Consacrée à l’art méconnu des peintres d’offrandes dans la Grèce antique, la rencontre programmée à l’Ecole française d’Athènes le 6 mai permettra de présenter, durant la session du matin, les recherches menées sous l’égide du Louvre et du C2RMF sur la polychromie des statuettes de terre cuite. La seconde session sera consacrée à une ouverture vers l’Egypte ptolémaïque et romaine, en examinant la question de la transmission et des adaptations de la technè grecque au contexte multiculturel de l’Egypte gréco-romaine.

Perspectives from the Social Sciences and Humanities
This thematic issue explores the role of photography in social science research methods from the late 19th century to the present, with an ethnographic focus on the processes of production and co-production of fieldwork data. Whilst the intertwining of the medium with the renewal of modes of scientific observation and gaze in the 19th and 20th centuries is now well established, the past and current development of visual practices at the intersection of the social sciences and photography has, for its part, been explored more recently. Building on these works, this issue aims to follow the long-term evolution of ethnographic research methods involving and/or using photography, as well as the gradual development of its contemporary forms. What constitutes a (photographic) inquiry, and for whom? What roles do fieldworkers, ethnographer-photographers, and the institutions that oversee and commission inquiries play in it?

To celebrate the centenary of the Prague Linguistic Circle, an international conference is being held at INALCO. Focusing on the relationships between language, norm and society, the conference will build on the Prague theoretical tradition while engaging with contemporary research in sociolinguistics, glottopolitics, language teaching, language contact, variation and typology. The aim is to examine how these notions have evolved since their initial formulation, and to evaluate their continued relevance in the context of contemporary linguistic studies.

The journal welcomes submissions adopting comparative, international and interdisciplinary perspective, drawing on history, anthropology, sociology, political science, and studies in literature, cinema, theatre, music and artistic creation.

L’intranquillité pour les historiens des facultés de droit
L’intranquillité est un terme qui traduit l’idée du Desassossego chez le poète portugais Fernando Pessoa. Ramené au Droit dans sa longue histoire, il permet de penser l’envers de concepts juridiques bien connus : la tranquilité et la paix publique, l’ordre public, politique, social et moral ou encore le bon voisinage et la jouissance paisible de la propriété. Plus largement il ouvre un horizon large sur l’instabilité et l’insécurité juridique dont les sujets de droits peuvent être victime. L’objectif du colloque est de déterminer, à partir de multiples exemples, si l’intranquillité ne permet pas, par son prisme, de saisir un angle nouveau du concept de droit.

La conférence internationale annuelle d’ORBICOM 2026, intitulée « Médias, intelligence artificielle et démocratie : imaginaires communicationnels dans un monde numérique fragmenté », propose une réflexion interdisciplinaire sur les transformations contemporaines des espaces publics à l’ère du numérique. Elle vise à analyser les impacts des technologies numériques et de l’intelligence artificielle sur la circulation de l’information, la démocratie et les pratiques médiatiques. L’événement entend favoriser le dialogue entre chercheurs, décideurs et acteurs de la société civile autour des enjeux de désinformation, de gouvernance du numérique, de diversité culturelle et de citoyenneté numérique.

Les transformations des mondes sociaux de la pêche
Cette journée d’étude vise à analyser les transformations des mondes sociaux de la pêche, qu’elle soit artisanale ou industrielle, et qu’elle s’exerce dans des espaces maritimes, lacustres, ou d’autres zones aquatiques. Dans une perspective comparatiste, nous cherchons à réunir ici des travaux issus de recherches ethnographiques aussi bien « embarquées » que réalisées dans les espaces terrestres de commerce et de transformation du poisson et dans les lieux dans lesquels ils s’inscrivent. Nous construirons une réflexion collective visant à comprendre comment les sociétés halieutiques négocient leur existence dans des contextes marqués par l'incertitude écologique, la pression réglementaire, les mutations technologiques et les recompositions de marchés.

