  Langues et identité dans les récits d’origine du Moyen Âge

  Ces journées d’étude ont pour but d’interroger le rôle de la langue — telle qu’elle peut apparaître dans les récits d’origine — comme facteur constitutif d’identité ethnique ou nationale. Si l’association entre un peuple et une langue apparaît comme naturelle au Moyen Âge – à la suite d’Isidore de Séville – elle n’est pas toujours présente dans les chroniques. Il s’agira donc de réfléchir au contexte politique et intellectuel qui permet le développement de cette thématique, ainsi que de la manière dont les chroniqueurs l’incluent dans leurs récits.

  L’Est en guerre

  Espace, sociétés et mémoires dans le couloir des invasions (1870-1945)

  L’histoire des batailles a depuis longtemps retenu l’attention des historiens. Toutefois la guerre connaît un renouvellement historiographique important depuis les années 1990. Au-delà des seuls aspects proprement stratégiques ou tactiques, les historiens en explorent maintenant les multiples dimensions politiques, économiques, sociétales ou mémorielles. La Société d’histoire des Ardennes propose aux chercheurs de différents horizons, historiens, géographes, archéologues, sociologues, un colloque pour venir échanger sur le thème L’Est en guerre : espace, sociétés et mémoires dans le couloir des invasions (1870-1945). Ce colloque s’inscrit d’emblée dans une approche comparative des différentes situations dans le temps et l’espace des trois conflits.

  La littérature sur les apprentissages semble avoir développé beaucoup moins d’accointances avec la notion d’espace qu’elle n’avait su le faire avec la question du temps, de la durée ou du rythme, à moins qu’il ne faille d’emblée considérer des « espaces-temps » de l’apprentissage. Le présent appel entend contribuer à pallier ce déséquilibre apparent. Les approches de l’espace intéressant le présent appel à contributions mettent en jeu les notions d’apprentissage et d’expérience.

  Économie sociale et solidaire et animation socioculturelle : quelles contributions dans la résilience des territoires ?

  Sur les problématiques participatives du meilleur vivre ensemble, de cohésion sociale et de pacification des différentes conflictualités de la cité, l’animation socioculturelle s’appuie sur le capital axiologique (système de valeurs) et les méthodes d’intervention de l’éducation populaire et de l’économie sociale et solidaire. Le colloque entend positionner le « territoire » comme un opérateur principal, un mode de régulation, tout en cherchant à mettre en lumière le fait qu’il est question d’un niveau mésoéconomique, c’est-à-dire intermédiaire, partiel et inachevé. L’échelle territoriale adoptée semble donc adaptée à la concertation, la coopération et la coordination d’acteurs en vue de trouver des solutions inédites aux nouveaux besoins sociaux.

  A History of Constant Reform: Crime and Punishment in the Twentieth Century

  In the twentieth century, laws, legal institutions, and prison facilities seemed to be characterized by a constant process of reform. Though there were occasional accelerations and downturns, the reform movement never entirely stopped. Thus, the discourses and practices of criminality and of legal sanctions and their execution evolved substantially, while the individuals involved in the legal and penal systems – the accused, accusers, lawyers, judges, prison inmates, prison workers, and criminologists – became more diverse in terms of gender, social and geographic origin, professionalization, etc.

  Le terme d’humanités convient-il encore pour définir un curriculum et pour interroger les modalités de transmission et de formation des nouvelles générations ? L’émergence des humanités scientifiques, médicales, numériques et environnementales n’interroge-t-elle pas profondément la signification que nous devons accorder aujourd’hui à cette formulation ? Cette démultiplication des usages du terme peut aussi en appauvrir le sens et en réduire la portée, voire conduire à une instrumentalisation préjudiciable de celui-ci. Pour éviter que ces nouvelles humanités ne deviennent une caution bien commode ou un simple supplément d’âme ne doivent-elles pas s’inspirer de la puissance critique des humanités classiques dont elles sont les héritières, tout en prenant à bras le corps les questionnements les plus urgents auxquels se trouve confrontée l’humanité aujourd’hui ?
