Les organisateurs de ce colloque souhaitent dresser le bilan de la première année du second mandat du Président républicain, sous l’angle des frontières et des enjeux qui s’y rapportent. Que ce soient les frontières qu’il souhaite renforcer, celles qu’il ambitionne de redessiner ou bien encore celles qu’il veut redéfinir, il nous a semblé que cette thématique représentait un prisme d’analyse pertinent pour mieux comprendre la politique de Donald Trump et les forces qui la structurent.

Pragmatics and Social Justice in Africa
Although social justice is still a desire in most global communities, it is a more serious concern in Africa where multiple social, economic and political obstacles wrapped in ideological realities undermine the right for social justice. Thus, a pragmatic approach, with a multidisciplinary dimension, enhances the understanding of social justice, and its interfaces with issues of identities, ethnicity, sociality, culture, ecology and power dynamics. This 4th conference of the African Pragmatics Association seeks to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and critical thinking on the intricate and multidimensional relationship between pragmatics and social justice in Africa.

Comment associe-t-on les différentes formes du visuel et du textuel dans ce contexte ? Comment l’alliance entre le texte et l’image a-t-elle été intégrée dans les processus de la réception de la Grèce ancienne ? Qu’apporte la collaboration de la création littéraire et de la création visuelle aux différentes formes de la réception de la Grèce ancienne ? Quels aspects de l’Antiquité grecque, réelle ou imaginée, sont particulièrement mis en valeur grâce au dialogue entre les textes et les images dans les œuvres littéraires, historiques et philosophiques ?

Actors and representations of the safeguard of nature in mountain areas: a global perspective (late 18th – early 21st century)
The aim of this international scientific conference is to examine the progressive integration of the environmental protection theme into the several mountain ranges of the Earth, between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 21st century, concluding in 2022, the International Year of Mountains. By selecting a global perspective, it encourages a decentring of observation points, which in turn brings to light not only the diversity of trajectories but also the possible (direct or indirect) circulation of knowledge, materials, practices and individuals in the different mountain ranges.

Historical approaches to religious reinventions and social change in late modern societies
Special Issue for the journal “European Review of History”
From the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, religion played a continuous role in shaping societies worldwide. This period was marked by dramatic historical changes, including imperial expansion, decolonization, the devastation of two world wars, and the ideological tensions of the Cold War. Religious institutions, communities, and individuals actively engaged with all these phenomena, proving themselves to be co-creators of profound social, cultural, and political shifts. Currently seeking contributions from historians focusing on selected examples of religious transformation and social change in Eastern Orthodoxy, Catholicism of the Greek rite, Judaism and Islam.

Les étudiants doivent être inscrits en histoire de l’art, gemmologie, histoire des sciences et techniques ou du patrimoine (conservation, matériaux du patrimoine, …). Cette année le dispositif s’étend aux étudiants inscrits à un diplôme universitaire de gemmologie (DUG).

Social margins, statistical margins and spatial margins in the Indian Ocean
In the second half of 2027, Tsingy plans to publish an issue on social margins and marginal practices in the Indian Ocean. This issue will address the question of measurement as well as the mutual influences between norms and margins, questioning in particular the role of margins (social, spatial, or statistical) in the transformation of social norms.

La dictature des Duvalier, quarante ans plus tard : mémoires, histoire, héritages
Le 7 février 2026 marquera le 40e anniversaire du départ en exil de Jean-Claude Duvalier. À l’occasion de cet anniversaire, ce colloque international se propose d’examiner les spécificités et les enjeux du régime dictatorial instauré par les Duvalier en Haïti — François Duvalier (1957-1971), puis Jean-Claude Duvalier (1971-1986). Il se déroulera les 5 et 6 février 2026 au Carrefour des arts et des sciences de l’Université de Montréal et réunira des chercheurs.euses, des écrivain.e.s, des artistes ainsi que des acteurs communautaires en articulant des savoirs académiques et des pratiques de terrain. Cet événement scientifique aura lieu dans le cadre plus large d’une semaine d’activités visant à marquer les 40 ans de la chute de la dictature des Duvalier.

Franco-Indigenous Cultural Crossings (16th–18th Centuries)
L’histoire des rapports franco-autochtones entre 1534 et 1763 est marquée par une dynamique complexe d’échanges culturels, de transferts de savoirs et de reconfigurations identitaires. Sous le Régime Français, les pratiques d’imitation, d’adaptation et d’appropriation ont joué un rôle central dans les interactions entre Autochtones et Européens, mais aussi dans les relations intra-européennes et entre les différentes communautés des Premières Nations. Ces métissages peuvent être envisagés comme des stratégies de survie ou d’intégration. Ils se manifestent dans les domaines linguistique, religieux, artistique, juridique et politique, ainsi que dans diverses pratiques quotidiennes.

Summerschool: Marriage in Premodern Imagination
Art, Gender & Cultural History of an Institution and a Sacrament
The interdisciplinary summer school Marriage in Premodern Europe (1400–1800), jointly organized by Viadrina and Sorbonne University (Paris 1), investigates marriage as a theological, legal, and socio-political institution. Combining perspectives from literary studies, theology, religious and art history, and gender studies, the program examines how confessionalisation and legal regulation shaped norms, rituals, and power relations across Catholic, Lutheran, and Reformed traditions. Particular attention is given to the interaction between doctrine, institutional authority, and lived experience in the formation of premodern matrimonial cultures.

Urban temporalities and rythms in Northwestern Europe (14th-17th centuries)
This conference will allow us to grasp the measure of time in medieval and premodern urban societies, as well as the perception of its passage. The aim of the colloquium is to observe city dwellers caught in the interplay of multiple temporalities that shape their sense of belonging or exclusion from various social groups, such as merchant and artistic circles, as well as family and intimate networks. Crisis and the sense of acceleration that can arise from a situation of unrest or a sudden event are other factors that influence individuals’ perception of time. In short, the question will be how the inhabitants of cities (as well as those who pass through them) inhabit the present moment, a question that allows us to reconsider the notion of “presentism” developed by François Hartog, originally conceived for the contemporary period.