La photographie aérienne et spatiale : entre héritage et usages contemporains
La photographie a 200 ans en 2026. À l’occasion des manifestations prévues par le ministère de la Culture pour mettre à l’honneur cet art, le musée de l’Air et de l’Espace organise un colloque de trois jours d’échange et de découverte intitulé « La photographie aérienne et spatiale : entre héritage et usages contemporains ». Ce colloque vise à aborder la question centrale de la photographie aérienne et spatiale comme outil scientifique, artistique et patrimonial, pour produire et structurer une représentation du fait aérien, tout en renouvelant notre regard sur les territoires et leurs usages.

Patching up. Intermediality. History and Theory of the Arts, Literature, and Technologies

Patching up means adding pieces—patches—to maintain, repair, and extend the life of something; at times, it goes beyond simply filling a gap to become a creative act. We start from the premise that objects and infrastructures, like bodies and communities, can be patched up—and that what is patched up is never quite “as it was before.” Its appearance, function, and meaning may shift; the pieces themselves are redefined by what they join. Patching up is therefore less about restoring a previous state than about producing something that did not exist before: a different object, a new reality. This creative, poietic, and performative dimension lies at the heart of this issue, which seeks to explore both the material act of patching up and the political gestures and worldviews that accompany it.

How do choices of corpora, tools or formats shape research practices? What kind of memory of science is thus produced, made visible, or, on the contrary, devalued? What mechanisms—existing or in development—can ensure that the digitization of academic literature effectively supports research practices, whether traditional or emerging?

La question de l’émancipation des individus reste au cœur du mandat officiel de nombreuses institutions publiques, tout en prenant souvent des formes problématiques voire paradoxales. Partant de cette configuration, cette journée d’étude vise à faire le point sur le(s) rôle(s) que la recherche en sciences humaines et sociales peut jouer dans les dynamiques d’émancipation versus normalisation dans lesquelles sont pris les acteurs des institutions (leurs professionnels comme leurs publics), mais aussi les chercheurs eux-mêmes.

This doctoral contract is open to Hellenist or digital classicist candidates with a background in Ancient Greek, whose research will be conducted within the Égée partnership development project: Éditions grecques, épistémologies et environnements numériques (Greek Editions, Epistemologies, and Digital Environments). Structured around three complementary axes (epistemological models, digital production tools, and dissemination) the project aims to renew the conception, production, and distribution of ancient Greek texts in order to establish new textual, editorial, and scholarly models suited to the digital age.

L’ambition du présent colloque est d’explorer l’importance sans précédent que revêt le gris au cours du « long » XIXe siècle, alors même que l’on assiste à un véritable chromatic turn qui transforme l’ensemble des humanités à l’époque. Croisant les approches disciplinaires et méthodologiques (études littéraires, histoire de l’art, conservation et restauration du patrimoine, musicologie, cultural studies), et inscrit dans une perspective globale, ce colloque vise à interroger les problématiques que cristallise la couleur grise dans les productions artistiques du XIXᵉ siècle.

We invite submissions for the edited volume The Handbook of Religion and Transmedia Storytelling: From Antiquity to the Digital Age. We invite scholars across disciplines, including religious studies, media studies, cultural studies, literary studies, narrative studies, anthropology, and political science. We particularly welcome proposals that focus on a wide range of traditions and cultural contexts, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Indigenous traditions, Afro-diasporic religions, and esotericism. We also encourage contributions that examine phenomena at the intersections of religion and broader cultural domains, for example conspiracy theories, speculative fiction, nonfiction paranormal narratives, and apocalyptic narratives.

Deuxièmes journées d'étude des pratiques sociales de l'écrit
Pursuing the dialogue opened by Michel Dabène that helped bring to the fore more than thirty years ago the need to move beyond the dichotomy between “literary writing” and “ordinary writing.” Since writing is a staging of language, writing practices always reflect an “attention, never entirely absent but more or less acute, to the different levels of the elaboration of the written object (materiality, spelling, lexicon, syntax, textual organization) and by a submission, never totally absent but more or less assumed, to the (linguistic and social) norms that govern these different levels”.
