L'objectif est de dresser un état des lieux de ces trajectoires artistiques, individuelles et collectives, au sein des dynamiques politiques et institutionnelles coloniales qui les ont conditionnées et façonnées. Elle entend ainsi identifier les contacts, les connexions, circulations, réseaux artistiques et échanges esthétiques qui existent et se créent entre artistes issues des métropoles européennes et artistes originaires des territoires colonisés.

« Découper suivant les pointillés » : images manufacturées à manipuler (XVIIIe-XXIe siècles)
Papier et carton léger, matériaux fragiles et omniprésents du quotidien, sont des supports de créativité autour desquels s’articulent une multitude de savoir-faire. Travaillée par tous ces gestes, l’image imprimée quitte le monde des surfaces planes pour affirmer sa matérialité en plusieurs dimensions. Ce colloque s’intéresse aux rapports entre image, papier, et manipulation, aux images de papier produites en série pour être manipulées, construites et enrichies par leurs publics, et aux pratiques amateures s’appuyant sur des images sérielles destinées ou non à de telles pratiques (scrapbooking à partir d’éphémères, coloriage d’estampes, broderie d’images pieuses ou de cartes postales, etc.)

Artworks and the meaningful connections among their parts
As an increasing number of studies are demonstrating with growing clarity, the analysis of certain aspects - or more precisely, components - of paintings through the lens of their materiality can reveal crucial insights into the artwork itself. These include not only the materials in the strict sense, such as canvas, wood, or nails, but also their composition as a whole, understood as a unified entity, essential to the artwork.

Chercher – exposer – trouver #2
Chercher–Exposer–Trouver #2 est un colloque international consacré aux logiques de variation, de reprise et de réécriture des expositions dans les pratiques de recherche contemporaine. Après une première rencontre au musée d’archéologie de Nice / Cimiez en 2024 qui a permis de mettre en avant le caractère heuristique des expositions pour les chercheurs et chercheuses de divers horizons, la deuxième édition de Chercher-exposer-trouver vise à approfondir notre compréhension des effets de l’écriture expographique sur la recherche et ses objets.

L’année 2026 marque le quarantième anniversaire du musée d’Orsay, ouvert au public le 9 décembre 1986. Dans le cadre des célébrations associées à cette date événement, l’établissement public du musée d’Orsay et du musée de l’Orangerie – Valéry Giscard d’Estaing organise, les 2 et 3 décembre 2026, un colloque scientifique international qui rassemblera à Paris des spécialistes de disciplines et de provenances géographiques variées. Il ambitionne de remettre en perspective l’histoire du musée d’Orsay et son rôle clé dans la perception et la mise en récit des développements artistiques de la seconde moitié du XIXe et du début du XXe siècle.

Ciné-feuilletons, ciné-romans, ciné-romans-photos et autres hybridations transmédiatiques (XXe-XXIe siècles)
Ce colloque propose d’étudier les formes imprimées issues du cinéma ou liées à sa promotion. Il s’intéresse au phénomène du ciné-roman et à ses multiples avatars (ciné-feuilletons, novellisations, romans-photos), apparus dès les années 1910 dans le contexte de l’essor industriel du cinéma et de la culture médiatique de masse. Ces objets hybrides, mêlant texte et image (photographies, photogrammes, dessins), participent d’une culture transmédiatique fondée sur la sérialité, la diffusion cumulative et la complémentarité entre écran et imprimé.

Cultivating one’s own garden, expanding horizons
Mapping the personal and the collective through history of art and the humanities, from Impressionism to the present day
The Seine has shaped the history of the Impressionist movement, which, in turn, left a lasting mark on the land. The research framework of this programme places the focus on this influential geographical backdrop, as part of a broader reflection on our regions. Housing traditions, ways of life, social structures, land uses, and the impact of agricultural and industrial development on the landscape are just some of the lines of research that require further study about Impressionism. This summer school aims to open up new perspectives through cross-disciplinary collaboration while experimenting with scales of analysis, to reflect on the experience of land from the most personal to the most universal.

Mobilising Heritage: Dance, Theatre, and Performance in the Age of (In)Tangibility
European Journal of Theatre and Performance, Vol. 8, No. 1
This turn toward the intangible and communal dimensions of heritage exposed deep tensions between preservation and change, expert authority and bottom-up participation, or institutional policies and bodily practices. These frictions are particularly visible in dance and the performing arts, where heritage is literally embodied, enacted, and reimagined through practice. In what this special issue terms the age of (in)tangibility, the performing arts are recognised as intangible heritage precisely as they are rendered tangible through documentation, digitisation, and policy frameworks, revealing a constitutive tension between embodied, relational knowledge that exists only in practice and the material, institutional forms through which heritage is named, governed, and sustained.

Seconde édition de l’université d’été « Recherches sur l’art du dix-septième siècle », l’événement offrira un lieu et un temps privilégiés de rencontres entre professionnels et jeunes chercheurs travaillant sur l’image en histoire de l’art, histoire, littérature, philosophie, arts du spectacle et musicologie. Il accueillera les recherches interdisciplinaires les plus stimulantes consacrées à l’art européen et extra-européen du XVIIe siècle (entendu largement, des années 1580 à 1720). Le thème retenu pour l’édition 2026 est « Docere, delectare, movere » (instruire, plaire, émouvoir).

It emerges from techniques and poetics, from software and code, from manual and automated actions, but also from cultural and artistic objects—whether physical or not—born from production in the intersection of art, science, and technology. The theme of this edition reveals crossings between the analog and the digital without establishing hierarchies.

This international online conference explores the complex interrelations between truth, fake and falsified information, and knowledge authority in the context of digital transformation processes. In light of increasing disinformation, AI-generated content, and algorithmic bias, museums face the challenge of rethinking their role as trusted spaces for knowledge dissemination. At the same time, digital technologies open up new possibilities for participation, contextualization, and translation. At the heart of the conference is the question of how museums can assume digital responsibility and actively contribute to fostering an open and reflective information culture.

Intermédialité, décolonialité et création
Nous interpréterons différents types d’archives visuelles dans une perspective intermédiale et décoloniale, c’est-à-dire en interrogeant les liens entre les différentes formes et utilisations des images d’archives, le rôle des technologies mobilisées pour leur conception et celui des institutions au sein desquelles ils s’inscrivent (archives, musée, salle de cinéma, tribunal, université, etc.). En plus de l’intermédialité qui demeure l’axe principal de l’école d’été, plusieurs autres approches seront mobilisées allant des études autochtones à l’anthropologie, les études cinématographiques et photographiques, mais aussi les humanités numériques et la préservation audiovisuelle.

Entre memoria y agentivida, ¿cómo refleja el agua la capacidad de los individuos y las comunidades humanas para articular discursos o actos de resistencia a través del arte ? ¿Las representaciones del agua —elemento dual— funcionan como símbolos de violencia o permiten imaginar otras formas de habitar el mundo ?

At a time when ecology has become a major preoccupation and a key issue in political, economic and social terms alike, art historians have resolutely taken on the questions it raises through a profound renewal of their approach to nature. The term “figures”, in the geometrical and metaphorical sense of forms, singular historical and cultural configurations, calls for identifying, investigating and understanding the different definitions of naturalism that the history of art has produced, depending on their specific intellectual contexts.
