« Communautés coloniales » en Méditerranée entre l’Unification italienne et l’Occupation de la Libye
The trilingual conference “Colonial Communities” in the Mediterranean between Italian Unification and the Occupation of Libya seeks to address a still relatively unexplored topic: the study of Italian communities abroad, with particular attention to the Mediterranean world in the period between national unification (1861) and the occupation of Libya (1911). At the core of this reflection lies the close, and not merely chronological, relationship between the migratory dynamics that characterized the early decades of unified Italy and the rise of colonial expansionism. The seminar therefore aims to investigate this connection through the specific lens offered by the Italian presence in North Africa and in the Ottoman Empire before the occupation of Libya.

Ce colloque international souhaite explorer le rôle central de la culture et de l’art dans la reconstruction et la régénération du tissu social, à travers une réinterprétation du traumatisme comme moteur de création de mémoire culturelle et comme forme de résistance à la politique d’effacement. Les interventions se focaliseront sur les interconnexions entre traumatisme, mémoire et résistance dans les multiples langages artistiques dans le but de mettre en évidence le rôle de l’art dans la réinterprétation du traumatisme, en le rendant source de mémoire et donc base d’un changement social. L’objectif est d’examiner la production artistique, en particulier au cours du XXIe siècle, réalisée par des artistes palestiniens sur la Palestine, y compris ceux/celles de la diaspora.

“Vesper. Journal of Architecture, Arts & Theory” No. 14,
Michel Foucault, in La volonté de savoir (1976), described how the mechanisms of the examination of conscience belonging to the pastoral tradition of the 17th century progressively extended to all areas of society, marking the threshold of a biopolitical modernity. Here, the ‘will to knowledge’ is not the subject’s drive for research, but the injunction to bring into the field of knowledge-power those borderline domains of life that had been previously excluded from it: death, birth, sexuality. This process of the adherence of knowledge to bodies entirely invests our time and urges us to reflect on the figures of the ‘will to knowledge’ in the new millennium.

The United States has been consistently engaged in overseas operations. This call for papers seeks to explore the complex relationship between wars, Americanism, and anti-Americanism from the 20th century to the present.

«Imago mundi». Una mirada a la metáfora: creatividad, fraseología y discurso
The guiding question of the conference will therefore be to try to specify the linguistic and conceptual functioning of the metaphor. More generally, the conference will welcome any contribution aimed at bringing out the relationships between metaphor and the three concepts in question: creativity, lexicalization and discourse. The analysis of metaphor can proceed from both a diachronic and synchronic perspective and address different types of corpora and texts. The conference will pay particular attention to the analysis of different types of discourse, in particular scientific, technological, media, tourism, advertising, political, legal, philosophical, historical, literary, artistic and educational/didactic discourse.

Reflejando las líneas maestras de este tercer coloquio, los tres verbos del título -interconectados y complementarios- permiten ampliar el campo de estudio de la investigación en torno a la didáctica de las lenguas y la construcción de identidades plurilingües, principalmente vinculada a lugares institucionalizados de aprendizaje como escuelas o universidades, a otros ámbitos y enfoques, a otras profesiones y perfiles implicados en la práctica de la interculturalidad y en la planificación o gestión de espacios plurilingües. Este coloquio internacional reunirá las intervenciones de especialistas en la enseñanza de lenguas/multilingüismo y políticas lingüísticas con vistas a un intercambio fructífero.
