Contours du wuxiapian : économies, esthétiques, théories et disséminations

Ce projet d’ouvrage se propose d’explorer les contours du wuxiapian comme genre cinématographique à la fois codifié et profondément instable, situé au croisement d’héritages littéraires, de cultures populaires et de logiques industrielles. Dans le prolongement des travaux consacrés au chanbara, il s’agit d’analyser ses formes esthétiques, ses gestes martiaux et ses dimensions politiques, tout en interrogeant ses circulations historiques, transmédiatiques et transnationales. L’ouvrage entend contribuer à l’intégration académique du wuxiapian dans l’espace francophone, en adoptant une posture théorique attentive aux médiations culturelles et aux conditions de production des savoirs.

The Seine has shaped the history of the Impressionist movement, which, in turn, left a lasting mark on the land. The research framework of this programme places the focus on this influential geographical backdrop, as part of a broader reflection on our regions. Housing traditions, ways of life, social structures, land uses, and the impact of agricultural and industrial development on the landscape are just some of the lines of research that require further study about Impressionism. This summer school aims to open up new perspectives through cross-disciplinary collaboration while experimenting with scales of analysis, to reflect on the experience of land from the most personal to the most universal.

Calligraphies at the Frontiers of the Islamicate World: Practices, Circulations, and Appropriations

This conference marks the conclusion of the research programme CallFront, dedicated to the study of Arabic-script calligraphy at the frontiers of the Islamic world. It will explore several themes central to the project, including the evolution of styles, the transmission of knowledge and calligraphic practices, as well as the symbolic and spiritual dimensions of certain uses of writing. The event will also highlight the programme’s achievements, with a round table devoted to the contribution of digital tools to the analysis of scripts, a presentation of the publications produced within the framework of the project, and the screening of a film based on fieldwork missions, offering an immersive insight into the practices under study.

Ce CDD de trois ans (prise de fonctions en janvier–février 2026) requiert : une expertise avérée en ingénierie de projets transfrontaliers, ainsi qu’une maîtrise des dispositifs de financement Interreg. Le·la titulaire du poste coordonnera un consortium quadripartite franco espagnol et assumera la responsabilité du pilotage administratif, financier et scientifique du projet. Le profil recherché conjugue compétences en gestion de projets européens, bilinguisme français–espagnol et sensibilité aux enjeux de valorisation patrimoniale et d’études de genre.

Géographies du réel et géographies de l’imaginaire de l’Afrique centrale dans les narrations coloniales et postindépendances

En hommage à l’œuvre de Valentin Yves Mudimbe

Les savoirs sur l’Afrique, accumulés par les voyageurs écrivains, de l’Antiquité, du Moyen Âge, puis les navigateurs et les commerçants postmédiévaux (XVI^e au XVIII^esiècle) jusqu’à l’ère coloniale avec les explorateurs, les missionnaires, les géographes, les ethnographes, les anthropologues et des férus des contrées exotiques africaines, fabriquent une identité africaine stéréotypée. Ces savoirs forment le socle de la « bibliothèque coloniale » ainsi désignée par V.Y. Mudimbe, pour qualifier l'ensemble des textes produits en Occident sur l’Afrique. V.Y. Mudimbe soutient qu’il est nécessaire de déconstruire cette « bibliothèque » pour que les Africains puissent se réapproprier leur propre discours et se libérer du regard extérieur imposé par la colonisation.

Les changements des habitus culinaires au Cameroun

Culinary habits in Cameroon are now deeply influenced by globalization and urbanization, leading to a revision and sometimes a distortion of traditional recipes. The introduction of foreign products and the adoption of faster food practices have changed the habits of Cameroonians. These changes affect the transmission of culinary heritage to younger generations and jeopardize the preservation of traditional cuisine, considered a valuable intangible heritage. This call for papers explores the impact of globalization on food practices, public health, and the local economy. It also raises the question of how Cameroonian cuisine can adapt to modern realities, taking into account the tension between the modernization of recipes and the preservation of culinary cultural identity.

Animals in Byzantine fables, proverbs, and dreambooks

Studies on animals in the Byzantine world are gaining considerable momentum. An increasing number of scholars are exploring and reconstructing zoobiographies through the lens of Byzantine literature. Yet a significant corpus of texts—often unjustly relegated to the category of minora—remains underexplored, despite teeming with animal life. In fables, popular tales, proverb collections, school manuals, rhetorical treatises, and dreambooks, animals play important roles : they drive narrative plots, embody moral and social agency, and serve as crucial vehicles for cultural meaning.

Message, Medium, Mobility in Europe and the Colonies in the Long Eighteenth Century (1650-1850)

The long eighteenth century is widely recognisedby scholars as a golden age of letter writing, characterised by the expansion of transnational and transatlantic correspondence networks among the elites. Particularly in Britain, this period witnessed an unprecedented enthusiasm for epistolary exchange, which led to a proliferation of publications—ranging from scholarly productions such as theoretical treatises and letter-writing manuals, to literary works, whether fictional, sentimental, general, or biographical. These developments contributed to a redefinition of epistolary conventions, narrative models, and often gendered representations of letter writing.
