Le troisième prix Étienne Baluze d'histoire locale européenne, fondé en 2007 par l'Association des amis du musée du Cloître André Mazeyrie et du Vieux Tulle, sera remis le 18 janvier 2013. Il récompense une thèse de doctorat inédite, soutenue depuis 2010 inclus et consacrée à un sujet d'histoire locale, entre le XIVe et le XXIe siècle ; elle doit apporter des éléments importants de connaissance et de compréhension des processus de constitution de l'espace européen, jusque dans ses configurations les plus actuelles. Les langues de rédaction des thèses sont l'allemand, l'anglais, l'espagnol, le français et l'italien. En plus d'un buste d'Étienne Baluze, œuvre de la sculptrice contemporaine Nacera Kainou, le lauréat recevra une récompense d'un montant de 1500 €.
