  Sir Joshua Reynolds: What's New ?

  Ce colloque est le premier événement scientifique organisé en Suisse autour de la carrière, de l’oeuvre et de l’univers de Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723-1792). Il est aussi l’un des premiers, depuis la dernière grande exposition rétrospective consacré au premier Président de la RoyalAcademy, à Londres et à Paris (1986), à faire le point des recherches et des travaux les plus récents sur le peintre et son temps. Dans le cadre d’un lieu de rencontres et d’échanges entreles chercheurs et le grand public, il s’agira de permettre aux spécialistes confirmés ainsi qu’aux jeunes chercheurs de se rencontrer, de comparer leurs analyses et de croiser leurs réflexions autour d’un peintre autour duquel de nombreuses questions restent en suspens ou discutées.

  The Relationship Between City and Port and the Regeneration of Urban Waterfronts

  Portus Plus Journal

  Portus plus is the new ‘online-magazine’ edited by RETE (Association for the collaboration between ports and cities) will be dedicated to developing the themes in the relationship between city and port and the regeneration of urban waterfronts. In particular, exploiting the advantages of communicating on the Internet, Portus plus will become an opportunity to present original works, theoretical studies or the results of practical experiences. Portus plus will be edited twice yearly and may be consulted on the website of Rete, www.reteonline.org, in the ‘Portus Plus’ section. Anyone can participate in the selection of articles, by responding to the ‘call for papers’ in accordance with the procedures indicated in the forms. The papers submitted will be evaluated by a “Review Committee”, composed of prestigious international experts in the field, and, if they are considered worthy, will be published in the Portus plus digital magazine.

  French Theory : reception in the visual arts in the United States between 1965 and 1995

  Nombreux sont les artistes américains, actifs dans la seconde moitié du XXe siècle, à avoir nourri leur réflexion et leur pratique des apports de la philosophie, des études littéraires et des sciences sociales. À cet égard, un certain nombre d’auteurs français ont bénéficié très tôt d’un intérêt soutenu. Parmi ceux-ci, on retrouve des figures majeures comme Lévi-Strauss, Barthes, Bourdieu, Foucault, Lacan, Althusser, Lyotard, Baudrillard, Derrida ou Deleuze. Autant de penseurs dont les écrits en sont venus à constituer le corpus de ce que l’on désigne désormais sous l’appellation de French Theory. La perspective de ce colloque sera donc l’étude de la réception de cette « pensée française » dans le domaine des arts visuels américains à partir de 1965 et jusqu’en 1995.

  Reverse-Exoticism: Writing Practices, Alternative Voices and Heritagization

  This is a call for papers for a Special Interest Panel inclued in the Tourism and Seductions of Difference Conference (Lisbon, Portugal, 10-12 Sept 2010) directed by Cyril Isnart (Cidehus-Universidade de Évora) and Ema Pires (Cria-Iscte and Univ. de Évora). While academics have studied ‘heritage’ mainly in terms of a national or elite construction, this panel is interested in the increasingly loud claims to ‘heritage’ emanating from minorities and small social groups. Evoking Michel De Certeau (1988), our emphasis here is on analysing ‘scriptural practices’, both as cultural apparatus and means of production and objectification of minorities’ alternative voices.

  Ce numéro de Mémoires du livre / Studies in Book Culture vise à examiner comment se déploient le livre et les métiers du livre dans les œuvres fictionnelles (poésie, roman, théâtre, chanson), toutes époques et tous corpus confondus. Les articles pourront relever de l’histoire du livre et de l’édition, de la sociologie du littéraire ou encore de la sociocritique, mais privilégieront un questionnement méthodologique ouvert. This issue of Mémoires du livre / Studies in Book Culture sets out to study how the book and its related professions are portrayed in works of fiction (poetry, novels, drama, lyrics), in a melding of eras and corpuses. Articles may be based on the history of the book and book-publishing, the sociology of literature or even social criticism, but will privilege a methodologically liberal interrogation process.
