah Arendt, chaque nouvelle génération a pour fonction de s’arroger, au détriment du passé, l’espace nécessaire à l’exercice de sa liberté, assurant ainsi le renouvellement de la vie politique, il semble important de s’interroger sur les causes, les formes et les conséquences de l’engagement de la jeunesse.

Le phénomène de l’open data soulève de grandes questions tant sur le plan sociétal, politique, stratégique, qu’économique. Il s’agit pour nous, à partir d’un premier constat établi par des professionnels intermédiaires : un data-journaliste, un représentant de start-up, un observateur (think tank) de discuter les nombreux usages de l’open data, de mieux les identifier et de tenter de les caractériser. Ce retour d’expériences nous permettra également de nous interroger sur la manière dont les différents acteurs de l’open data se représentent les utilisateurs, leurs rôles, leurs places par rapport aux fournisseurs de données et aux producteurs de services.

Amazighs and the turmoil of the Arab Spring
Issues and perspectives for the Berber peoples in North Africa
Ce panel s’intéressera au mouvement de revendication identitaire et linguistique berbère. Dans toute l’Afrique du Nord, la revendication culturelle amazighe articule toute une série d’acteurs collectifs. La structuration organisationnelle, la trajectoire, les répertoires d’actions et le pouvoir de se faire entendre de ces derniers varient selon les situations nationales tandis que se développent un discours et des références idéologiques communes, pan-amazighes. Les mobilisations en Kabylie, la participation des Amazighes au mouvement du 20 Février au Maroc, l’irruption sur la scène politique berbère de forces armées en Libye, l’émergence d’une revendication amazighe en Tunisie s’ajoutent à une extension des revendications culturelles et linguistiques à des domaines comme l’environnement et la gestion des ressources économiques locales. Par ailleurs on assiste à une montée en visibilité des jeunes lors des mobilisations récentes. Le panel se proposera donc de discuter des thèmes en relation avec cette évolution.
