  The organising community

  Politicisation and collective action in popular districts

  L’objectif de ce séminaire est d’interroger l'attrait récent en France pour la notion de community organizing, d’éclairer les modalités de circulation internationale de ces pratiques afin notamment de comprendre si elles sont transposables dans l'hexagone. Qui sont les vecteurs de ces transferts d’innovations politiques et de répertoires militants ? Quel rapport aux institutions et au changement social est véhiculé par ces « organisations communautaires » ? Comment s’articulent conflit, rapport de force et délibération dans les campagnes des organisations communautaires ? En quoi le répertoire d’action du community organizing s’avère-t-il efficace pour mobiliser les catégories populaires ? La recherche d’efficacité des campagnes rentre-t-elle en tension avec les visées d’émancipation des personnes ? Quelle place occupent les congrégations religieuses dans cette forme de mouvement social ?

  These grants provide support for publication projects on historical American art (pre-1980) that make a significant contribution to scholarship and have an international dimension. Projects may include translations of texts on American art; publications written by non-U.S. scholars or those with a significant number of non-U.S. contributors; and publications with a focused thesis exploring American art in an international context.   Smithsonian American Art Museum Fellowship Opportunities

  The Smithsonian American Art Museum and its Renwick Gallery invite applications for research fellowships in art and visual culture of the United States. A variety of predoctoral, postdoctoral, and senior fellowships are available. Fellowships are residential and support independent and dissertation research. The stipend for a one-year fellowship is $30,000 for predoctoral fellows or $45,000 for senior and postdoctoral fellows, plus generous research and travel allowances. The standard term of residency is twelve months, but terms as short as three months will be considered; stipends are prorated for periods of less than twelve months.

  Young researchers workshop

  Un atelier mensuel « Jeunes chercheurs handicap(s) et sociétés » se tiendra lors de l'année universitaire 2013 / 2014. Cet atelier s’adresse principalement à des doctorants et post-doctorants engagés dans un travail de recherche sur le handicap. Il est organisé avec le réseau de jeunes chercheurs du programme Handicaps et sociétés de l’EHESS. Les séances offriront aux jeunes chercheurs un espace de présentation et de discussion de leurs travaux. Les questions pratiques rencontrées (publications, orientation professionnelle) ainsi que les problèmes méthodologiques (rapport au handicap, recherche participative) feront l’objet d’une réflexion collective.
