Art Nouveau Network – Historical Lab 4
In the framework of the project “Art Nouveau & Ecology” actions, the Réseau ArtNouveau Network, as a network of cities aiming to preserve, study and promote Art Nouveau at a European scale, organises a series of five Historical Labs with the support of theCulture 2007-2013 Programme of the European Commission. The fourth of the series, hosted in Aveiro, will explore the following topic: "Matières premières et Art nouveau". -

10th Middle Ages study day
The Brazilian Association of Medieval Studies (ABREM) will hold its Xth International Meeting of Medieval Studies: Ibero-american dialogues, from July 1st through 5th, at the Universidade de Brasília (UnB), 2013. One of the main goals is to improve the networking between medievalists dedicated to the study of the Iberian Middle Ages. This meeting serves as a hub for latin-american specialists and also improves the connection that several institutes and labs maintain with Portuguese and Spanish researchers. One of its other goals would be to set up interinstitutional and international web researches. Finally, this meeting’s main focus is the Ibero-American medievalism itself. -

A experiência global em turismo rural e desenvolvimento sustentável de comunidades locais
This conference, prepared as part of a 3-years research project on the “Overall Rural Tourism Experience” (ORTE) inthree Portuguese villages, offers an in depth discussion of the “rural tourism experience”, its manifestations, meanings, impacts and evolution. It intends to significantly contribute to current reflections on the potential and limitations of rural tourism as a development tool as well as to the identification of ways to maximize this potential in certain circumstances, through a more profound understanding of the dynamics of the “overall rural tourism experience”.
