Als Raum akademischer und staatsbürgerlicher Bildung sowie der Vermittlung und kollektiver Erprobung von Wissen ist sie zugleich ein Laboratorium demokratischer Praktiken.

Le congrès international sur l’économie du désert – ENCG, Dakhla a pour vocation d’être une plateforme de recherche scientifique interdisciplinaire sur l’économie, le management et le développent du désert, du Sahara et des régions arides, afin de contribuer efficacement dans la bonne gouvernance et le développement durable des régions désertiques, partout dans le monde, en passant par l’encouragement et la promotion des investissements dans le Sahara et les déserts, et en suscitant des rencontres entre toutes les parties prenantes à l’échelle mondiale. Cette septième édition sera également consacrée à des questions générales relatives à l’économie et au management des régions arides, du Sahara et du désert et à leur développement durable.

The Legal Norm in International Politics: Law, Sovereignty, and Geopolitics in Latin America, c. 1750–1880

This panel explores the interaction between legal norms, sovereignty formation, and geopolitical dynamics in nineteenth-century Latin America. During this period, new republics faced the simultaneous challenges of consolidating internal authority and projecting it outward in a rapidly shifting international environment. Legal norms—constitutional, civil, penal, administrative, and consular—became key instruments through which states defined their international position and negotiated their place within an emerging hemispheric order.

La neutralité engagée

Une histoire transnationale de l’humanitarisme espagnol dans un contexte global durant la Première Guerre mondiale et jusqu’aux années 1920

Grâce à la dynamique lancée lors d’un atelier en 2024 sur l’institution humanitaire créée en 1915 par Alphonse XIII, le Bureau de la Guerre européenne, ce colloque permettra de réunir des initiatives individuelles, et de faire dialoguer un ensemble de spécialistes pour combler des lacunes historiographiques concernant l’action espagnole durant la guerre. La conférence examinera ces actions à partir d’une perspective globale dans les années 1920. Il s’agira de les comparer à celles d’autres institutions ou pays neutres, comme la Suède, le Danemark, le Vatican ou le CICR.

This special issue aims to gather contributions from researchers studying indigenous peoples in international politics. We particularly – though not exclusively – encourage submissions on topics such as: How does the political action of indigenous peoples yield pressure on traditional concepts such as politics, sovereignty, international cooperation, and global governance? To what extent and through what mechanisms do these practices subvert or are co-opted by the hegemonic structures of the international system? In what ways do indigenous philosophies and worldviews challenge the colonial logics of the Anthropocene, extractivism, and the geopolitics of knowledge?

Ce numéro de Cadernos do Arquivo Municipal se propose de réfléchir sur le colonialisme européen en Afrique aux XIX^e et XX^e siècles, essayant d’expliquer à travers les connaissances historiques actuelles, le fait colonial – identique dans ses idées et pratiques dans les colonies européennes en Afrique –, structuré en différents volets territoriaux et nationaux, et en mettant en lumière la déconstruction des mythes, idées et théories qui se sont succédés et transformés pour légitimer et justifier la violence coloniale. Il s’agit également de donner la parole aux Africains, tellement réduits au silence par le système colonial, en écoutant leurs lectures d'une réalité vécue dans un passé proche, qui a laissé des traces significatives dans leur vie quotidienne.

This special issue of Práticas da História is interested in receiving contributions, referring to colonial and post-colonial African contexts. It is important to better understand what is happening in different African countries, at the level of the Academy but also in other spaces where social memory and history confront each other, and how political, ideological, economic and linguistic factors interfere in those situations. In the case of the former Portuguese colonies, which will soon celebrate 50 years of independence, there are additional factors, such as the later end of colonial rule and the delay in historiography about Africa that occurred until recent decades, both in Portugal and in Brazil.

“Imago Mundi”. Ein Überblick über Metaphern: Kreativität, Phraseologie und Diskurs

The guiding question of the conference will therefore be to try to specify the linguistic and conceptual functioning of the metaphor. More generally, the conference will welcome any contribution aimed at bringing out the relationships between metaphor and the three concepts in question: creativity, lexicalization and discourse. The analysis of metaphor can proceed from both a diachronic and synchronic perspective and address different types of corpora and texts. The conference will pay particular attention to the analysis of different types of discourse, in particular scientific, technological, media, tourism, advertising, political, legal, philosophical, historical, literary, artistic and educational/didactic discourse.
