  Le Centre André Chastel propose un nouveau cycle mensuel de rencontres scientifiques, dans des champs variés de l’histoire de l’art médiéval, moderne et contemporain, coordonné par Jérémie Koering (CNRS) et Emmanuel Lurin (Université Paris-Sorbonne). Conférences, tables rondes et présentations d’ouvrages permettront de faire connaître au public les travaux les plus récents de ses membres et correspondants.

  Terra Foundation Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship in ENS – INHA (2013)

  This two-year postdoctoral fellowship focuses on the history of American art and visual culture. The selected fellow teaches four semester-long courses to undergraduate and master’s-level students at a French university, participates in local seminars at the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art and at the hosting university, and organizes academic programs on related research topics.

  Appel à contribution pour le prochain monographique de FORMA (Revue d’études compares, art, littérature et philosophie), « Les images du livre ». Forma est une revue numérique née au sein de l'Institut universitaire de culture (UIC) et du Département de sciences sociales de l'université Pompeu Fabra de Barcelone; tous deux caractérisés par la pluridisciplinarité. FORMA privilégie donc le dialogue entre disciplines et traditions critiques. Ainsi, nous invitons des professeurs, étudiants en doctorat et autres chercheurs à nous envoyer un article ou un compte-rendu sur une oeuvre scientifique.

  These grants provide support for publication projects on historical American art (pre-1980) that make a significant contribution to scholarship and have an international dimension. Projects may include translations of texts on American art; publications written by non-U.S. scholars or those with a significant number of non-U.S. contributors; and publications with a focused thesis exploring American art in an international context. Projects must be under contract for publication.

  Terra Foundation Research Travel Grants to the United States (2013)

  For doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars

  Six to nine grants are awarded annually to doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars outside the United States to travel to the United States for research on pre-1980 American art and visual culture. Doctoral students receive up to $6,000; postdoctoral scholars (those who received their degree within ten years of the application deadline) receive up to $9,000. Destinations and duration of travel are determined by fellows.

  Meetings and exchanges of "Les trois lumières" association (2012-2013)

  L'association « Les trois lumières » (association des chercheurs-es en études cinématographiques de l'université Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne), fondée par un groupe de doctorants en études cinématographiques de Paris 1 en octobre 2004, a pour vocation de rassembler les chercheurs s'intéressant au cinéma afin de développer et promouvoir la recherche dans ce domaine. Les réunions-échanges permettent à de jeunes chercheurs de différents niveaux et disciplines (historiens, esthéticiens, économistes, mais aussi philosophes, sociologues ou encore anthropologues) ayant pour objet d'étude le cinéma, de se rencontrer, de présenter leurs sujets de recherche et de discuter autour de ces derniers, en parlant de leurs méthodes, de leurs sources, de leurs résultats et de leurs difficultés.

  Displaced Objects (D.O)

  La collection « Displaced Objects (D.O.) » a été récemment ouverte aux éditions Le Ver à soie, en partenariat avec le programme « Non-lieux de l'exil »(FMSH). Les textes sollicités ne doivent pas excéder 50 000 signes et peuvent être littéraires ou scientifiques. La collection est ouverte à des contributions de tous champs et les textes retenus paraîtront de manière échelonnée à partir du printemps 2013. L’objectif de cette collection de textes de moins de 50 000 signes est de rendre compte du parcours d’objets singuliers, les objets de l’exil, de leurs requalifications et métamorphoses, des narrations et affects qu’ils soutiennent, des processus enfin, par lesquels ils sont vécus mais échappent également à leurs détenteurs.

  The epistemology of drawing (2012-2013)

  Concepts, reading and interpretations, 19th-21st centuries

  Par l’examen approfondi de corpus diversifiés croisant des grilles d’analyses pluridisciplinaires, le séminaire, sur le registre de l’anthropologie culturelle, questionne les « racines de l’œuvre », isole aussi ses fonctions socio-esthétiques grâce à une typologie critique. De la sorte, fidèle aux interrogations du philosophe Gaëtan Picon arpentant les « Sentiers de la Création » aux tournants des années 1970 lorsqu’il évoque, par exemple, les dessins de Miró, pour la plupart inaboutis : « […] ce témoignage sur ce qui aurait pu être n’a pas moins d’importance. Le pays de la création est plein de ces chemins dont parle Heidegger, qui ne mènent nulle part, si ce n’est aux entrelacs de leur errance. Que la création avant d’être l’acte irréparable de l’œuvre, ait été intention, puissance, nous le voyons ici, de tout près […] », le séminaire cherche à toucher, frôler au moins, « l’ailleurs » de l’œuvre. Ouvrant jusqu’à l’actualité afin d’interpréter les ferments de la création contemporaine, le groupe de recherche ne fait pas l’impasse sur les artistes, architectes ou designers d’aujourd’hui.

  The Terra Foundation for American Art International Essay Prize

  The Terra Essay Prize recognizes excellent scholarship by a non-U.S. scholar in the field of historical American art (ca. 1500-1980). Ph.D. candidates and above are eligible to participate. Preference will be given to studies that address American art within a cross-cultural context and offer new ways of thinking about the material. A strong emphasis on visual analysis is encouraged. Manuscripts previously published in a foreign language are eligible if released within the last two years. For scholars from English-language countries, only unpublished manuscripts will be considered.

  Cycle de conférences organisé par le pôle Cultures et patrimoines de la MSH de Dijon, en partenariat avec le Centre Georges Chevrier (UMR 5605) et le CIMEOS (EA 4177). Ce cycle s’adresse aux étudiants de l'Ub, notamment ceux des filières qui préparent aux métiers de la culture. Librement ouvert au public, il participe d'une volonté assumée de démocratisation des savoirs à l'échelle, non seulement du Grand campus, mais de la cité.
