  Cooperation and Education: Africa and the World

  II COOPEDU is organized by the Centro de Estudos Africanos do Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (Center of African Studies, ISCTE-IUL, Lisbon) and by the Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (School of Higher Education, Polytechnic Institute of Leiria). The overall theme of the congress is Cooperation and education: Africa and the World. The main goal is to extend and deepen the issues addressed in I COOPEDU (4-5 February 2010, ISCTE-IUL, Lisbon), forging continuity in reflections on cooperation in educational issues between African countries and those in other regions and continents.

  On the occasion of its 1st International Conference, the Bajo Palabra Philosophy Association, announces the “1st Award Competition of Bajo Palabra Journal of Philosophy for Young Researchers”. This competition is open to any researcher under 35 years old, who are registered in the Conference and who have submitted an unpublished work to one of the proposed branches. Several prizes will be awarded. Works will be selected by an international jury, based on their originality, academic rigor and accuracy. Each of the winners will receive a certificate from the Autonomous University of Madrid, the outstanding publication of the paper in a journal issue and the return of the registration fees.

  International and National Standardization and Differentiation of Education Systems from a Historical Perspective

  The general thesis of this conference is that the national and international standardizations, the resistances to it, and the development of regional particularities are mutually dependent. During the conference projects, protagonists, and effects of the standardization processes within the education systems throughout the 19th and 20th centuries shall be examined and discussed. International and national processes of standardization and comparisons of them are in the main focus: Not only the success or failure of standardization but also how national standardization processes depend on international standardization processes – and vice versa – are of interest.

  Historical Development of National Systems of Elite Formation in Eastern and Central Europe

  This workshop is bringing together specialists from mostly Eastern Europe together with some West European partners, capable and liable of sharing their localised research expertise in the study of the birth and initial development of national systems of elite training in a number of (mostly but not exclusively) small East Central European societies. All of them have very concrete empirical research agendas and records in these fields, but separately, applied to their own national societies. The idea of the meeting is born from the need of and the interest in comparing – in many thematic issues term by term – research findings, insights and questions gained from studies of the training, career and activities of various East European elite groups during the decades up to the Soviet take-over.

  Institutionalization and internationalization of the devices of recognition and the validation of the work and social experience acquired (RVEA)

  Vector of renewal of the relations between universe of education and work?

  Ce colloque a pour buts : - d’identifier et décrire les connaissances et les expériences relatives à la RVAE à travers différents axes thématiques. Il s’agira de s’interroger, en termes de distance et de rupture, sur les parcours individuels (candidats, professionnels de l’accompagnement, membres de jurys, etc.) singuliers et collectifs au sein d’une société en constante évolution et sur les contraintes qu’elle fait peser sur eux ; - d’articuler et analyser les résultats rapportés de ces problématisations et expérimentations de façon à identifier l’intérêt d’une perspective comparée des approches et des méthodologies utilisées dans les différents espaces locaux, nationaux et internationaux ; - de tirer les enseignements de ces analyses pour les confronter à des propositions, à même de structurer de futures collaborations, sous forme de programmes internationaux. Autrement dit, l’intention est de contribuer à un débat scientifique et pragmatique de fond et de favoriser un début de conceptualisation ou de formulation d’hypothèses d’action.
