La collection publie des recherches qui s’inscrivent en priorité dans le domaine des sciences historiques, mais accueille volontiers diverses perspectives issues d’autres champs disciplinaires. Les Living Books peuvent avoir différents objectifs, comme proposer un bilan historiographique d’un courant de recherche, circonscrire les contours d’un nouvel objet d’étude, offrir une introduction à une thématique, illustrer différentes manières d’interpréter un corpus spécifique de sources ou encore analyser les enjeux d’un changement de paradigme.

Imago, Actus et Verbum. Challenges and Questions in Medieval Studies
A crossdisciplinary dialogue between philology, philosophy, history, art and literature
On the outset of the 21st century, cross-disciplinary studies on the Middle Ages seem to be in need of a careful reconsideration of their nature, scope and aims. This is specially so after the series of "turns" undergone by historiography in the last four decades. Despite their differences, philosophy, history, philology , literary studies and art are also bound through their work on texts; and all are currently faced with both methodological and substantive issues raised by important shifts in contemporary society. This congress is devoted to a global assessment of the current state of affairs in medieval studies, but also the upcoming challenges.

O que é o Livro da Noa? Introdução ao estudo dos manuscritos medievais
Este curso destina-se a estudantes de licenciatura, mestrado e doutoramento, bem como a todos os interessados no estudo da Idade Média, e tem como objectivo introduzir os participantes no estudo dos manuscritos medievais sob várias perspectivas (histórica, codicológica, filológica, linguística). Neste sentido, aplicar-se-ão conhecimentos básicos ao estudo de um caso concreto, o chamado Livro da Noa, para desenvolver capacidades técnicas que permitam a análise de outros textos.

Innovaciones y novedades en el campo de estudios alfonsíes
Les études récentes relatives à Alphonse X constituent un profond renouveau de la connaissance que nous avons aujourd'hui du monarque. De nombreuses pistes permettant une juste appréciation de la réalité alphonsine ont ainsi pu être identifiées. Grâce à la collaboration de l'Université de Birmingham et plus particulièrement du Estoria de Espana Project dirigé par le professeur Aengus Ward, l'atelier LEMSO (Littérature Médiévale et du Siècle d'Or, FRAMESPA, CNRS-UMR 5136) de l'Université de Toulouse - Jean Jaurès organise une journée d'études dédiés aux innovations dans le champ des études alphonsines. La journée regroupera de jeunes chercheurs ainsi que des spécialistes du sujet avec pour objectif l'examen de quelques mythes associés à Alphonse X. Nous proposerons de nouvelles erspectives relatives à la connaissance du Roi Savant à partir de travaux et méthodes inédits.

Una “nuova” storia contemporanea?
Le riviste digitali e lo studio del passato
Riprendendo alcuni spunti di analisi emersi nel Convegno Sissco su “La storia contemporanea attraverso le riviste” può essere utile soffermarsi in maniera sistematica sullo sviluppo delle riviste elettroniche a carattere scientifico e sulle peculiarità della cosiddetta “Digital History”.Sempre più forte è allora l’esigenza di promuovere una riflessione accurata sulle riviste digitali e sullo studio della storia, con attenzione alle metodologie e ai problemi interdisciplinari posti dalla contaminazioni tra strumenti e linguaggi diversi ma destinati a integrarsi sempre di più nella teoria e nella pratica della ricerca, nella produzione storiografica e nel discorso pubblico sulla storia. Si tratta di analizzare le diverse forme della narrazione storica, il rapporto tra la pagina digitale e le fonti audiovisive, le potenzialità di un intervento in tempo reale nel discorso pubblico e il ruolo delle riviste online nella didattica della storia. È un percorso di analisi da verificare con una tavola rotonda conclusiva, con l’obiettivo di superare le barriere esistenti tra le riviste storiche cartacee e le riviste elettroniche, rafforzare il dialogo tra le generazioni e rilanciare, oltre alla dimensione puramente accademica, la funzione della storia e il ruolo dello storico nel dibattito scientifico e culturale del tempo presente.
