  Poesiæuropa 2023 - fellowship applications

  Poesiæuropa aims to discuss the features of contemporary humanistic culture, especially from the perspective of poets, to reflect on the value of our cultural and spiritual roots, and to develop – together – a vision for the future. The fifth edition of Poesiæuropa will take place in 2023 and gather authors and scholars from many countries in a special school on the Polvese Island (Lake Trasimeno, Umbria, Italy) from May 30 to June 3, 2023. There are 20 fellowships available, and applications for them are free: There are no limits of age, job, or nationality. Each fellowship covers accomodation costs, but not travel costs.

  The Swiss National Science Foundation-funded Research Project ‘Fighting Insect Enemies at the Tropical Frontier: Entomology in Plantation Economies c. 1890-1930’ directed by Dr. Tomás Bartoletti offers a PhD position associated with the professorship for History of the Modern World in the Department of Human, Social and Political Sciences of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich, Switzerland. The position is funded for four years and the thesis will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Harald Fischer-Tiné in close cooperation with Dr. Tomás Bartoletti. Depuis 2017, le Prix Carbonnier est attribué en partenariat avec les éditions Dalloz. Rédigés en français, publiés ou non, d’un·e auteur·rice français·e ou étranger·ère, ces travaux doivent avoir été achevés, ou soutenus s’il s’agit d’une thèse, entre le 1^er septembre 2021 et le 31 décembre 2022.

  Museums and industry: Long Histories of Collaboration - Postdoc position

  The Laboratoire d’études et de recherche sur le monde anglophone, Aix-Marseille University (AMU), is shortly to commence a major academic research project, “Museums and industry: Long Histories of Collaboration” (MaILHoC). Working with partners in the UK, Spain, and Norway, the aim of the project is to explore the impacts of industrial patronage – with a particular focus on the ethical dimensions of this relationship – on European museums of science and industry in both comparative and historical context. The project will compare insights drawn from a wide spread of historical case studies with a range of contemporary workshops exploring the ethics of industrial patronage. This position is based at AMU’s Humanities Faculty in Aix-en-Provence. The successful candidate will carry out research in archives in France and Britain while also participating in events organised by the various partners.

  Dans le cadre de son action pour la reconnaissance et la protection du patrimoine architectural français du XX^e siècle, Docomomo France – section française de l’ONG Docomomo International – a mis en place un système d’aides destinées aux étudiants travaillant sur ce sujet. Désormais, deux bourses – de 2000€ chacune – par an seront attribuées à des doctorants ou à de jeunes docteurs, inscrits dans un établissement universitaire, dans le but de les aider au financement de leur recherche ou bien de leur projet de publication.
