Femmes et espaces de spectacle hors de la capitale (XVIIIe-XIXe siècles)
Ces deux journées d’étude ont pour objectif d’engager une réflexion sur le lien entre les espaces de spectacle et les femmes, dans les provinces et les colonies françaises aux XVIIIᵉ et XIXᵉ siècles. Pour cela, elles proposent de s’intéresser à plusieurs types d’espaces, de la micro- à la macro-échelle, au prisme du genre, et selon trois axes : les femmes à la tête des espaces horsde Paris, la place des femmes dans les lieux de spectacle, et la mobilité des femmes dans les espaces géographiques.

Patrimoine en péril dans les zones rurales et montagneuses (XIXe-XXIe siècle)
Les travaux récents ont largement démontré et en partie expliqué l’état alarmant de toute une typologie patrimoniale - liée au thermalisme - dans des territoires apparemment oubliés ou délaissés de l’action publique. Ce constat vient corroborer la situation plus connue mais tout aussi dramatique de l’architecture sacrée de ces mêmes zones géographiques qui témoigne autant des difficultés démographiques, financières, administratives ou politiques, auxquels ils sont confrontés. Entre histoire de l’architecture et du patrimoine, conservation matérielle et histoire de l’environnement, c’est à la croisée de tous ces enjeux culturels, environnementaux, socioéconomiques et politiques que se déploiera la réflexion inédite de ce colloque.

Rome’s conquest of Italy wrecked the existing political environment. This struggle involved Greeks, peoples of Central Italy, Gauls, Etruscans, and shaped the Mediterranean world, giving the historical base on which our own was built. Yet, it remains not fully understood. Through a multidisciplinary analysis integrating archaeological and historical sources, this conference aims to investigate the transformation of power dynamics—military, economic, and social—and their impact on both urban centres and peripheral territories.

Local Communities and the Fight for Historical Monuments in the 19th and 20th Centuries
What happens when those living alongside historical monuments – churchgoers, farmers, workers, custodians, local officials, non-human entities – see these sites as theirs? Through what sources and scholarly approaches can we recover their voices and their role in the state-led activities of restoration and preservation of architectural monuments? This conference explores the debates, conflicts and role of local communities in the heritage politics starting from the mid-19th century and focusing especially but not exclusively on Central and Eastern Europe. It also seeks to understand the role of non-human actors, such as plants, animals, natural formations, weather and the different, more-than-human perspectives, they bring to the process of heritage making.

Volume 31/2026 of Histoire des Alpes – Storia delle Alpi – Geschichte der Alpen wishes to dedicate its Dossier to the theme of monasteries and religious communities in the Alpine region. While the history of regular communities was largely investigated from the second half of the 19th century until the first years of the 20th century, in particular thanks to the impetus of members of the clergy who devoted themselves to collecting, transcribing and translating archives, as well as publishing monographs, there has been a revival of interest in this subject over the last few decades in the Alps and Pre-Alps, driven in particular by archaeologists, by the diversification of issues concerning the religious world and, locally, by the desire of the public authorities to broaden the range of the tourism offer by promoting local heritage.

Cette journée d’études ambitionne d’interroger sur le temps long ces notions, des sources historiques aux méthodologies utilisées en passant par l’évolution des représentations dont elles font l’objet. La mobilité façonne l’espace, qui encadre et régule à son tour les mobilités, dans un mouvement d’influence réciproque qui définit les structures et les représentations spatiales à travers le temps.

Colloque dans le cadre du festival d'histoire de Montbrison
Les liens complexes qui unissent l'homme à la forêt ont laissé des traces dans la mémoire commune. Le thème est devenu un standard dans la recherche depuis que se développe une histoire de l'environnement, une histoire culturelle et une histoire sensible. Le sujet de l’arbre et la forêt est une question écologique coupée des grands enjeux sociaux et culturels. Ce thème intéresse toutes les périodes de l'histoire : là où une forêt primitive avait déjà colonisé la terre, les premières familles d'hommes durent abattre les chênes pour planter une autre variété d'arbre : l'arbre généalogique. Bien des travaux de micro ou de macro-histoire portent sur la forêt dans ses rapports avec l’homme. Ce thème nécessite la rencontre d'autres sciences : humaines (géographie, littérature, sociologie, anthropologie, voire démographie) ou plus « dures » (archéologie, biologie, climatologie, dendrochronologie), voire des arts comme la médecine.

L’environnement naturel et sa perception constituent le cadre dans lequel les cultures anciennes se sont développées. Pour comprendre la portée de cette perception et appréhender la représentation mentale du monde qui les entourait, il est nécessaire de s’interroger sur les sensations (vue, toucher, odorat, goût, ouïe) que cet environnement produit. Afin d’étudier cette relation à la fois intime et collective, un large groupe de spécialistes en philologie classique, histoire et archéologie se réunira à la faculté des lettres de l’université de Murcie pour analyser comment les hommes et les femmes de l’Antiquité gréco-latine ont manifesté ce lien à travers leurs œuvres, leurs écrits et leurs témoignages matériels.

Les journées de terrain du Groupe d’histoire des zones humides (GHZH) ont pour objet d’accroître le dialogue entre chercheurs, gestionnaires et élus concernés par les zones humides, par l’intermédiaire d’exposés, de temps d’échange et de visites de terrain. Ces journées traiteront des enjeux d’aménagement et de gestion des grandes vallées fluviales en amont des villes et des métropoles, entre régulation hydraulique, préservation de la ressource en eau, protection de l’environnement et évolutions socio-économiques.

Le Centre d’histoire du XIXe siècle (Université Paris 1 – Sorbonne Université), en partenariat avec la Société d’histoire de la révolution de 1848 et des révolutions du XIXe siècle, désireux de rendre hommage à la mémoire du professeur Dominique Kalifa (1957-2020) et soucieux de promouvoir l’histoire du XIXe siècle dans son sens large, a créé un prix annuel destiné à récompenser une thèse de doctorat portant sur l’histoire du XIXe siècle (1800-1939). Ce prix est destiné à aider à la publication de la thèse.

Journal “Mutations en Méditerranée” (MeM) issue 2 - 2024
Imagine Herodotus travelling around the Mediterranean today, more than 2400 years after his voyages. Would he be surprised to see citrus fruits dotting the horizon? Would he be astonished to be served tomatoes? In 1940, Lucien Febvre retraced the evolution of Mediterranean agriculture from this multi-secular perspective. At the time, he may have been dreaming of an ancient Medi- terranean world made up of nothing but wheat, vines and olive trees, even though it was already a hub of global agricultural trade. The Mediterranean has witnessed the evolution of this agricultural and alimentary triad and how it is depicted, alongside the transformation of related practices. The dialectical relationship between the practices and depictions of this triad changed as a result of the climatic, demographic, political and technical upheavals that have marked and continue to trans- form this area. Wheat, vines and olive trees are thus seen as the first step in the study of transfor- mations of social practices and representations in the Mediterranean, at different spatial and tem- poral scales of analysis.

À l’image de la polysémie du paysage, la trilogie des journées d’étude sur les paysages ruraux a été conçue pour rassembler des chercheurs de différents champs : historiens, géographes, historiens de la littérature, linguistes, archéologues, juristes, artistes, dans une démarche transdisciplinaire. C’est en maintenant cette volonté de transdisciplinarité et « trans-chronie » que nous vous proposons la troisième et dernière rencontre : perception, représentation, patrimonialisation. Nous réfléchirons sur la dimension cognitive, symbolique et culturelle des paysages ruraux ainsi que sur les questions patrimoniales qui y sont associées.
