Quelles lectures des sources à l’ère numérique ?
After the inaugural DHLU Symposium in 2009 that focused on "Contemporary history in the digital age" and a second edition which tackled the methodological and theoretical implications of considering websites as primary sources (March 2012), this third edition will focus on the use of online thematic research corpora. Given that more and more sources for contemporary history are being made available online as digital research corpora — as on the CVCE’s site — and following on from the first two editions which examined the methods used to develop these sources, this third edition of Digital Humanities Luxembourg will focus on the various ways in which this material is used by humanities researchers, particularly contemporary historians and more specifically specialists in European integration.

Innovation is a process manifested in and through grey literature. Both have their origins in knowledge generation and both demonstrate value for government, academics, business and industry through their uses and applications. In a way, innovation and grey literature are two sides of the same coinage. Innovation is the catalyst for positive change and grey literature is the measure of benchmarks in the further process of research and development. The goal of the Fourteenth International Conference on Grey Literature seeks to track the process of innovation by tracing the research life cycle and observing its convergence in the field of grey literature. -

Complexity, Networks and Internet Regulation
Séminaire du projet ANR ADAM sur les architectures distribuées
Why is the Internet so difficult to regulate? In large part, its complexity and size have proved challenging, but there seems to be a lot of ignorance about how it really works. Large interconnected systems such as the Internet display a number of inherent architectural characteristics deeming them well-suited to the study of complex dynamic networks. The starting point of this talk is that it is perfectly possible to use various network science-based tools to explore the contentious issue of Internet regulation. Specifically, the Internet as a dynamic distributed system requires new challenges that rely on that same distributed nature in order to tackle them. -

Policies and practices in access to digital archives: towards a new research and policy agenda, July 2 - 6, 2012 Budapest, Hungary. In co-operation with the Information Program, Open Society Foundations and the Open Society Archives (OSA) at Central European University. This course is intended to serve as a bridge between archivists, curators, researchers, legal experts and policymakers whose work deals with digital records, cultural heritage collections and/or open data. Launching an itinerary to reform the political and statutory landscape by uniting the efforts of key stakeholders is one of the broad purposes of the course. -

Symposium sur la TEI et l'édition scientifique
This symposium, to be held in conjunction with a meeting of the TEI Council, will explore such questions through a series of presentations outlining the current state of the art in institutional publishing operations such as those of universities in the UK, France, US, and Australia, from the point of view of private sector publishers (among which the NLM DTDs are increasingly adopted), and from international initiatives where interoperability has been identified as a major factor (e.g., PEER, which includes European research institutions, repositories, and STM publishers). The objective is to identify current difficulties in making publication systems interoperable and identify priority actions for the TEI to intervene in this arena. -

Les métamorphoses du texte. La maîtrise du discours mise à l'épreuve des médiations
Dans une société marquée par le développement des industries culturelles, la place de la littérature paraît de plus en plus contestée. Même si elles restent difficiles à appréhender, de nouvelles écritures sont en émergence et l’on assiste à une diversification des formes de médiation. Dans ce contexte, qu’advient-il de la maîtrise du discours ? A quelle(s) place(s) se trouve désormais affecté l’auteur ? Quelles logiques affectent le texte dans les passages qu’il subit d’un média à un autre ? Peut-on encore soutenir l’idée d’une maîtrise du discours dès lors que se multiplient les instances intervenant dans la production et les mutations des textes ? Il s’agit de s’interroger sur ces textes qui deviennent autre chose que des textes au sens où ce terme a pu être compris et défini jusqu’ici c’est-à-dire dans une culture qui a été celle du livre. -
