Le projet Intimate Colonies (IC) place la dimension intime et familiale de la question coloniale au cœur de son analyse, dans le but d’apporter des éclairages originaux sur les significations et les enjeux des héritages et des mémoires coloniales dans les sociétés européennes contemporaines. Le projet se distingue des travaux existants en réunissant, au sein d’un même cadre analytique, les mémoires coloniales des familles issues des sociétés colonisées et de celles associées aux sociétés colonisatrices, reflétant ainsi la réalité multiculturelle des sociétés européennes partagées par ces populations, plutôt que d’aborder un seul versant de ce système relationnel.

“History of Communism in Europe” journal, no. 17/2026
This special issue of History of Communism in Europe seeks to explore these paradoxes of marginality under socialist regimes. We invite contributions that examine how marginal, liminal, and unfit groups or individuals were constructed, controlled, resisted, and reimagined across different socialist contexts. By focusing on the outskirts of socialist societies, we aim to advance comparative insights into the dynamics of inclusion and exclusion, domination and resistance, conformity and transgression.

Créé en 2023, le prix Dufaure - Comité d’histoire parlementaire et politique (CHPP) a pour objectif de récompenser chaque année l’auteur d’un mémoire de master portant sur la vie politique et parlementaire contemporain (depuis la Révolution française). Il est ouvert aux travaux s’inscrivant notamment dans les disciplines suivantes : droit constitutionnel et parlementaire, histoire politique, sciences politiques et sociologie politique.

La gouvernementalité européenne

L’Initiative Europe organise un séminaire de jeunes chercheurs consacré à la « gouvernementalité européenne ». À partir du concept forgé par Michel Foucault, il s’agit de proposer une généalogie des pratiques politiques européennes qui s’intéressera aux institutions, aux mécanismes, aux procédures, aux savoirs – c’est-à-dire aux « stratégies » – « qui permettent d’exercer cette forme bien spécifique, bien que complexe, de pouvoir, qui a pour cible principale la population, pour forme majeure de savoir, l’économie politique, pour instrument technique essentiel les dispositifs de sécurité ».

Réalités urbaines et récits contre-hégémoniques
Parler de « marseillologie » est une façon provocatrice d’interroger la pertinence de la perception très répandue du caractère supposément exceptionnel de la ville. Il s’agit ainsi de sortir des approches essentialisantes pour mettre en lumière les complexités et diversités de la ville de Marseille comme ville « ordinaire », au-delà des discours l’abordant à travers des thématiques stéréotypées comme la corruption, le clientélisme, la gentrification, la pauvreté, ou la délinquance ou le Marseille-hype… Ensuite, nous souhaitons penser Marseille dans le monde, c’est-à-dire l’interroger en comparaison avec d’autres espaces et d’autres villes, pour en comprendre ses dimensions spécifiques comme ses caractères ordinaires.

Southern Resilience and Emancipation in a Post-Westerndom World: Reflections on Global Governance
This panel would provide an empirical approach on what next of the controverted emergent Western ideocide, as a legitimacy crisis shaped new global governance structures. It also explores the anxieties surrounding the stress of Western dominance, the theoretical implications of the global south as affected by schizophrenic anxiety caused by a lack of ability to maintain Western hegemonic ethno-supremacy, and the recovery implications of Western anxieties. The concept of ‘ideocide’ serves as a focal point to discuss the transformation of global governance in light of these events.

Politics of demarcation and the radical right in post-war Europe
Discrimination – in its literal sense of drawing distinctions – is at the core of right-wing politics. The demarcation of people along imagined and uneven, hierarchical lines may be its key feature, yet one particular demarcation has so far escaped scholarly attention: The inner right’s self-definition, not as a nation, race, or Volk, but as a political movement and a coherent political thought, and its answer to the question of who is part of it and who is not. This process, though largely overlooked, can be seen as a particularly fraught one – at least for the right-wing movements of post-war Europe, which were not only faced with the tasks of shedding the devastating legacy of fascism, rearranging ideological fragments, and creating new self-attributions, agendas, and alliances. They also did so under the watchful eye of post-war societies and institutional actors, who themselves had strong motivations for defining what is (radically) right.

Local communities in Austria-Hungary and beyond
“Acta Poloniae Historica”
Changes in the management of the Habsburg Empire and new technologies, expanding the circulation of social communication, accelerated the modernisation processes taking place in Central Europe. It was an area inhabited by various ethnic, national, religious and linguistic communities; they had to rework their modus vivendi and to find their place in complex networks of relations, in the context of the liberalising legal framework of the 1860s in the Austrian part of the monarchy and the tightening grip of the state on the local non-Magyar initiatives in the Hungarian part. Deep and multi-faceted socio-cultural changes were leading to new cumulations of symbolic (and political) power; new groups, termed here as local communities (political, social, religious), were gaining visibility and sought recognition, according to changing configuration of values and integration impulses. We pose the question how the new or redefined communities were formed and managed.

L’association AnthropoVilles créée en 2018 est dédiée à l’anthropologie urbaine. Elle entend mettre en valeur les connaissances produites par l’enquête ethnographique et l’analyse anthropologique des mondes urbains. Elle organise des journées d’études/séminaires itinérants pour faire le point sur les différentes écoles de pensée qui ont fait l’anthropologie urbaine française. Il s’agit d’entreprendre une histoire des idées mais aussi de questionner le rapport entre les lieux et les idées : dans quelle mesure des formes de ville ont-elles influencé des formes de pensée ?

Comment construire une subjectivité carcérale
Il s'agira d'examiner et d'autopsier le milieu carcéral à partir principalement du vécu et de l'expérience des détenus. Il sera question de donner la parole à ceux qui ont été enfermés, ou qui ont pu assister au travail en coulisses de la machine carcérale, en y étant confrontés, d'où qu'ils viennent. Nous ouvrirons également le champ de cette contributionà ceux qui fréquentent les lieux d'enfermement et qui, à ce titre, disposent d'un poste d'observation privilégié.

Les mutations sociales et environnementales qui traversent nos sociétés obligent les chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales, les écrivains ainsi que les artistes, à réfléchir à de nouvelles méthodes afin d’approcher des enjeux qui semblaient, il y a longtemps, utopiques. Lors des quatre séances, ce programme a pour vocation de privilégier un dialogue interdisciplinaire entre différentes sciences humaines et sociales et la création littéraire et artistique comme représentation du réel. Qu’est-ce que la littérature et l’art peuvent attendre de l’histoire, de la philosophie, de l’anthropologie à l’heure d’un contexte marqué par la coexistence de deux régimes d’historicité : celui dicté par la technoscience et celui qui continue de déchirer le monde à cause des guerres traditionnelles ?

What place for democratic exchange in digital media spaces?
En collaboration avec le séminaire de recherche international ISSMDA (International Seminar on Social Media Discourse Analysis) et dans le cadre d’une collaboration CIVIS, le groupe de recherche ROMPOL du Département des études romanes et classiques de l’université de Stockholm organisera deux journées d’étude sur les places de l’échange démocratique dans les espaces médiatiques numériques. Ces journées d’étude auront lieu à l’université de Stockholm les mardi 18 et mercredi 19 juin 2024.
