Projections of health and welfare on the socialist and post-socialist screen
Bodies and health on television have not been extensively researched, in particular in the socialist and transition to market-economy contexts.The conference seeks to analyse how television and its evolving formats –contemporary, similar and yet differing in national broadcast contexts– expressed and staged bodies and health from local, regional, national and international perspectives. The conference seeks to better understand the role that TV, as a modern visual mass media, has played in what may be cast as the transition from a national bio-political public health paradigm at the beginning of the twentieth century, to alternative societal forms of the late twentieth century when (supposedly) “better” and “healthier” lives were increasingly shaped by market forces.

Elle permettra par ailleurs de discuter de l’intérêt et des limites de ces dispositifs en termes d’usage, à la fois pour les enseignants et les apprenants et cela à partir d’exemples concrets et d’expériences effectives.

Ethnology, prehistory and politics from the late 19th century to the interwar period
Ce projet de colloque s’inscrit dans le cadre du programme ANR/DFG ANTHROPOS 2 (2018-2020), Une histoire croisée de l’ethnologie et de la préhistoire en Allemagne et en France jusqu’aux années 1960 porté par l’Institut Frobenius et Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle. Il a pour objectif d’étudier les outils conceptuels forgés par la préhistoire et l’ethnologie, en particulier dans le cadre du tournant organiciste depuis le début du XIXe siècle et de l’émergence de la déclinaison de l’idée d’aires culturelles, de montrer les transferts théoriques s’opérant entre ces deux disciplines, tout en analysant leurs origines et implications politiques dans leurs contextes nationaux.

The seminar examines the various types of documents produced in the context of scholarly practices in order to understand how the shaping of textual forms and inscriptions is part of the scientific activity. The seminar also aims to understand how these works make it possible to better interpret the sources on which historians of science draw to conduct their research.

The televisual spaces of medicine and health in the 20th Century
Medical television programmes, across their history, have had specific relationships to places and spaces. On the one level, they have represented medical and health places: consulting rooms, hospitals, the home, community spaces, public health infrastructures and the rest. As television-producers have represented these places, there has been an interaction with the developing capabilities of television technologies and grammars. Moreover, producers have borrowed their imaginaries of medical and health places from other media (film, photographs, museum displays etc.) and integrated, adjusted and reformulated them into their work.

Environmental Knowledge and Nature(s) in Africa
Collecting, Producing and Analysing Research Materials
This issue of the journal Sources would like to place at the centre of reflection those objects that have become research materials and have participated and, for some, still participate in the production, transmission and discussion of naturalistic and environmental knowledge in Africa and about Africa. Their analysis makes it possible to elucidate the various, often neglected, forms of co-production of knowledge, starting from the work of identifying, selecting and translating accomplished for European explorers by the local populations who were qualified in some works as "dark companions" (Simpson, 1975, Chrétien, 2005). Cooperation between research assistants and anthropologists and sociologists in colonial Africa in the 1940s-1950s (Schumaker 2001; Lawrance et al., 2006) and current intercontinental collaborations with African scientists can be considered within these forms of knowledge coproduction.

Reading group of cuneiform mathematical texts
Our working group meets once a month at Paris 7 University to read and discuss, from photographs and / or copies and / or transliterations, selected cuneiform mathematical texts by the participants. Unless otherwise indicated, sessions are held on the Thursdays indicated from 13h to 16h in room 324 of the building Olympe de Gouges. Anyone interested is welcome, whether on a regular basis or more punctual.

Pour la huitième édition du colloque international du groupe de recherche « Mobile et Création », dans un contexte environnemental sinistré et de mobilisations dans lesquelles les smartphones jouent un rôle crucial pour témoigner visuellement et relayer l’information, nous avons pour visée de mettre en avant la nature matérielle de la culture mobile. En s’attachant à la dimension matérielle de la culture mobile, il s’agit d’enrichir l’approche communicationnelle des usages et des contenus, en s’intéressant aux aspects géo-physiques des terminaux qui le rendent possible. Ce colloque a pour ambition de contribuer à développer une « écologie mobile » inspirée en partie de l’« écologie de l’attention », comme le propose Yves Citton. Une « écologie mobile » qui ne se contente pas d’accabler « l’addictif » comme le discours médiatique nous y a habitué, mais qui s’attaque également au problème de l’extractif.

L'idée de ce colloque d'une journée sur Alexandre von Humboldt est de réunir des spécialistes de diverses disciplines qui couvrent aujourd'hui les nombreux domaines auxquels le travail et les idées de von Humboldt ont contribué, en particulier dans son œuvre maîtresse Kosmos (1845-1862). Nous voulons montrer comment le travail scientifique de ce plus grand encyclopédiste de la première moitié de l'Europe du XIXe siècle est plus que jamais au cœur des questions liées à notre planète d'origine, la Terre, et aux questions posées par notre entrée dans l’Anthropocène.

The devaluation and contestation of legitmate knowledge
Les savoirs consacrés et les institutions qui les produisent et les diffusent voient actuellement leur légitimité contestée. Par exemple, dans le domaine de la santé, la médecine dite « conventionnelle » fait l’objet de critiques de la part de mouvements l’accusant de minimiser la dangerosité de ses pratiques (à l’image des mobilisations anti-vaccins) et des partisans d’autres techniques de soin (comme la naturopathie, l’aromathérapie, etc.). Dans le secteur du journalisme, les médias dits « traditionnels » voient la remise en cause de leur partialité décuplée par la multiplication de canaux d’information alternatifs, supports de la diffusion massive de contenus – amateurs comme professionnels – critiques des arènes médiatiques dominantes. Dans la sphère scientifique enfin, certaines disciplines comme les sciences du climat, les études de genre ou la sociologie voient leurs conclusions contestées au motif de leurs biais idéologiques supposés.

#MariellePresente - Transnational Resistances
The Gender and Diversity Journal, a feminist and queer review from the northeastern region of Brazil, invites everyone to submit articles, essays, interviews, field journals, reports and other texts for the special issue entitled "#MariellePresente: Transnational Resistances". The texts must describe and analyze the transnational responses following the assassination of the Brazilian Marielle Franco. She was a black woman from the favela, political activist, feminist and lesbian. She was murdered at the corner of a street in Rio de Janeiro in March 2018. Given the political nature of her assassination, many actions denouncing the crime were organized around the world.

Cette journée d’études se donne pour objectif d’analyser une variété de discours dont la visée principale, ou du moins affichée, est la préservation de la santé. L’approche interdisciplinaire, déployée sur un plan esthétique (littéraire et cinématographique), historique et médical permettra d’étudier, dans toute sa complexité, une des branches de la médecine encore peu exploitée par la critique.
