  Music and Migration

  This conference will explore the relationship between music and migration by providing new insights into the creative practices and life-stories of migrant artists across the globe. A core theme of the conference will be the motivations and experiences of migrant musicians who leave, return, stay or move beyond their localities. Through the focus on such specific groups of migrants the conference aims to throw light on their identifications in their artistic and every-day lives. Past and on-going research shows that patterns of migration are clearly linked to transnational networks. By focusing on the role of migrant musicians within such networks, this conference seeks to analyse and understand the extent to which musicians’ networks may or may not be special cases within migration studies.

  Outre des propositions portant sur les aspects méthodologiques des recherches dans le domaine de la gouvernance d'Internet, cette troisième édition du symposium encourage particulièrement les propositions traitant des sujets suivants : mise en perspectives de la gouvernance d'Internet dans le contexte de la gouvernance internationale ; théories de la gouvernance en réseau et institutionnalisation de la gouvernance d'Internet ; rôle des ONG, des mouvements sociaux et de la société civile dans la gouvernance d'Internet, An 3 du Forum des Nations Unies pour la gouvernance d'Internet: évaluation en termes de structures, processus et impact, législation et juridiction dans la gouvernance d'Internet, protection du copyright, fournisseurs de services Internet et mécanismes techniques de contrôle, internationalisation des noms de domaines : extension de l'accès ou tour de Bable ?

  Topics could include European fascist and non-fascist dictatorships and their relationship to religion, especially to the Vatican, the fate of religion and religious institutions under Communist regimes, the position of Christianity in Maoist China and in Asia, religion and dictatorship in Africa and South America, ... Proposals for contributions on the topics suggested above, or, in general, on topics relating to the theme of ‘dictatorship and religion’, are invited. It is envisaged that a ‘dossier’ of 5 to 10 papers will be published in the Historia Actual Online Autumn 2008 edition.
